5 out of 5 eggsGood Modem

Pros: Excellent modem that has rarely had ANY issues in 4 years! was a bit of a pill to initially setup (wiring issue to house), but since has been flawless. if you don't need docsis 3.0, its the JAM.

Cons: doesn't support docsis 3.0...

Other Thoughts: im planning on upgrading my service and since this experience went well im going to get the 5341j probably. It will hopefully provide the same reliability...

5 out of 5 eggsStood the test of time.

Pros: Good speed and was on my ISP's approved modems list. Most importantly to me, it has stood the test of time, and is extremely reliable.

Cons: None found.

Other Thoughts: I bought this on January 30, 2010. It has had absolutely no problems though being in service 24/7 since being bought. It finally has come time to replace it though, as I recently upgraded to a Doc3.0. Still works perfect to this day, and I certainly would recommend this product.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Performance

Pros: Bought mine at a big box retailer because I needed it right away and it performed well for years. Pretty much plug it in and forget it. Nice and compact with easy to see indicators. I'm sure it would still be working great if a power surge hadn't blew out the power adapter (along with almost everything else plugged into that surge suppressor).

Cons: Doesn't support DOCSIS 3, but this isn't much of a con since a lot of cable companies don't support it either.

Other Thoughts: No need to pay more for something that will not work any better.

4 out of 5 eggsFast Speeds!

Pros: Fast Down and Up! Easy to set up. Boots quick. Small/Light. Does work on Comcast network great no problems with them =) I have has up time for 6 months no problems!

Cons: No local management. Gets warm but mine sits in a climate controlled room. On power reboots some times it does not power back on and need to wait then reapply power.

Other Thoughts: Good modem I just wish I can monitor the dB from the cable-modem0 interface and be able to change max bandwidth. I would recommend this for a user that does not need or know advanced WAN/LAN networks. If your a user that just need a good reliable modem then this is what you need. If you are a user that needs a modem that you can configure this is not for you.

2 out of 5 eggsNO DOCSIS 3.0

Pros: Looks nice, smells nice and clean, looks pretty enough.
Claims to run fast speeds.

Cons: This device doesn't seem to work with Docsis3.0 systems which I didn't know about until I spent over 24 hrs talking with 50 different comcast reps. So I've got a nice expensive paperweight for holding down papers. YAY.
8*(

Other Thoughts: I'm severly mad off that I bought this modem and am now stuck with a paper weight. Cuz this stupid thing doesn't support docsis3.0 I have yet to even see a modem on new egg that supports docsis3.0.
Even tho this device claims to handle the service speeds it won't activate due to it not supporting docsis 3.0.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality

Pros: Smaller then Motorola

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have owned this modem for over a year and the device has performed flawlessly. I purchased this to replace an aging Motorola Surfboard that started dropping connection constantly. Once this device was in the connection was still dropping but only about twice a day. Turns out that the cable outside of the house was severely damaged and the line was attenuated to an unusable level but this little guy kept going with only a couple of drops! Once the line was repaired I have not had a dropped signal once in about a year. Very impressed!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Modem

Pros: I have had this modem for over 2 years now and have never encountered a problem with it. It has consistent transfer rates. Have never shown any decrease in performance.

Cons: Haven't encountered any yet.
