Pros: Excellent set up for charging iPad 3 or older. this would be a nice set up for watching a movie, reading a cookbook, or music in a smaller place.

Cons: Speakers are decent but distort once the volume gets too high.

Other Thoughts: Understand that this isn't a sterophile audio set up and you won't be disappointed. I purchased this for my wife and my one worry was the inability to work beyond iOS 4.5. We have been updating continuously and it has always worked well.

Pros: None - doesn't work

Cons: Won't play audio. Lansing support doesn't exist.

Go elsewhere. Lansing support is non-existant. 800 number only available three days a week, and all browser links to customer service broken. They don't care. They don't want to know.

Facebook has legions of people complaining about poor customer service.

If you want something that has support, go elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: Altec Lansing used to be a good company. I guess all go downhill when they get arrogant.

NewEgg should stop carrying their products, refurbs included as Altec won't support or honor their warranties.

Pros: Inexpensive, sound is fine for kitchen.

Cons: Remote is non-functional it iOS 6. There doesn't seem to be any plans for an update. I wouldn't care much about the remote, but the built-in buttons are clumsy to access while docked with an iPad

Other Thoughts: Considering the lack of compatibility with current models, I'd have given this one a pass if I had known.

Pros: None.

Cons: Apparently there's a known compatibility issue with this product and iOS 5+ where a docked iPad will charge but not play sound through the dock. Some customers have reported that they were told the product would not be getting an update to resolve the issue and to work around it by using an auxiliary audio cable. Seeing as this has been an issue for ~15 months the smart money is on this never getting fixed. On top of that, some of the plastic was broken right out of the box.

Hopefully Newegg can do something about the return shipping because the product is falsely advertised and defective.

Other Thoughts: There's a reason this thing is so cheap compared to other charging iPad speaker docks -- if I could give ZERO eggs I would.

Cons: Loved it.. then it stopped having sound... I tried diffferent Iphone and Ipad is the unit.. Very disappointed .. its now an oversided charger! since i dont have the box im stuck with it. very upset

Pros: I bought two of these during a good sale. I got each dock for 39.99 with free shipping. We use one dock in the kitchen with an iPad one, and the other in our bedroom with a 3rd gen iPad.

In the month or so we've owned these docks we haven't had a single issue with either of them. The sound is pretty good, not on the level of the phillips docks, but not bad. They can get loud and have decent bass. Some users have reported issues with the arm that holds the iPad. I cannot fathom how they managed to break it. I remove my iPad from the arm almost every night and have never had any of these issues.

For the current price of ~40 dollars these docks are an exceptional value. If your thinking it over, just buy it and you won't be disappointed.

Other Thoughts: These docks are a good value and let you experience the benefits of what a decent dock can do without having to drop 300 to 500 dollars on a really good dock. While not as good sounding or as powerful as the high priced docks, they have good sound and get pretty oud without the cost.

Pros: Sound is decent, they provide a rubber adapter strip for use with the case-less ipad 2, mine works without the adapter but with the kensington case still attached

Cons: Claims it "Charges your iPad while docked." and comes with an iPad 2 adapter, which does enable the speakers, but does not reliably charge the iPad 2.

Pros: It worked fine for 2 weeks.

Cons: After 2 weeks, the speaker doesn't work properly. Only charging power is working fine. And, I googled this situation. There were a lot of problem like this. Altec company didn't reply for customer's email or call. I will not any product from this company since now.

Pros: Great design for iPad and iPad 2 (I am not sure will it fits with "the new iPad"? But it could be fits). If you put a big sub woofer on your car, so this one will not fit with you. However, if you are not an audiophile, and you like some kind of easy listening music, jazz, classical music... this speaker is not bad at all.

Cons: At $40 I have no reason to complaint anything about this dock.
