1 out of 5 eggsUnpowered hub, does NOT include power supply

Pros: None, the specs for this are a lie.

Cons: The Specifications tab for this device clearly says, as of 5/11/2014, the following on Newegg:

Power Input 5V DC

This implies that it includes a 5V DC power adapter. IT DOES NOT. Moreover, if you ask for an RMA, the sellers will tell you that you don't "need" one, and advise you to kindly "check again," whatever that means. I have "checked again," the specs say 5V DC power input, and so yes, this hub was designed to work with a power supply!

The hub has a hole for a DC power input on it, but no power adapter is included. Do not buy this hub if you need it for any high-speed or high-power draw devices, it is a waste of money and seller doesn't care.

USB 2.0 standard spec is to deliver 5V and 500 mA at the port on your computer. If you hook multiple devices to one port on your computer, this voltage/amperage must be split between devices. If you want to use this supposedly USB 2.0 hub for multiple USB 2.0 devices at USB 2.0 speeds, you need an external power supply, especially if the devices themselves are USB-powered (think any modern 2.5 inch portable hard drive or SSD).

You will only be running mice and keyboards off of this hub, don't even think about hooking multiple high-speed USB powered devices to this unit because it will not work.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy this hub. The price is too good to be true. Spring for a real USB 2.0 HUB with an actual power adapter included. Rosewill makes a good 7-port hub (with a power supply!) for a little bit more money.

1 out of 5 eggsWaste

Pros: Had some nice LEDs

Cons: Didn't come with AC adapter. I found a compatible one around the house and when used, the LEDs lit, but the USB ports did not worth. Tried many adapters after that, and each time there was an awful smell of plastic burning and non functioning USBs.

Other Thoughts: Was expecting this, since it was $5. Do not buy.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for the Price

Pros: Couldn't be happier. 7 USB slots with their own power switches? What's not to love? It doesn't come with its own power source however, it does have an AC plug which provides the option to. The light indicator tells you what usb plug is currently active when you have that slot turned on. Overall, I couldn't be more ecstatic about this USB hub. Recommended and I would definitely buy again, but seeing how this has a hefty 7 slots, I may not need to for a very long time.

Cons: The USB slots are situated on top of the device, not on the side which can be prone to dust. Air it out with an air can ever so often and it should be fine.

1 out of 5 eggsLooks nice!

Pros: Nice little package. Seven small switches and blue LED's. Has a jack for a power supply but does not come with one. 2.0 High Speed ports. Flat black finish with silver printing. All ports on the top.

Cons: Worked about two weeks. Ports started to quit one by one with no warning.

Other Thoughts: Should have taken note of the price versus likelihood of failure.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cool lights, switches for each port

Cons: Does NOT come with a power adapter

Other Thoughts: I specifically bought this because I need a POWERED usb hub, and there is clearly a port for a power adapter on it. Not happy.

5 out of 5 eggsVery cool

Pros: Looks sleek, has rocker switches at each USB plug. Blue on/off indicator lights are cool looking and not too bright.

Cons: Not a con at this low price point but I found some stickers to stick it in place on my desk.

Other Thoughts: My Fractal Arc Midi case is very cool but looked bad when the top-side USB plugs were used and caused wires to dangle in front of my DVD drive and down the front side of my case. This gave me the extra ports I need and got the dangling wires off my case.

5 out of 5 eggsNifty!

Pros: Switches and large indicator lights.

Cons: Cord is short but just long enough to reach around from the back of the desktop case to the side, where I want it.

Other Thoughts: Didn't think I'd be happy about a USB hub but this little thing makes me smile. I don't like the placement of the USB ports on most cases and there are never enough, so that's where this comes in. It's a bit smaller than it looks in the picture. Very nifty.

4 out of 5 eggsA review

Pros: 7 Ports each with their own on/off switch. I have many thumb drives, this makes it easy to know which is which. And helps insure that the drive is not being accessed while accessing data (which will cause data loss). I just store all of them in this unit.

Cons: -The cable is short...hmmm maybe less the 2ft, limits it to top of PC. I want it on my desk so i have to use an extension.
-Drives are side to side, many thumb drives are too wide and you have to leave the ports to the left and/or right empty. But with 7 ports, you may be able to live with this.

Other Thoughts: In not too short of a time eveything will be USB 3.0

5 out of 5 eggsSexy

Pros: Needed to be able to toggle usb connections quickly, this thing is a beast. Buy it. Buy it now.

Cons: It doesn't do backflips.
