5 out of 5 eggsWeber "Q" 220 Grill

Pros: Electric ignition works perfectly! Coated cast iron grill distributes heat evenly. Heats quickly, almost no waiting required. Thermometer gives you complete control.

Cons: Very heavy if you plan to use the portability of the unit.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Portable Grill

Pros: Easy electronic ignition with a single, easy to replace AA cell. Grill can get very hot, very fast, when needed. Cast iron grill plate is great for searing meats. Higher domed lid allows room for larger cuts of meat with the lid down. Thermometer in lid is a nice addition on this model. Grill is very easy to clean and maintain, with no nooks or crannies around the burner to collect grease or other crud.

Cons: Fold out side shelves are a bit flimsy, but OK for holding a plate while moving food on or off the grill.

Other Thoughts: This is just what you would expect from Weber - nothing super fancy, but solid and reliable. I've been using the smaller Baby-Q model for many years, with never a glitch, only great results. I expect that this grill will perform equally well.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Grill

Pros: My older model(2+ yrs) came with non-coated cast grill plate which I season regularly. I love it! Plenty of room, cooks large foul, hams, or like a dozen or more burger pattys at once. Comes up to temp fast. Rugged.

Nice accessories available for these Q models.

Cons: Drip pan system on the older model could have been larger, and not require special pans for that constant buy.

They should have enameled that and not the grill top!

Mine had an early issue with the regulator, I called Weber, they sent me a new one, with shipping info for the old one, can't beat that!

Other Thoughts: My wife and I were looking for a nice portable grill to replace the aging house grill, we figured a capable grill that can travel would serve us fine.

In this area, for quality, we found two choices for brands, C*leman and Weber. We went with the Q220 and have been happy ever since.

I'd recommend getting the 20lb propane tank adapter hose, this turns this little unit into a long cooking time home grill.

I will be buying Weber from here on.

5 out of 5 eggsVery solid grill

Pros: This is a very well-built grill. I've used this grill regularly for almost a year without any issues.

High points:
* The electric ignition is solid - it still lights reliably after nearly a year on the original battery.
* Portability - can simply fold up the side racks and take it in my car for cookouts in the park. Uses camping propane tanks in the default configuration (without any modification)
* Size - I got this because it doesn't crowd my deck when not being used. It's one of the best grills for its size
* Surprisingly spacious - I'm easily able to cook for 4-6 people (8 would be pushing it); if you're looking for a camping grill, this will have plenty of room since the shape of the grill cover allows many things to go right up to the edge
* Easy to clean - it's easy to remove the cast iron grill surface to get down into the bottom, and the drip pans are replaceable

Cons: * There is only one burner, so if you want multiple cooking zones, this isn't the grill for you.
* The burner will occasionally get food/debris into the holes out of which propane gas flows, causing the ignition chain to stop temporarily. I have to take a wire brush and go over the surface when it gets too dirty.
* One of my cooking utensils doesn't fit onto the plastic rods at the edge of the storage racks because the plastic rod is too wide
* A warming rack accessory would be nice.

Other Thoughts: I bought a Weber grill stand, which included an adapter to use 20lb propane tanks. This is how I usually cook. When I go to the park for a cookout, I usually take just the grill and use a small camping propane tank (easily enough for an afternoon, when full).

Switching between from a 20lb propane tank back to a portable propane tank is easy, as long as you turn the grill off before the propane tank. I've heard that some valves can get into a funky state if not done in this order (never experienced a problem personally).

The official Weber grill cover fit the Q200 and Q220 with the Weber Q2x0 stand. This cover has ventillation in the back, which allows water to get onto the grill. In the rain, this will fill up the drip pan, and get really nasty after a few days.

The stationary cart is well worth the extra money vs the rolling cart.
