Pros: None

Cons: The pearls that I received measured 2.0 to 2.5 mm using jeweler's calipers. They are described as 6.5 to 7.0 mm Akoya pearls with excellent grade luster, AA+. When actually, these pearls look like they are painted black and have almost zero luster. The clasp shown is solid oval white 14k gold. The clasp on the pearls I received is light filligree white metal.

Pros: Nice box. RMA was handled quickly.

Cons: The black "paint" chipped off one of the pearls when we touched them. Note, we didn't rub them, we just touched them. I understand that black pearls are routinely dyed to help the color match on a string, but these appear to be dipped in some paint-like substance after stringing.

Other Thoughts: Also pearls did not appear to be perfectly round. Seems that the substance they were dipped in to make them black was uneven. This is all conjecture I don't know how these pearls were manufactured-- just giving you my impression. Akoya is supposed to be a good brand.

Pros: Very nice quality or maybe just really great fakes, I really can't tell the difference....

Pros: Refund of product was easy and successful

Cons: Black was chipped off some pearls upon opening box. Touched the pearls and more black flaked off. It was packaged appropriately and had no apparent shipping damage. The pearls had little to no luster. They looked like normal pearls painted black with no Iridescence.

Pros: While I am no pearl expert, I am glad I purchased these. They arrived in a timely fashion, and impressed as I was hoping they would. Many thanks, newegg.

Cons: None that come to mind - a reflection of my lack of knowledge regarding the subject.

Other Thoughts: The clasp is new and offers a challenge for the novice jewelry wearer. Once it's figured out, I appreciate how it functions =)

Pros: Beautiful Black pearls. The color is deep and rich. Luster is stunning and the color match was almost identical from pearl to pearl. Double knotted on silk thread and the clasp was gorgeous. My wife was delighted and the color was almost a perfect match for her black pearl set I got her 8 years ago that was much more expensive. Newegg rocks.

Cons: Need more pieces to make a set. (Ring, earrings and bracelet)
