MagnaFlow's California 40000 catalytic converters are the first series of a new line of converters designed for vehicles with second-generation On-Board Diagnostic (OBDII) systems. They are designed, tested, and catalogued for specific vehicles. They are not traditional universal converters. These converters have higher efficiency than conventional strict California requirements for conversion efficiency and durability.

Magnaflow Exhaust products are covered by a lifetime warranty from defects. Most mufflers are warranted against blowouts and defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle in which they were originally installed. Magnaflow's XL Series mufflers/exhausts, catalytic converters, and titanium exhaust line carry a limited warranty. This warranty is voided when any muffler has been installed on any commercial or racing vehicle, or has been improperly installed, altered, subjected to misuse, or damaged from accidents. The cost of labor and any additional parts required to complete the installation of a replacement muffler are not covered.
