1 out of 5 eggsProblem Child

Pros: Can't think of one.

It got 1 yellow Ball rating, because there are no minus Yellow balls allowed below 1

Cons: Bit of a late review after purchasing in 2012. Bought specifically to accommodate my Pal DVDs, Not a frequent user of media but checked when it arrived it would play Pal Discs as advertised. It did, so was content.
Fast forward to present day. Won't play Pal Discs. Pop up tells me incorrect Region Code--Where did that that come from ?.
Lots of irritation with this unit and Customer Service and information seeking with LG, is a "whole different experience".
Will never allow another LG product in my Home.

4 out of 5 eggsFllawless Once Setup Properly

Pros: Excellent Performance in streaming video for Netflix app. That is once you correctly add your network connection

Cons: Only has wireless G built -in. Need range extender if you are using player in room other than where your router is located. The setup built into the player did not recognize the range extender until I manually typed in settings for my router downstairs. Yet it picked up weaker networks outside my home. You figure it??? LG tech support was poor. I had to figure it out after they told me to send the player back to them for service. It didn't need service. They should have built wireless-N into the player not G.

Other Thoughts: The Netflix app could use some work. They only show categories with maybe 80-100 films all told. if you want more you have to search for a specific title. I think that sucks. I have a better Netflix App on my Toshiba android tablet than what comes with the player.

5 out of 5 eggsWould recommend - Great product, great price.

Pros: I selected this Blue Ray player because of reviews I saw on several other sites, the features that are built into the unit, and the price point was in my budget. Other considerations had to do with having a Wi-Fi ability and Hulu, YouTube, and Netflix built in. No heating issues for us. Plays like a charm and has quick loading times for both DVD and Blue-Rays with no problems. Easy to use and like the layout of the remote as well. A lot of other remotes now days are not as easy to use. Great priced player with lots of loaded features.

Cons: Wish I could add shortcuts for Netflix and YouTube. Only can add LG's special ones. But this is not uncommon among players from what I have read.

1 out of 5 eggshearing problem LG will not acknowledge

Pros: Looks pretty. Plays DVDs fine, and blu-ray disk when it doesn't freeze.

Cons: There is definitely an issue with cooling with this unit. It will play a DVD fine, however if you try to play a Blu-Ray movie, it will overheat causing the unit to seize up. None of the buttons respond. The only way to reset it is to pull the plug. I called LG and they said ask a neighbor if I could borrow a blu-Ray disk an test it! That's crazy! I told the outsourced tech support guy that it was a cooling problem and he could have sworn I was an idiot. He said if I didn't like it, feel free to take it back for a refund!!! That's obsured! Apparently LG cannot even stand behind this product, and this is supposed to be the best player they make? Shame on you LG for letting such a shoddy product pass any quality check.

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend this even to my enemies, less my friends.
