Cons: ∙ Gradual wake is anything but gradual. Within 3-5 seconds, the device is blaring the alarm at full power. The manual even states it should take 2 minutes, but it doesn't. In desperation, i pressed the volume button. All that does is show the current volume setting for when you're in radio/bluetooth mode. It doesn't do anything relevant to the BLARING alarm. ∙ When an alarm is set, the date is removed from the display. If you have a persistent alarm, bye-bye date. You'll never see it again. Display setup fail. ∙ There is no audio out port to plug in your own powered speakers with a 3.5mm jack. That unnecessarily handicaps this device for no reason whatsoever. Other Thoughts: Another shortsighted fail is that you can't program the dimmer. Every night, i have to turn the dimmer down before i go to bed, and every morning, i have no idea what time it is because the sun is up and i can't see the display. You should be able to program the dimmer to change to a certain intensity at a certain time, and then change that intensity again at another time. And it shouldn't be two times, either. It should be as many as you want. I should be able to tell it that at 8PM, it should be at max brightest. At 8:30, one level down in brightness. At 9, two levels down. At 10, three levels down, and at 10:30, it should be at the minimum brightness level. And then the next day, starting at 5 am, i should be able to program a gradual increasing brightness.
