4 out of 5 eggsNot 60 degrees beamwidth

Pros: Good price on a well built antenna.

Cons: Spec sheet is wrong.

Other Thoughts: I just wanted to note, since one reviewer pointed out the 60 degree vertical beamwidth (which is in the Engenius spec sheet), that this is actually incorrect. I found it very suspect (too good to be true for an 8dbi omni antenna) and after they sent me the radiation graph, I confirmed it is around 18 degrees vertical beamwidth (at -3db) , in line with what you'd expect from an 8dbi omni.

Still a nice quality antenna at a great price, and I may still end up using more after some testing, but just an FYI to potential buyers, as it makes a big difference in your system planning (60 degrees vs ~18).

I recommend reviewing the raditation graphs for any antenna anyway, since the specs don't come close to telling the full story. While primary lobe is the most important for distance, the secondary etc lobes can be very important for coverage, especially at short distances or different elevations.

5 out of 5 eggsThese antennas are amazing

Pros: These antennas were used to setup wireless to a feed shed that is 200 feet away from the house. One antenna was mounted to the outside of the feed shed, and the other on the outside of the house. With the correct cables (RP-SMA to N-type female) these worked perfectly. We have 3 bars when using a very basic router and using 25 feet of cable on one end, and 45 on the other.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Very sturdy mounting system, and incredible range. If you need an outdoor antenna, this should be top of your list

5 out of 5 eggsGood things come in small packages

Pros: Easy setup and sturdy components, installation was a snap. Antenna was shorter than expected but it works very well.

Cons: U-bolts for smaller diameter pipe would have been nice.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome antenna

Pros: Compact (about 2 feet total length), very high build quality, extremely stout mounting hardware, and best of all a measurable and real increase in range and stability in a wireless network. I was previously using the stock 5 dBi antennas that came with the Engenious 1650 APs and although they worked well I had a challenging hotel install where the rooms were separated by concrete walls on the inside and on the outside compounded with metal siding.... Anyway, about the best signal I could get with the 200 mW APs out of the box was 58 RSSI right under one. The signal would also bounce back and forth from 58 to 70. Now, the signal is far more rock stable at 51 to 60 max at the same location. I used a 3 foot LMR 400 type cable (from Air802) from the antenna to the AP direct, so no dBi loss (well, maybe .01 at most) was incurred allowing a near full use of the antenna's 8 dBi gain. I am extremely pleased.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: This antenna is a steal at $25! It also has a 60 degree vertical beamwidth which is important because many other antennas have 15 degree to 25 degree beamwidths at this dBi gain. This means you have to be further away from the antenna as the beam narrows in order to get at the 3 dBi lobe at full strength. At my mounting height (11 feet, outdoor) a 25 degree beamwidth means the 3dBi lobe does not touch the ground until about 87 feet away. A 60 degree beamwidth that this antenna provides places the 3 dBi lobe at 20 feet from the antenna--drastically reducing dead spots near and around where the antenna is mounted....the bane of high gain antennas is the higher the gain the narrower the beamwidth and people who don't know what they are doing assume they "got taken" because their signal strength got worse or did not change right near the antenna.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well!

Pros: Serious boost in signal strength.

Cons: Need an adapter cable to use this antenna with an Engeniustech WAP. You'd think they would sell it with the ability to plug it in to their own device.

Other Thoughts: I hop a network from one house to another wirelessly over 802.11N. It's about 350' from WAP to WAP, the Engeniustech being on the far end. Before installing this antenna they were linking up at between 65 and 84 Mb. After installing the antenna the link is a solid 212 Mb sometimes going all the way up to 265. And the connection, which had been a bit shaky, is now rock solid. Where we were seeing about 15% packet loss, it's now solid enough that we use VoIP over it. I ran a continuous ping for three days with 0 packet loss.
