3 out of 5 eggsIt's a thumb drive

Pros: It's inexpensive, sleek, small-ish.

Cons: I know this is an odd con but it is rounded, and because it is smaller than most standard sticks the rounded corners make it more difficult to hole on to if you have big hands.

I first reformatted the drive (NTFS) and wrote 27 gigs of mp3 files with no problem. Went back later to write 3 more files and it hung up and wouldn't let me unmount it. Ended up pulling the drive, reformatting it and writing all files again. So far it's working but I don't have a ton of confidence in it and won't use it for anything important.

Other Thoughts: It is what it is. I get 9M write speeds.

As long as it works I'll use it only for playing MP3 files in my F150. If it take a dive I'll never buy another Segon product since there are many others to choose from.

1 out of 5 eggsBoth of mine died within 2 months

Pros: Didn't cost much (which is why I purchased them), but had no idea they wouldn't work.

Cons: Both of mine died within 2 months (of course, after the return window). Unbelievably frustrating. Tried any and every method both on Windows and Linux (x86 and ARM) to reset the "write-protected" bit. Couldn't delete the last files written, format a partition, or partition the device - no matter what OS or utility I used. (Yes, I was root/administrator.) Almost every utility knew there was a problem ("you will not be able to write the partition table").

Other Thoughts: Under no circumstances buy this product. Wish I could give zero stars. Never had any problems with SanDisk high-capacity USB thumb drives. I will go back to them. I see I am not alone in my troubles.

1 out of 5 eggsCrapped out after 3 months

Pros: It was cheap

Cons: Stopped working after 3 months
Transfer speeds were never that great even when it was working

Other Thoughts: In the process of transferring files it failed and said they couldn't be copied because the drive was write protected. Strangely enough I was transferring about a dozen files at the time. The first 5 copied without issue and then it spontaneously switched to write protected mid transfer. I didn't change any settings and there is no lock/unlock switch on this thing. Seems corrupted. I've tried changing attributes from the cmd line, editing properties in computer management, reformatting, and even adding a storagedevicepolicies key in the registry. Nothing I do removes the write protection on this thing. I think it's toast after a mere 3 months. I bought this thing despite the mixed reviews and now I regret it ...

1 out of 5 eggsDies in 2 weeks and corrupted my files

Pros: Price - though if it doesn't work and corrupts you files that's not a bargin

Cons: Dies in 2 weeks and corrupted my files

Other Thoughts: After two weeks the drive failed giving the error "Disk Is Write Protected" along with corrupting my files!
I had to give it one star or it would be ZERO stars

4 out of 5 eggswrites slow/ reads fast

Pros: reliable storage (which is the most important factor for me), good physical size with easily distinguishable shape (can find it in my pocket full of flash drives without having to look), the LED flash is prominently visible, good price

Cons: annoyingly slow to mount as well as write when formatted NTFS (as though an inventory of the entire contents of the drive is being compared to its file allocation table), I haven't been able to boot from it when formatted NTFS, when multiple flash drives are mounted I have to make sure to dismount this one first (it takes Windows7 the annoyingly long time to dismount it that it takes to either mount it or write to it) - if I don't wait, Windows gets confused and the "eject mass storage device" utility hangs

Other Thoughts: bought a second one to use for an archive flash drive; for as often as I use these and at the price I bought them I can afford to wait a bit

4 out of 5 eggsThese are good drives

Pros: No quirks, no gimmicks. Just straight drive space. Format well and seem structurally sound.

Cons: Only dissapointment was that Win 7 pro-64 bit, would not allow me to create a sys. image on the 128 gb model, and it was not for lack of room?

Other Thoughts: Bought two other drives of a different brand at the same time, and neither one of them is functioning presently!
