5 out of 5 eggsOwned a few months now

Pros: Fantastic strength with this little device. Only installed the driver, not the complete software package. The signal was so strong, had to put a glass over it to keep it from interrupting my VO-IP phone connection. Will definitely order another one in the future if I get another computer that does not come with wifi. This device has never failed over the last few months. No lag during online videos or streaming.

Cons: Not a single one.

Other Thoughts: For those who are having trouble with this device, be sure that your wireless router or modem/router combo is less than a year old or this device will not be compatible. Am using it with a Netgear wireless router, so they are definitely compatible.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for me

Pros: Plugs right in and once you load the drivers, fires right up. I've had this on my new desktop build for a couple of weeks and it has worked flawlessly with my wireless router.

Cons: None that I can think of.

1 out of 5 eggsterrible!

Pros: works (some of the time), good range

Cons: often disconnects, software will not work unless connected to the internet.

Other Thoughts: i purchased this for a new PC i had built. it started to disconnect randomly. sometimes i will have to restart my computer to fix this. their customer support is the worst. I would not recommend buying this.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid so far

Pros: Had it up and running for a little over a week, no dropped signal, no hesistation, scores same bandwidth as the computer plugged directly into the router for internet. Not sure about network transfers as I don't have a network setup but workse well for the general internet.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: This thing had terrible reviews, not sure if I just got lucky or they didn't know what they were doing. Everything has worked as it should so far for me.

2 out of 5 eggsNot recommended

Pros: When it works, it works

Cons: It rarely works.

Other Thoughts: Daily, this adapter stops working. I have to unplug this adapter, or reboot my computer to get it to connect again. When it works, it does its job. However, I cannot recommend this product, as it should always work, not just when it feels like it.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks But Runs A Bit Warm

Pros: It comes with an extension cable and cradle that can be used with other adapters. It also finds available networks in the area with no problem.

Cons: I am having the same problem that some others are having with connection rates on "N" routers of 11 Mbps. But it is connecting to my ":G" router so I am satisfied with it for now.

Other Thoughts: Windows XP SP3 - All Updates
Software version WNA3100_v1.1.3.22.

This software version seems to be working well with my Win-XP system on my "G" router. The adapter does seem to be quite a bit warmer than the "G" adapter that I have. When I connect to my neighbor's "N" router, it gets downright hot.

I have read other reviews that stated that the unit didn't last long. I hope that's not the case. I have been using my "G" adapter for more than ten years without so much as a hiccup.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

Pros: The only thing positive thing I can say about this adapter is that it comes with the cable and cradle, which I plan to use with another brand.

Cons: It is a piece of junk. I have tried everything I can and can not get this thing to operate at anywhere the speed of my old Belkin 7050 that I bought here years ago.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this adapter. Unless someone can explain to me how to get it faster than 11 Mbps, ti will be going into the trash can. It was a waste of time and money.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: Easy installation

Cons: Cannot hold wireless signal

Other Thoughts: I sincerely hope I received a defective item, otherwise this is a true piece of junk. Signal drops randomly and frequently, despite close proximity to router and strong connection. Inexplicable, really. And the cradle with USB cable packaged with the item to extend its range simply does not work, the PC does not even recognize the unit when using the cradle/usb cable.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Sometimes it connects you to your network

Cons: This thing constantly drops a good connection. It also gets pretty hot.

Other Thoughts: Not worth it! Find a different USB wifi device.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Bother

Pros: Came with USB cable/dock, giving placement flexibility

Cons: Everything else.

I mean, come on Netgear. Start with basic reliability. This adapter randomly disconnects/reconnects and often in the middle of lengthy downloads. It's extremely frustrating. Web searches confirm that this is a common complaint about this device!

The solution I arrived at was this: Buy a Cisco/Linksys adapter to replace it. I plugged it into exactly the same port -- even using the handy Netgear remote dock -- and it works perfectly. Ironically enough, the replacement device uses the same chip as the Netgear one. But it is rock-solid reliable, and Netgear just isn't.

Other Thoughts: It's not worth the frustration. I recommend NOT buying this product.
