1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: none

Cons: Junk. Just doesn't work. My Windows 7 doesn't recognize it. After tinkering for over an hour, I gave up. I don't really care that it looks or feels cheap and poorly constructed. I just wanted to transfer some music. The CD was another issue. It didn't work either. What a waste. Sending back.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent Converter

Pros: Reasonable build quality unit with general audio conversion software. The unit and software combination work well and produce the best music and audio you could expect from old cassette tapes. USB powered so it doesn't need batteries unless you want to listen to cassette tapes with USB unplugged.

Cons: None really

4 out of 5 eggsNice, simple

Pros: Very easy, simple way to digitize tapes. I use Cool Edit Pro version to capture audio. Installs excellent on Windows 7.

Cons: It's a little on the fragile side, aside from that none really. It would have been nice to have it usb powered, and not need batteries. But, for the price I can't complain.

Other Thoughts: It's very easy to use, install and works nice.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap but effective

Pros: Inexpensive, compact and easy to use.

Cons: Built from the cheapest possible materials on earth, feels quite flimsy, but who cares at this price.

Other Thoughts: Buy an ac/dc adapter for this or you'll be going through AA batteries like crazy.

4 out of 5 eggsJust what I was looking for

Pros: Item was at a great price, and shipped quickly

Cons: Instructions a little unclear

Other Thoughts: I was a little frustrated at first, as the instructions were not all that clear. But after a little trial and error, this machine did everything I wanted it to do. Copying an entire cassette was simple. Copying a cassette so that each song/track was individual took a little more time, but once I got it set up it worked great. I found that the first song was perfect, then the second song sort of played over the first. I just exited the program after each song and then transferred each song into my iTunes. I hope this helps others. Please don't give up. I've been able to transfer all my favorite songs from the cassettes to my iPod without having to spend the money to buy this music on a CD.

1 out of 5 eggsProduct doesn't work

Pros: No pros

Cons: This cassette to MP3 simply did not play the tape. It seems there is a power supply issue.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome tool

Pros: Perfect tool for transferring audio cassette tapes to digital.

Cons: fragile feel, but cost next to nothing, so didn't deduct an egg. the door feels like it wouldn't take much to break off, but i think it would still work fine without it.

Other Thoughts: i bought this to transfer my band's old jam session recordings before the tapes totally aged out. some of the tapes were like 15 years old. this unit did the job perfectly and came with easy to use software. WORTH THE MONEY!

5 out of 5 eggsworked for me

Pros: I was given a cassette converter to do about 250 cassettes from our local school since the reading stations are all CD these days. Although all these look like they are made by the same company and just privately branded, this one worked substancially better than the other.

Cons: These are fairly inexpensive and built like it. Although this second one arrived and proceeded to chart over 200 cassettes, I was shocked it lasted and wouldn't depend on it if it were necessary.

Other Thoughts: Don't load the software from the CD. You can get Audacity online for a free download and it is a later and better version. Spend a little time learning the recording software. It is definitely where the sound difference in the final recording is obtained.
