1 out of 5 eggsPiece of you know what!

Pros: Are hard to identify.

Cons: Warped and fell apart and could not be put back together after about one week.

Impossible to read the FM transmitter frequency on the LCD. Resets to 88.5, which is below my BMW radio's low end frequency of 88.7 every time the thing is turned off or the car stops sending power to the cigarette lighter.

Impossible to determine which folder the thing is going to play from because the readout is unreadable

Other Thoughts: It's cheap, but don't waste even the $3 I paid for this piece of worthless junk that falls apart and can't be put back together because it was held together with two sided tape from the factory. The didn't bother to mold fastners into the design.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid gadget, awesome price

Pros: It works well and the sound quality is decent given the price. I use it with a 4GB SDHC card (which was a nice surprise- the product info didn't specify it could handle SDHC cards.) Plugged it into my car's 12V, threw in the card and it read very quickly. Setting it was simple and it even displays the file and folder names. Organizing the tracks by folder works well. Setting it up with my stereo was easy, and it even remembers what track I left off on when pulled out or the car is turned off. It worked far better than I expected for the price. The remote is also a nice touch. It handles my MP3-320 tracks nicely. Came with a spare fuse as well. Seems to be ok left in a hot car too- I've done that a few times and it's still alive.

Cons: I can't complain too much given the price. It does get a bit static-y at times though, and this is exacerbated if you plug in an MP3 player/iPod through the line input (as opposed to the built-in player, which is a lot cleaner sounding.)
The remote, while nice, is line-of-sight. It needs to be aimed directly at the device to work, which sucks while driving. I used doubleside tape to mount it on my center console, and it works well there.
It has no shuffle and repeat functions, and it while it remembers what song you left off on, it will always play that song from the beginning when the device is powered up again.
Build quality leaves a bit to be desired- the flex hinge loos very breakable, and a long flash drive could easily be busted off (so use an SD card or a postage-stamp USB drive!)
The audio cable it comes with is very short and the side that plugs into the transmitter is 1/16". That makes it difficult to upgrade or replace- thankfully, I don't use it.

Other Thoughts: A really nice buy for ten bucks. I've had it a couple weeks now and it's still kicking. Even though it has its flaws (hence the dropped egg) and the manual is crummy and very Engrish, it's easily overlooked for the price. I have an old car and it's nice to not have to deal with the busted CD player. The manual is irrelevant anyway, it's really easy and simple to operate.
If you just want to play MP3s in your old jalopy, and don't feel like dropping a hundred bucks on a new stereo, this is a fantastic way to do it. It works as advertised, handles SDHC (not advertised, but awesome) and oh yeah, did I mention the price?
