5 out of 5 eggsHIGH SPEED

Pros: Got this for my laptop and finally got it installed and been using it for awhile now and very happy with speed of it my windows 7 pro boots up from start to being online in about17 seconds I have about 75% of drive space used up so it not a problem with the current size not know of anything else I need to put on it. see other thoughts for speed test results

Cons: cost of course but sooner or later that will come down as the capacity increases, I paid more for my first 20GB HDD than I did for this

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Very fast. Boot time is around 12 seconds. Great as a primary ssd for your OS.

Cons: I think it runs too quietly. Feels like its not even there sometimes.

3 out of 5 eggsTransfer Kit? give me a break!

Pros: Work's great! opens everything in the blink of the eye. Amazing. Love ssd's are the only way to go. cooler, not as hot. can take a hit if your clumsy like me. not as fragile as an hdd.and seriously fast.

Cons: Transfer kit is a joke. I watched the video read everything Chusial had to read and Transfer Kit would not work. ended up using the sata wire and high lighting the OS in my PC and putting it in the ssd then installing the ssd in my MSI FX720 Laptop and using a Windows 7 Disc to install OS. once i did that installed Norton Internet and Ghost everything was ready to run. Been running perfect for about 2 weeks now.

Other Thoughts: Also 128GB usable space is only 109GB. But hey. That's what external drives are for. I bought this straight from Crucial. Stupid me. Newegg's prices are so much better. 2 egg's taken away for the transfer kit. save the pennies and buy without the kit and use the OS disc instead. much less headaches. overall I'm very happy with this little ssd. runs like lightening.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and quiet, just like an SSD should be.

Pros: Solid SSD for the price, allows me to to turn my computer on in roughly 8 seconds from the time the Asus logo from my motherboard appeared on the screen to when I was in windows. Plus, all the programs I had on start-up were loaded instantly, no waiting around for skype to start up.

Cons: The data transfer kit it came with could only back up files from My Documents, My Music, My Videos, etc. It had to no option to select specific sub-folders, and since I was backing up a 500GB HDD, my files did not fit on the SSD and there was no way for me to select the specific files I wanted to lower the memory usage. I ended up not using the software in the end.

Other Thoughts: My friend and I had an extremely hard time installing windows on it, only to find out that the reason why the windows 7 installer wouldn't detect it was because we forgot the connect the power cable. -_- Its not a problem on the SSD's side, but we felt pretty dumb after when we realized this.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy to install in a laptop

Pros: Got this as a replacement for a laptop HDD that was having all kinds of issues. Easy to install. The transfer kit works great. This is my 4th Crucial SSDso far.

Cons: No problems at all.

Other Thoughts: Don't forget to turn off defrag and drive indexing. Also don't for get to disable page file. These will reduce those P/E cycles of your SSD to a minimum.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Blazing fast boot speeds. Install speeds are just as ridiculous. Recommended to pick up at least 1 tb sata 7200 rpm for storage if you went cheap like me.

Cons: costs an arm and a leg.(your first born as well)

Other Thoughts: need an adapter for most towers

5 out of 5 eggsGreat upgrade

Pros: Super Fast, really slim, The usb transfer cable is awesome.

Cons: None right now.

Other Thoughts: I have an Acer Aspire S3. I had an OCZ Vertex 2 on my old laptop. I opened the Acer and tried to pop in the OCZ when I realized it didn't fit. After a bit of digging around I find out that these new ultra books take 7mm drives. I chose this one because it was the best priced. For about 60 more bucks you get almost double the write speed and higher read speed from the plextor but seriously I doubt my bus speeds and CPU can even scratch the max speed of this drive. It's like buying a bugatti when you live in New York city. Yes your car can do an excess of 200MPH but you will never get to use that power. So save your money and buy the Crucial.

4 out of 5 eggsSATA III SSD

Pros: Yes, this unit does very well. It is a noticeable upgrade in Win7Ultimate from my old 7200RPM 750GB SATAII HDD. It is now the Boot/OS drive, now, with the other HDD's as data drives.

The data transfer kit is a definite plus when purchasing units such as these, and will definitely come in handy down the road.

128GB is a decent enough size, so one won't worry about running out of space too quickly before doing necessary data management.

SATAII Win Exp index: 7.8
SATAIII Win Exp Index: 7.9

Cons: I purchased this unit believing that it would demonstrate considerably higher performance than another Crucial M4 unit rated at 415MB/s maximum. However, my particular unit only goes as high as 378MB/s (read) in the SATAIII port with my X79 MOBO. (The write speed, however, is close enough to specification to warrant a nod and a grin.) Adding insult to injury, Newegg decided to lower the price (probably to encourage more buyers) to only $10 above the aforementioned 415MB/s unit's price shortly after I had purchased this unit. Over all, mine is not a 5-egg experience.

Further note by comparison: when this was linked to SATAII, the read speed was going around 250MB/s and the write was actually above the current write speed. Not sure how that works with the M4 exactly, but it does raise an eyebrow.

Other Thoughts: If you own the ASUS Sabertooth X79 MOBO, do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT bother plugging this into the brown (Marvell controller) ports. Use the white SATAIII ports which are also used for the Intel SSD caching. Otherwise, you'll be continually annoyed and thwarted in your attempts to get the drive to boot. Play it smart and just ignore the brown ports for the SATAIII connectivity (for this SSD).

Oh, and make sure you do the following tweaks if you're going to have this SSD as your Boot/OS drive:
Enable TRIM
Disable Windows Caching/Indexing
Disable Superfetch and Prefetch
Disable Hibernate
Move Pagefile.sys to a data drive

You can easily find information on these tweaks online, so do a search. They come in handy to guarantee a long-lived SSD operating at its highest possible performance.
