3 out of 5 eggsToo New To ReView

Pros: Price; Size;

Cons: Too early to review; can't make an intelligent review until more facts become available (time, use, longevity). It's like saying "I love my brand new car! It runs real well and everything works!" Everything should work when it's new. Tell me how your car is after 5-10 years of using it. I'll trust your reviews much more.

Other Thoughts: If it lasts 3 years (winters), I'll say it is okay. Any shorter, then it's plain cheap and of no real value.
I am weary when a claim is made that it's 60% more efficient or better than comparable models, when there are no facts, examples, independent studies or test results. It's like saying my car gets 60% better gas mileage than comparable cars out there. No facts + no proof = hot air (figuratively).

As of 5/2/16, unit still works! Daughter loves it!

5 out of 5 eggsThis is an effective functional heater that is well worth a few extra dollars

Pros: Solidly built. Simple Controls. Accurate temperatures.

Cons: The unit is on the heavy side but I don't mind that it sits solidly on the floor. Despite heaters having tip over switches, it is nice to have one that doesn't flutter in the breeze.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a portable electric heater, pass by the $29.99 bargains and get this substantial well built unit.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Product

Pros: This Heater is very Easy to Set up, and works very well. It is advertised as being able to heat a large room and it does just that. The first floor of my house is heated by a pellet stove, but that leaves the Second floor ice cold. This Heater is able to Heat the Large bedroom on the second floor. I have it Set at 70 and it does a great job of maintaining that.

Cons: The only downside I've found (and this is just being nit picky) to this heater is that if you turn it off, when you go to turn it back on you have to re-select the Auto/Hi/Low functionality before it will kick on. Its really no trouble, its just one additional step.

Other Thoughts: I had some skepticism when I had some others reviews on this product. Im not sure if they're trying to heat spaces that are far too large or if they're trying to keep the room at 90 degrees when its -10 outside. But this product has worked wonders for me so far.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Service - But arrived Busted

Pros: I received the unit promptly, read directions and plugged it in. Low setting would not work and thermostat kept the unit running & running. Called - and rep got technician to send me out an internal board which, after 4 hours of installation and calls to tech, got the thing spite of lack of instructions with the part, and warnings that the unit had NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS if case was opened.

Now it runs fine, with a good heat range thermostat working to a T. The phone service was very courteous and pretty quick, but limited to business hours. Initial e-mail queries took 36 hours- to get a response..

I am happy with the unit now, but feel that if I was less experienced the warrantee service as offered would not have worked.

Cons: Rather than swapping units when the unit came out of the box defective, an electronic controller board was mailed to me with no instructions, via USPS regular mail. Call to service found that an e mail on how to open the case was sent to me -- BUT still no instructions on replacing the defective board. I am semi-experienced in like-part replacement so removing the wires and finding the screws from the defective part was tedious, but OK. On reassembly, however, the tight fit had me calling the service point (just before closing) and trying to figure out where some various colored wires would go on the new board. Technician gave me advice AFTER I sent him PDFs I had to shoot of my progress.. He did catch that one clip was NOT seated properly
and clear up where the two orange wires went and where the brown wire went.

Reverse assembly of the cases after installing the board was tedious.

Plugged it in and it has been working the past week --- now 3 weeks old and running fine...but was out of commission for the first week after delivery as I faced a DIY repair on NEW goods.

Other Thoughts: At the price I paid I expected a working product right out of the box, or replacement of the unit. Instead I was forced into the position of a do it yourself repair because of the weather and the need for an operating unit. While service was courteous and helpful on the phone -- I did not expect to DIY repair a problem right out of the box without compensation, written instructions or incentive/replacement. Only my need in the weather, and the courtesy shown when I called pushed me to NOT return or refund the unit and trust I could make the repair.

An e mail sent to the repair station explaining this a week ago has yet to receive a replay.

Once working, the unit is great, but if it does not work out of the box I would recommend exchange rather than trying to DIY repair with their good but limited availability tech advice and parts sent to you.

2 out of 5 eggsDied in 2 Years

Pros: worked well in small areas

Cons: was hoping it would heat my split level basement room which is about 300sq feet. There is no other heat in this room except base board electric heat. I was hoping to heat the room up with just the Dr. Heater and it was no where close to heating up the room. I had to place it by me to stay warm. My basement room does get cold in the winter, probably around 56 degrees with no heat on. I could have the Dr. Heater on for about 2 hours and barely notice a difference. But now it is 2 years later and it has died? Turned it on and it worked but then just stopped. Plug it in and nothing happens at all.

1 out of 5 eggsSave your money x5

Pros: You can use the remote as shown in the video...just a few inches from the heater!

Cons: People...a 1500 watt heater is a 1500 watt heater. There is not wattage difference between this and one costing $20. Do your homework and save your money. All 1500 watt heating devices, producing 1500 watts, will provide the same amount of heat. Don't believe me, look it up. Save your cash for a new video card.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price.

Pros: Cheap, heats quickly, great for spot heating where you are currently sitting.

Cons: controls leave a little to be desired. display doesn't always show the number that you'd like to see.

By default when on "auto" it shows the current thermostat setting and it's not incredibly intuitive to make it display the room temperature without switching it from "auto" to "high" to see if it's actually working.

Other Thoughts: heats a SMALL area the unit itself is about 2 cubic feet. Do not expect this to heat 1000 square feet as advertised. it couldn't manage a 2 degree temperature difference (from 66 to 68 degrees f. in the main area of my house which is about 1000sq. ft.)

that being said, when my house is set to 66 degrees in the Michigan winter and it's 20 degrees out side... this thing keeps the couch warm so we don't have to heat the whole house to 70+ to feel comfortable.

However, this thing heats our 150-200ish square foot bedrooms up within 15-20 minutes from 66 degrees to 70.
