Pros: Good install, decent performance (compared to 7200 RPM drives), 16MB buffer (instead of 8MB), good manufacturer reputation.

Cons: None except that it isn't free. :)

Other Thoughts: This was purchased as an upgrade for an internal drive for a laptop. Since that laptop was exchanged for a better one, this drive ended up in an el-cheapo external drive enclosure (may upgrade this at some point). But it's performing beautifully as a carry-with backups drive. And the wonderful thing about 2.5" drive enclosures is that they get power from the USB connection, so no wall wart, and it works with your laptop even when everything's running off battery. VERY slick. And a good buy!

Pros: Quiet and fast.

Cons: I started getting blue screens after ~15 months of use with this HDD. A few days later the drive started making clicking noises and soon after that it died. The machine doesn't even detect the HDD half the time when I run Dell's diags, and when it does, it won't boot from it.

Other Thoughts: I probably got a dud. 15 months is ok, but STILL. Good thing I had everything backed up.

Pros: This is a great drive, really works well. It's very quiet compared to my old one, and the speed is great.

Other Thoughts: MY hard drive died in Dell Inspiron 8200 and I needed a replacement. It originally had a 30GB drive, but I wanted something bigger. This drive fit the bill. Fast and quiet. My computer boots much faster than with the old hard drive. It arrived via UPS a day early. Way to go Newegg and UPS!

Other Thoughts: I replace my busted sony laptop 60GB HDD with this nice 80GB HD.My laptop its made of a 1.25Gb Ram / Pentium M-1500MHz / Windows XP. This hard drive is pretty fast and quiet. Installation was a baby's job.Only problem i have with it is the heat. My lappy sometimes gets on fire(lol); the heat is no problem if you don't go for ultra functionality like i sometimes do when copying/deleting/installing files. In terms of price, this HDD is not as cheap as desired but it is worth every cent of it!. I recommend this product and Newegg's service a lot; specially if you plan to replace your Laptop HDD!!!

Pros: Fast, even compared to other 5400 drives, and cheap for the power.

Cons: I've had two of these go bad on me in two months. Note their abysmal 1G shock limit (2G non-op), they simply aren't designed well for laptops.

Other Thoughts: Compared to an old Toshiba 4200 drive, which lasted over 2 years, this is lame. Be very careful with your laptop if you get one. Its speed has convinced me to give it another chance first though.

Pros: Great Drive...although slightly louder then other drives, I find that Toshiba Drives are very dependable. My Laptop boots up noticably faster

Comments: My new Toshiba HDD arrived 2 days EARLY! Newegg is crazy fast, I ordered it the day before Thanksgiving, it arrived today Monday! I can't comment on HDD yet, I just installed it and it's running fine, a little warmer than old hdd which I find odd.

Comments: Installed on Dell Inspiron 8000. It would not recognize full capacity of hard drive. Toshiba does not offer Ontrack Disc Manager as other major hard drive manufacturers for free. Had to Buy Ontrack Disc manager ($xxouch) to get the full capacity recognized. Check with other hard drive companies for the software before going with Toxhiba. Fast shipping from Newegg rocks.
