1 out of 5 eggsCustomer service sucks ...

Pros: It's not bad when it works

Cons: The micro USB port tends to get loose with normal use after a while ... and their customer support sucks ...

Other Thoughts: My Kobo touch broke after 11 months of light use, I emailed Kobo and they promised to send me a replacement one, however, I waited for nearly a week and nothing happened until I contacted them again. When I asked them how I can get the cost shipping back to Kobo reimbursed, they send me a link saying that it's not covered unless I bought their extended warranty, however,
I didn't buy any extended warranty when I bought my Kindle and I purchased it in the United Stated while I live in Canada, after I contacted AmaZZZ's customer support for repair (screen bezel cracks) , they sent me a replacement Kindle within 24 hours FROM THE STATES to CANADA and offered to reimburse the shipping cost back to them! I am expecting the same level of customer service, I guess I am wrong ... do yourself a favor and buy a Kindle instead.

5 out of 5 eggsA great eReader

Pros: - The display is fantastic! The Kobo Touch uses the latest e-ink technology. There is no glare even in direct sunlight.
- Amazing battery life! I am a fairly light reader so I regularly get 2 months of use off of a single charge.
- The eReader is extremely light weight and very comfortable to hold, even for extended periods of time.
- Excellent software support. The Kobo company updates the system fairly regularly and brings new/updated features.
- The online bookstore is very robust and the Kobo is compatible with nearly every format on the market. I enjoy regularly checking out eBooks from my local library.

Cons: - With Borders bankrupt the main brick & mortar company selling these has gone away. However, with everything moving online and the wonderful support offered already this has not been a problem!

Other Thoughts: For just $99 this is a fantastic purchase for reading on the go!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat eReader

Pros: Great eReader! I've had mine for about 6 months or so and absolutely love it. I've had no issues with it and the team that's responsible for the software do update the firmware routinely to fix any bugs that have since appeared. Page turns are quick and the touch screen is quite responsive. Battery life will vary with use, but it's at least on par with whatever is currently out there that is using an eInk screen.

I've used a Kindle in the past (of the non-touch variety) and have enjoyed that as well. To be completely fair, your choice of eBookstores should decide which reader that you use. The Kobo is good for pretty much every eBook store other than the Kindle one, plus you can take out eBooks from the library.

Cons: I've had to do a hard reset once after a firmware update where I lost a lot of sensitivity on the touch screen. After the reset, everything was working just fine.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the effort

Pros: Very nice e-ink display.

Cons: Very slow, the kobo desktop software is buggy, support is very poor, half the time you'll only get the automated response.

Other Thoughts: After less than 2 month my battery will no longer charge.

Get a kindle instead.
