4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Works very well.

Cons: The only gripe I have is that it does require extra steps.
(other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: As the highest rated comment here said:
1.Go to your Control Panel
2.Click on Hardware and Sound
3.Click on Device Manager under Devices and Printers
4.Scroll down the list to Other devices
5.Double-click the Unknown device
6.Click on the Hardware tab
7.Click on Update Driver
8.Select Browse my computer for driver software
9.Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
10.Scroll down and select Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class and click on Next
11.Select Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows and click on Next
12.When the warning message appears, select Yes

Side note, I have had to do this every time I unplug and replug the device. It's a bit annoying, but then again I don't move it around too much so it's not worth removing more than 1 egg.

1 out of 5 eggsStopped working within a week

Pros: Worked perfectly for the first week used.

Cons: One day, it just stopped working. No matter what port I try, 2.0, 3.0, front / back of case, all it does is make the device disconnected tone every few seconds.

Have tried reinstalling drivers to no success.

Other Thoughts: Complete waste of money in my eyes. Do not get if you want to be able to use it for a while.

4 out of 5 eggsDifficult to Install, but awesome

Pros: Works great, now that it is set up. Rubberized foot (we'll call it that) on the bottom makes it easy to place on top of something and not worry about the cord pulling it off from gravity.

Cons: installation CD is mini sized, wont work in my drive so I couldn't see its contents. Also it was a homemade disc, so it wasn't very professional looking.

Christopher C's instructions were spot on, only my Win7 Pro SP1 did not have the wireless receiver listed after following those steps. I had to manually visit Microsoft's website and download the wireless controller drivers for it to finally list the wireless receiver as an option, among other things that then were available.

Other Thoughts: Love it, just what I needed for my computer. Wish I would of thought to get a black one..

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap and does what it is supposed to.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: For Windows 8.1 users, installation isn't as so straightforward. Try different usb ports until it's recognized in your "Devices and Prineters".

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product, needs some careful driver installation

Pros: Works Great, practically no latency whatsoever. Price is wonderful but you sacrifice nothing by being frugal, you get the same product.

Cons: Driver is a pain to install, as other reviews here have suggested.

Other Thoughts: Follow the handy guide someone posted here, that worked for me. Also, if that fails, try running it on a USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 port, mine worked for 3 but not for 2, and I saw someone else here say the exact opposite, just play with it a little and pretend you know what you're doing.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Works so far. I'll leave another review if it fails or whatever.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Being used with the Xbox 360 Wireless Wheel. Haven't tested it with a controller, but the wheel hasn't lost connection or messed up or anything yet. The adapter rest on top of the PC which is under the desk the wheel is mounted to, which is approx 24" away. Connection is stable at this distance. I don't know the overall usable range.
It wasn't recognized by Windows 7, but loading the correct drivers was easy. The directions are here on Newegg and other places on the interweb. Don't let that scare you away, the product works as intended.

5 out of 5 eggsWOrks great, followed the great advices here in the review section

Pros: Works great, no problems. Having had the MS dongle, this piece works EXACTLY the same as the MS piece for a third of the price.

Cons: No cons really unless you cant install the device yourself via the deivce manager. FOllow some of these reviews and your set.

Other Thoughts: I did order this piece through Imagestore from the east coast. Took a bit to show up and I got upset as I missed my chance to play with my kids for two weekends. I had ordered it for my nephews and set their PC up with all sorts of emulators and PC games, but since this did not arrive in time, I gave them my own MS dongle. Then waited for this piece to show up for about a week and a half after that.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Thought the default software does not work for WIndows 7, if you manually download the MS xbox 360 wireless controller software/drivers and install, you can then manually assign the 'wireless receiver' to the 'unknown device'.

Cons: A temporary issue I had was apparently due to having two computers with receivers and controllers in the same room: In order to sync up with the second receiver, the second wireless controller has to be plugged in to the same computer via the charge and play kit or it will become #2 on the first receiver instead. I suspect this is a generic issue, not unique to this brand.

The lost star is due to having to manually assign the driver
