4 out of 5 eggsUpdate.. Great little unit.

Pros: Price ($12) size
It does work very well in my new home network. Streams Pandora to my old onkyo 5007, no problems so far, hasn't missed a beat.

Cons: Its not a plug and play type unit. The only real problem with this unit, is most of time does not take hold of the users inputs the first or second time, you must recheck all you inputs and settings after each apply and reboot. Which is why I knocked off a egg.

Other Thoughts: Better late than never!!! I really didn't have the skills, time and patience to figure this one out, when I first got it back in 9/2011. It did take a few years to get around to figure this one out, but I really needed it to work. I know this crazy, but i gave it a bad review and just want to clear it up. Its all good.

2 out of 5 eggsworks ok

Pros: Lots of configuration modes, cheap

Cons: Constantly have to reboot to get connection, could probably be easily fixed with a firmware upgrade but there isn't one available. Minimal instructions for the number of ways this device can be used.

Other Thoughts: Got this to connect my home network to my WISP but my connection had to be reset at least once a day but sometimes 10-15. If I connected my laptop directly to my WISP it never had to be reset so I know it was a problem with this device.

3 out of 5 eggsAll I asked for was Instructions

Pros: I needed a wifi router for my new tablet, something I could take with me that was small and easy to use. I bought this one and a small Edimax nano wifi router. It has a good range and the size works for carrying with me in my purse

Cons: I tried for two days to get these two set up. called my internet and they told me I needed to change the IP address on the wifi routers. turns out they are the same as my provider.
I thought that's simple enough.
I emailed customer service and they wanted me to jump through hoops. All I asked for was the instructions to change the IP address. They wanted this long list of invoices, my account numbers and more.
Thanks to Edimax I had my instructions a few hours later and had them both changed. Thanks JUDY

Other Thoughts: If you know what your doing to set one of these up then they are ok.
If you need help from customer service then get ready to jump through there hoops to get simple answers to your questions. Would be faster if you ask friends for help.
I gave it 3 eggs because the router works.

4 out of 5 eggsMust-have for iPhone and Macbook Air

Pros: I don't mean to argue with the way this is marketed, but it is a must-have device for iPhone (likely any smartphone), iPad and Macbook Air owners, i.e. wireless-only devices.

Recently spent 2 weeks in a Hawaii condo with wired-only net, tripping over cords and not having wireless access for my phone or iPad. I searched for and bought this as soon as I got home.

Cons: Does not work as an AP (access point) out of the box if you follow their doc. Need to go into WISP mode first.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to use while traveling, but wanted to set it up first at home. My home wireless router uses network 192.168.1.*, as is quite common. I wanted the Zonet to respond on the 192.168.2.* network, as its documentation implies.

Key to setup: bring it up in WISP mode first. If you let it start in AP mode, it seems to use the 192.168.1.* network, and I could not find the admin interface (192.168.2.1). But in WISP mode, not connected to a WAN, I was able to provision the AP mode fine, setting the security mode and password. Reboot, and voila, perfect AP mode on the 192.168.2.* network. All their documentation seems to imply that you are using this as your only router from a Windows box, and you've never ever before been connected to the internet.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Travel Router

Pros: I bought this to use as a router when traveling. Setup is a bit difficult (read some of the other reviews here for helpful tips) but once set up, it works like a champ. Exactly what I was looking for.

Cons: Documentation on setup is lacking

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well, requires some network knowledge to set up

Pros: Compact, USB powered, flexible usage

Cons: Setup instructions are lacking.

Other Thoughts: I needed to primarily use this as a client with Mac Mini whose internal Airport card is behaving flaky. It took me about 2 hours to figure out the setup, but since then it has been working well. I may get another one as a backup.

4 out of 5 eggsWhat a great deal!

Pros: Small and light weight. A great buy for $23.99! It's only about the size of a small cell phone and very light. You initially have to set it up from your or any PC. You plug the ethernet cable from the PC to the AP. The one thing they don't mention in the instructions is you first have to set it from the default AP mode to "WISP router" there is a little button on the side that lets you change modes. On your browser type in http://192.168.2.1/. It'll take a few seconds to find it self. Then a login screen pops up. The login and password are both admin. It will then take you to a configuration screen where you can set up the AP settings. Basically change the SSID name and pick the encryption method. I selected WPA/WPA2 and select a security key of your choosing. Tell it ok, it'll reboot. Then unplug it from the PC and plug it into your existing router or ethernet port if at somewhere like a hotel. You device should find it.

Cons: The only reason I'm giving it a 4 egg rating and not 5 is because they don't mention in the setup manual that it has to be first placed in WISP Router mode to initially configure it. When you first plug it in it defaults to AP mode. But once configured all was fine. Other than that it appears that it will suit my need just fine for vacation use. Testing at hone my laptop, netbook, and our smartphones (iPhone4 and Motorola Atrix) had no problems at all connecting to it.

Other Thoughts: I've searched around for other pocket routers and the $23.99 price that this is offered at can't be beat!

1 out of 5 eggsBeginners luck ! JUNK

Pros: Worked the first time, it must of been beginners luck !

Cons: Beginners luck is short, can not get it to connect with new wireless settings. Very hard to setup, it may be its me or the unit, but its not user friendly. Would give it zero stars if I could. Stay away from this unit, not worth your time or money.

Other Thoughts: This is junk from china, 12 bucks shipped is very costly for something that only works for a month !
