Pros: In my opinion, this is the ultimate heater for an under desk office application. The AH-400 was recommended to me by a close family friend that works in a cold office and has tried several different under desk heaters with varying results. The AH-400 has a slim profile that allows me to place it near the rear-vertical surface of my corner desk, consumes a fraction of the wattage that a conventional space heater w/ fan uses and provides a constant radiant heat. There is no fan noise and the unit is equipped with a tip over safety switch.

Cons: Not really a Con, but an observation: As a grown adult I should have known better than to touch the bottom of my feet to a very warm surface without socks on (ouch). With this in mind, I don't recommend this heater be located where it can be touched by children if the temperature control is set on the 'high' position.

Other Thoughts: The first heater that was purchased worked so well that I purchased a second AH-400 for my teen aged son's bedroom/office and he has had the same pleasant experience.

Pros: 1. Heats smaller rooms well.
2. Only uses 400 watts as opposed to most other heaters which use 750 or 1500.
3. Internal oil retains heat after electricity shuts off so it can continue to provide residual heat.

Cons: 1. Plastic feet are a little wobbly. Not dangerously so, but still wobbly.
2. I wish the heater had larger vertical ribs holding more oil. That would allow the unit to put off more residual heat longer.
3. The metal panel does get very hot to the touch. Some type of small plastic mesh-like barrier would probably go a long way towards making it safer to the touch or pick up without inhibiting heat flow.

Other Thoughts: The low wattage was a huge plus, and the heater works very well in a small to medium room (like a nursery). I would not recommend it around kids once they are in the crawling baby to toddler stage, until they are old enough to know not to touch a heater.
