Pros: Great Drive

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Recently at boot up the drive was not recognized by my computer. Contacted Crucial by email and they responded within an hour with a fix (power cycle) that took only a half hour. I am very pleased and impressed with Crucial's support.

Thank you Sopha!!

1 out of 5 eggsWorked great... for only six months

Pros: The drive worked flawlessly for 6 months.

Cons: Yesterday I switched my laptop on and it wouldn't boot into Windows. I managed to get to a command prompt in safe mode and ran chkdsk to find out that a MASSIVE number (thousand upon thousands) of my files were suddenly corrupted and sitting on bad sectors. Chkdsk was unable to correct all the problems and I now have a drive that is unusable.

Other Thoughts: That this drive failed so catastrophically, in such a short amount of time, is a major bummer. I specifically spent the extra money on an SSD believing it to be less prone to failure (performance was not a major consideration for me).

I'm currently waiting on Crucial's support people to get back to me, I'm hoping they'll give me an advance RMA since I'm in the middle of finals and I'm suddenly without a laptop.

5 out of 5 eggs256GB SSD

Pros: Got it on sale. Good storage space. FAST!!!

Cons: Not a con of the drive, but the system I have it in is older (~4 years) and only has SATA-II ports. Even with that I get a 7.9 for the HDD score in Windows 7.

Other Thoughts: Slowly piecing together a new system so I can take advantage of SATA-III.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Performer

Pros: SSDs are the thing of the future, they are just more practical, faster and with time more economical, I'm running this 256 GB as a second drive and it's pretty fast, it is were I store all the games and such. I run all the games at Highest settings and at 1920 x 1080 which is the resolution I prefer.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Reliability and storage capacity versus price on the SSDs have not leveled yet making the purchase of an SSD a little risky now a days, once that happens and with better performance improvements the SSD is gonna replace the Hard Drives in the near future.

5 out of 5 eggsNo failures

Pros: I love this drive and I think the negative reviews are probably mistaken. If you cut the power to it unexpectedly, it may look like it died because it is not detected in BIOS anymore. The solution is to leave the SSD powered on for an hour or so (in its undetected state), then turn off and on; this resets the drive and it will work again. I learned this the hard way and found the solution with a little research.

Cons: The fact that it can suddenly stop working due to a power loss, is a bit of a con.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth it!

Pros: Fast & reliable, what else do you need? Will make any computer with mechanical storage instantly faster and it will cut your boot times at least in half.

Cons: Not as fast sequentially as some of the newest SSDs but you will never tell in day to day performance.

Other Thoughts: Put this in my girlfriends Toshiba laptop, decided on the 7mm version in case she upgrades to a thinner laptop in the future. Also have a 128GB M4 as the boot drive in my desktop and will never bother with mechanical storage again. If you got this for a laptop and need more storage just get a optical bay caddy and replace your optical drive.
