Pros: Easy to setup (for the less tech-savvy people)
Works out of the box (using WPS)
Has an ethernet port
Has OK range

Cons: Can only use the Host router's SSID/Passphrase
Support was no help (telling me to buy the "newer model" with support for custom SSID's after about 10 minutes on the phone)
No support for custom software (such as DD-WRT)
Setup video provided is not even for the model I purchased (video was for the 1000, I have the 3000)
Not dual band (but this isn't too bad of a con as I've got a single band router anyway)
Very minimalistic UI

Other Thoughts: I purchased this router today (1/16/2015) from my local "box-box store" in anticipation of replacing my existing Netgear WN1000RP. When I arrived home and started the setup process, I was under the assumption that it would be like most other repeaters, and proceeded to try a manual setup. Looking at the interface, it was clear that I needed to connect it to my Host router, then setup the Repeater info (SSID/Passphrase). Unfortunately it was not so simple. I ran into a problem when I connected it to the host router, it would reboot itself (to apply settings I assume), then would use my host's SSID/Passphrase as its own. So when I tried to reconnect to the repeater to finish setup, i was greeted by my host router's admin panel. There was no clear distinction that I was on the repeater, nor was there a clear way to access the repeater's admin panel. So, I decided to google around for setup instructions and was only able to find setup instructions for the RE1000W. Basing it off the instructions, I ended up going to the network browser to find my repeater's IP address. Again, I tried to change the repeater's SSID. No go. After going around in circles, I called Linksys thinking "maybe" they could show me what I was doing wrong. After explaining the issues that had kept me pulling my hair out for an hour and a half, the tech walked me through the basic set up steps (obviously off a flow chart). After following all his instructions step-by-step, I re-explained to him that I wanted this repeater to have its own SSID, just as my current Netgear repeater had. He put me on hold to "Check his sources", and came back in less than a minute. He proceeded to tell me that the model of repeater I had purchased did not support the ability to rename the SSID, and that I would need to purchase the next model up (the model number escapes me at this moment).

Overall, I am highly disappointed that Linksys would not include a simple feature like the ability to rename an SSID, especially considering the device cost $60 USD ($119 on Newegg!). From my experience with this Linksys repeater, I am left to assume that all Linksys products are just as geared towards "buying the next model up" and "screw the little guy that wants customization on a budget". My overall rating for this repeater is 1 egg (for Newegg's voting system) or 4/10 stars. It is simple to use, in fact, so simple "a caveman could do it" (sorry Gieco, had to use that one). If you're not very tech-savvy, but want extra wifi range in your house, then this will work great for you. You wont even notice that you switched routers (except for your game disconnecting or skype dropping a call). If you want more control over your network or what names/passwords are used on what SSID, do not go for this repeater (in fact, I would probably stay away from Linksys all together unless it's hack-able with DD-WRT or other open-source alternatives).
