Seems to recognize USB just fine and plays AVI movies without issue. Cons: DVD player didn't work. I tried standard original DVD movies and DVD-R/DVD+R, but no disc was ever recognized. QualityCarAudio claims they will honor an RMA up to 30 days, but making the customer pay shipping on a defective brand new unit, kills the good deal I thought I got. Other Thoughts: Doubt I'll pay to ship it back for repair/replacement. I'll probably just use the USB function and throw it in the trash when that stops working. Cons: I primarily purchased this for the USB/SD card playback feature. Unfortunately I couldn't not get this to work. I can only get either the video, or audio to work but not both at the same time. I tried converting my videos and movies using DVDFab, AnyDVD, iTunes, AVI Converter and trying to use didn't codecs. Nothing seemed to work. The documentation doesn't provide any good info. Left a message for support and sent an email the first day I received the item, but I was never contacted. The 2nd day I called back and finally got someone but their suggestions didn't work. Tried calling back today (3rd day) and they close at 1pm on Fridays, so now I need to wait till Monday to return this item. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? Cons: It does not work with the DVD-R variety of discs at all, which was not made clear in the listing. Most companies are smart enough to have compatibility with both varieties since each is just as common as the other.
