1 out of 5 eggsWhat JUNK!! Avoid!!

This review is from: ADATA XPG SX300 128GB Mini-SATA (mSATA) MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) ASX300S3-128GM-C

Pros: Price was good for the size.

Cons: Big HUGE honkin pile of JUNK!!! Died in just about 4 months of light use on a rarely used computer. This stupid junk made me lose tons of photos and documents....SERIOUSLY ADATA?!?!

Other Thoughts: Never EVER EVER again am I EVER purchasing any ADATA Product. I have had several Kingston drives, even a few I had to RMA for performance issues but NEVER have I had such a pitiful short lived drive as this....incredible incredible junk....and their "customer service"??? hahaha what a joke....I call them and their "support people" send ME a form to fill out and email back to them that they themselves could fill out by asking a few questions....Now I am waiting for a return email-so they can *get this* send me an RMA number, so ONLY THEN can I PAY...I HAVE TO PAY!!! to send this data losing junk back to them.....

NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN ADATA!! Ive never had a REGULAR SPIN TYPE DRIVE FAIL IN FOUR MONTHS-SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!

1 out of 5 eggsDied in 2 months

This review is from: ADATA XPG SX300 128GB Mini-SATA (mSATA) MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) ASX300S3-128GM-C

Pros: Faster than a spinning disk

Cons: Bought two of these. One is still going at 4 months, while the other died in less than two months.

Other Thoughts: Not going back to aData. Will do a warranty exchange once and hope for the best.

2 out of 5 eggsUpdate to my Previous Review

This review is from: ADATA XPG SX300 128GB Mini-SATA (mSATA) MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) ASX300S3-128GM-C

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Died after 3 months of use. Started the RMA process. It is too complex to deal with. Basically the warranty is too much trouble. You might as well consider AData products to have zero warranty. I just pitched it in the drawer and purchased an Intel SSD instead.

Other Thoughts: In my work i deal with a lot of vendors and a lot of warranties. AData is up there at the top of my list when it comes to hassles. I think if i have another product of theirs die i will probably just stop buying their products all together. I don't have time to deal with their RMAs.

4 out of 5 eggsRE: Good but didn't last

This review is from: ADATA XPG SX300 128GB Mini-SATA (mSATA) MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) ASX300S3-128GM-C

Pros: OK this is the second review- i didn't check F/W or anything to see if its the exact same model drive or not. Put it in- installed and its working fine. The RMA was lightning fast, even over holiday weekend and the terrible USPS..

I already bought another one, i'm thinking newer the computer better it will run. Lower use- I wont use Msata on older style chip set pc's anymore. These weren't designed for 3/4 year old computers

Cons: Gets extremely HOT- burn your fingers hot -150F ish- could of just been all the work it had just completed - not sure. In the drives defense it was an older laptop with an X9 extreme CPU.

Other Thoughts: Tried to install to DELL PRECISION M6500 by itself, thats a no go. The Dell bios is NOT capable of reading the Msata without the regular SATA slots # 0 or #1 populated. Dell bios turns off the msata slot when nothing detected in the big slots- same thing it does with dual vs quad core cpu's and the extra memory slots- no 4 core's - no 4 memory slots.

1 out of 5 eggsAlmost died after few months of usage

This review is from: ADATA XPG SX300 128GB Mini-SATA (mSATA) MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) ASX300S3-128GM-C

Pros: Fast

Cons: "Almost" dead after few months.

Other Thoughts: The first few months (like 2 of them) i had no problems on my Lenovo Y580. Then my OS (Win8) started to act weird wasn't sure if the reason was SSD or the OS. After spending 2 days re-installing windows (lots of fails and stalls) i managed to do it. But the performance was bad. Few days ago my OS started to freeze until yesterday stopped loading (hangs while loading). After booting from my alternative HDD the chkdsk shows "File Record Segments are Unreadable " which means that the SSD is almost dead.
... Now copying all the files to my alt HDD.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed after 2 months use

This review is from: ADATA XPG SX300 128GB Mini-SATA (mSATA) MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) ASX300S3-128GM-C

Pros: Very fast when it worked.

Cons: Failed in less than 2 months, shows as SANDFORCE controller with nothing attached. Lost 2+ months of data

Other Thoughts: Going to try RMA through AData

I figured the mssd would be a little more reliable.. guess not.
