2 out of 5 eggsIt is below average for gaming use.

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: I mainly bought it for a fairly great price for what it was worth. The colors matched my tower quite well with the blue LED lights and how responsive the mouse was for me. The mouse had a sweet design on it that lit up quite nicely and worked very well over a standard computer mouse. I enjoyed the mouse for a good two weeks. Due to my hand size, it fits perfectly for everyday use.

The keyboard worked fairly well for my taste as well. It (again) matched my tower with the sleek design and LED lighting along with my mouse. The keyboard was large enough to reach quite nicely and reach out to other keys without too much of a hassle.

Cons: What I previously used these for was to play video games with. The mouse however started to cause some major issues after the third week of constant use. (I use the computer for a good 9 hours of gaming, 4 hours of writing, and 3 hours for web browsing and communication). The scroll wheel on the mouse started to cause some major issues with me to do much of anything at all. The only way to deal with browsing websites is to click the middle mouse button on the browser window and scroll down. But for playing video games? It causes most games that uses the scroll wheel for situational purposes almost non-existent. (Example: switching weapons constantly even when I do not touch the mouse wheel at all). It has caused my mouse to become unusable for any reason at all, even for writing stories (as my mouse wheel sometimes will scroll up and down at a rapid pace even when resting in place). Attempting to clean the mouse lens and the mouse wheel did not improve it at all. Trying to tighten the wheel some did not fix it either. I actually had to go back to my old mouse again that still works over the new one sadly. It also helps to note that the mouse's wire was already starting to split at the base of the mouse just from removing from the USB port.

The keyboard had its own issue as well, mainly due to the fact of the durability of said keyboard. The keyboard's plastic stand can only stand a certain amount of pressure before it pops off. Due to my constant use of video games and my hand posture, the plastic for the stand finally wore itself off to the point that I cannot put it back up again. (It does not help that I have a friend whom also tends to slam buttons when I tell him not to which also makes the stand pop off as well.) There is also the same problem with the cord, mostly when it came to trying to wrap it up. The cord being wrapped up still managed to bend and caused it to pop out at the base. The keyboard is technically still 'usable' but I cannot move it at all or else the wires might break off. It is causing a major electrical hazard in the future I fear.

Other Thoughts: Overall, the product I bought for my use is actually not really meant for gamers in mind and more of people whom only uses the computer casually. Since I do a lot of my work at home, I really would suggest to skip out on it and buy a more durable keyboard and mouse if you are a heavy gamer. If you are using it for just browsing the web and/or going to be using the computer for roughly 2 to 4 hours a day, then for the price it costs would be worth your time and would most likely last a lot longer than what I thought it would be used for.

3 out of 5 eggsNo backlight using Linux

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: It's a decent Windows keyboard and mouse for the money. Nothing special.

Cons: Even in broad daylight, you can't see the lettering on the keys without the backlight. You have to turn the backlight on every time the computer is restarted.

CoolerMaster never made drivers for Linux! - So the keyboard is worthless if you use Linux. I have seen work-arounds, but I can't get them to work.

Other Thoughts: It would be nice if CM would step up and supply the Linux drivers.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse and keyboard

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: My friend has had this set for a couple months and i liked it.
They both work great and you don't really have to have a light on to work in the dark

Cons: I got the mouse 2 days ago along with the keyboard but for some reason when i turned on my pc this morning my mouse stopped working and i couldn't figure out why. The mouse turns on but it doesn't pick up movement.

Other Thoughts: If any one could help me out with this problem that would be fantastic:)

4 out of 5 eggsA Very good keyboard and mouse for a very cheap price tag.

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: I have had this keyboard and mouse for over 3 months. I bought it because I was using them for gaming and was a good choice to do so especially since I'm on a budget. The keys feel amazing when you get them. The keys are easy (not as easy as a mechanical keyboard) to press. Mouse feels amazing. The mouse has the right weight to it for me and never got uncomfortable. The two side buttons are perfect for in-game talking like in DayZ and ArmA 3.

Cons: Not really a con to me but if you use the scroll wheel too much, the wheel will start to sound squeaky. Kind of annoying but what more do you want for a $30 keyboard.
My friend and I bought the same keyboard on the same day, but he uses a MacBook Air, and since the MacBook Air doesn't recognize the Scroll Lock key, the LED's WILL NOT Work. Just a fair warning if your looking to buy it to use it with a Apple Product.

3 out of 5 eggsCm Devastator

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: backlight is great, layout is good, overall nice set for the price. Good feel to it all

Cons: mouse did not install, windows 7 could not find drivers. had to manually download Microsoft mouse drivers and then manually install them to get the mouse to work at all

Other Thoughts: fix the mouse hardware to be recognized as a mouse and not an hid compliant device and it would get 5 eggs from me.
keys are a little loud when typing too..

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price for a nice combo

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: Nice price for a gamer keyboard and mouse, very nice appearance, good performance. Good material and well assembled.

Cons: You can't see the letters if you turn off the light in the keyboard,
The key for turn on the light is the same for scr lk, bad for some games that used that key.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat value

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: Cost, great feel to the keys, mouse is a good size

Cons: Keys are hard to see when backlight is off; Scroll Lock and backlight are the same key

Other Thoughts: Great combo for the price. Only problem is having the backlight and scroll lock being the same key. This makes working in excel a bit of a pain.

5 out of 5 eggsBest budget Gaming keyboard

This review is from: CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: Price! the board feels very good on your fingers. It is very bright! Never had a problem with it. Thought when i bought it, that it would be flimsy. I was wrong its as sturdy as any other keyboard. Comes with a mouse that matches 2000dpi is fairly fast wish it was faster but i'm not going to complain for 25 dollars.

Cons: The mouse scroll wheel was bugged for a long time i would scroll 3 lines shoot up one. it hasn't done this in a long time. Idk if it was a problem with windows 8 or something else. But it doesn't do this anymore so idc how it got fixed im very pleased with this purchase.
