4 out of 5 eggsDrivers are a bit tough

Pros: This has been working perfectly for me since I bought it over 6 months ago, aside from a rough start (see cons).

Cons: The drivers are tough to install. It took me a couple days of uninstalling and reinstalling to get them to work regularly, and I honestly couldn't tell you why it just decided to start working. Don't even bother with the disk, just get them straigh from microsoft's website.

Other Thoughts: It only works if you use the same USB every time. If you plug it into a different one you'll have to go through the driver installation again...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Works as should, relatively cheap for what it does.

Cons: First was DOA, part of the business, won't remove eggs based on doa, it's how is the working product.

Other Thoughts: First one kept reporting a USB power surge when plugged in, I tried it on 3 diff machines and a externally powered USB hub as well, I called the company which has a live person answer instead of a automated system which was nice, they sent me a pre paid shipping label and I sent it back, the replacement works perfect.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product for Windows 7 64bits

Pros: Good price! Stable Connection! Quickly connecting!

Cons: Quite cheap in quality but it is reasonable for that price! If you are looking at the genuine microsoft product, this is NOT the one! And Microsoft doesn't produce the product anymore! Installation is NOT straight forward!

Other Thoughts: Here is my story. They shipped me a defect one which I couldn't tell from the appearance. I did research online and tried three days with tens of methods to install it. But it didn't connect my Xbox Wireless Controller which I bought it on DELL's website. I contacted the seller and they gave me some instructions with QUICK response. After a few fails, they shipped me another one because they believed the one I had was defected. The new one works perfect! And one word of caution, throw the disc away. Install the software following the instructions on the product page.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value, Solid Product, Terrible Instruction

Pros: - It has the same style as the Official Product
- It came packaged very professionally and safely
- It works once properly setup

Cons: - The software with the product doesnt work
- There is no information on how to set it up

Other Thoughts: Here is how you get this product to work, no drivers needed.

This is with windows 7 64bit

-Right click on Computer
-Go to Properties
-Click on Device Manager
-Right click on the Unidentified Device
-Go to Properties
-Go to the Drive tab
-Click on Update Driver...
-Browse my computer for driver software
-Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
-Microsoft Common Controller for Window Class
-Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows
-Update Driver Warning

It should sync as soon as you finish this process. I hope this helps some as I was a little confused at first.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: Low price, worked for a day.

Cons: My controller refuses to sync with this thing. I followed the instructions down to the last letter several times. A stroke of luck it synced once. used it for a few hours, and the next day when I turn my computer on again it doesn't sync. Tried unplugging and replugging, uninstalling drivers and reinstalling, switching usb ports, etc. Nothing. Cannot get it to sync again after doing the exact same things I did in the first place.

Other Thoughts: I'd recommend buying another model, but it seems that every single one has the same problems according to reviews. This is more of a microsoft being lazy problem than anything else.

4 out of 5 eggsProduct works if you install manually

Pros: First thing: This is not a "Official" Microsoft Product.

I ordered a 2'cd receiver from another supplier on newegg but it was nowhere as well packaged as this one. Packaging included: Device / CD with Drivers (That do not work). No instructions included. Arrived in 4 days with the free shipping option (Very fast and worth it).

As soon as you open up the package; take the small CD with the drivers and throw it in the trash (Drivers on the CD are complete garbage and do nothing). But there is a way to fix this.

This Product does Work but you have to set it up manually yourself. Im running this on a windows 7 64 bit PC with an Radeon HD 7870 to a 42 inch HDTV.

Cons: 1. This is not an official microsoft product.
2. Does not work out of box (So to speak).
3. Packaging could have been a bit better also; but i guess you get what you pay for. Other than that once you set it up it works flawlessly

Other Thoughts: In order to get this product to work you have to do a little work. After finding a similiar solution online I decided to post here for others.

Step 1:
Download the latest drivers from Microsoft. Just google "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows" and it should pop up on the first search (Just make sure address goes to microsoft.com). Also make sure you download your correct OS Drivers (Vista/Win7 32 or 64bit).

Step 2:
Install the Driver Package you downloaded

Step 3:
Plug in your Receiver to a usb port (Windows will notify you that no driver was found).

Step 4:
Follow the below steps (You will have to do step 4 again if you unplug your receiver; but just step 4).

1.Right click on Computer
2.Go to Properties
3.Click on Device Manager
4.Right click on the Unidentified Device
5.Go to Properties
6.Go to the Drive tab
7.Click on "Update Driver"
8.Browse my computer for driver software
9.Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
10.Microsoft Common Controller for Window Class
11."Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows"
12.Update Driver Warning
13.Click Yes

I only gave this 4 stars because it works great; but only if you install the drivers manually. Other than the added time to get it setup; it does exactly what it should flawlessly.

For those of you like me who have 360 controllers at your disposal but needs a cheap receiver then this is for you. Unfortunately this is alot of people's only option since Microsoft stopped selling just the receiver; and only bundle it with a new controller for Windows PC.
