5 out of 5 eggsActually Incredible

Pros: I keep waiting for this thing to let me down. When I read the description of this camera I was like "no way". No way are all those features going to work. No way it's going to stream well. No way that the network interfaces will be that easy. No way the wireless won't blip out when more than 2 people are viewing it.

It does. It does all those things and w/o a hitch for 3 months. I'm buying a second one right now

Cons: None really. The only realistic way to make to make this better would be to include a mariachi band.

Other Thoughts: You can run multiple cameras on one dyndns.org address by using ports. Run the main one (the one you'd want to see most) on 80 and others on 81,82,83 etc.

3 out of 5 eggsGood quality for the price

Pros: Easy to get started, decent quality on video considering the cost and expected usage.

Cons: Motion detection is spotty. Instructions are basically non-existent.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Value So Far

Pros: Decent image quality and construction for the price

Cons: Could use better instructions

Other Thoughts: Although the instructions could have been better, there is more than enough information available on the web for any avg person to make this camera work.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Simple Camera

Pros: PTZ works great - Affordable - Relatively easy setup.

Cons: Software. Not the best image, especially with motion. Perfectly acceptable in this price range though.

Other Thoughts: The software seems like a poorly put together hodgepodge. Everything works so far it's just not intuitive in any way. No problems monitoring with several iPhone and android apps. UPnP setting worked well and I did not have to manually forward ports for external viewing. Overall a good product for the price.

4 out of 5 eggsNice camera for the money

Pros: Good picture, easy to set up, works, clear picture

Cons: Lousy sound capacity, but what do you expect for the price. I do not have these set up to record anything and I am not sure that is possible, not needed in my case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat IP Cam

Pros: I have 5 other cams like this (different brands/purchase dates) and this one has the best firmware. All of these cams are physically almost identical, and all work well. Like 4 other cams, this one offers the IO switching capability (remote-controlled relay on/off, and alarm input). Picture quality is very good for VGA, night vision can easily see 20 feet away.

They work with Dyndns, and also can be set to email you their IP address if it changes or if they lose power.

Can email you 5 pics upon motion detection, and I have actually caught a pic of the tail end of a lightning bolt multiple times with these!

With a little skill, this cam could be the center of a basic home security system.

Cons: Wish IR LEDs could be controlled, pointing this at a window washes out with IR reflection. And amazingly, electrical tape, duct tape, and cardboard are all permeable to IR, although I found covering the LEDs with the foam ring that comes in CD spindles works fairly well.

Also these cams need Internet Explorer (ActiveX) or browser which uses the kernel like Chrome with a plugin to perform all functions such as audio. But most functions work fine on any browser. Or with Android apps TinyDVR or IPCam Viewer.

Other Thoughts: These things are basically little robots. I love them. They can move, control an external device, and even think (motion detection). Would be cool if they made one with rechargeable batteries and wheels.

Also plan to use this as a baby monitor when the new one arrives, in addition to an audio-only monitor.

I don't know how these are made so inexpensively. The factory must be cranking out thousands per day. They're made and designed fairly well, I guess when they were designed someone actually put some thought into them before building a million of them.

3 out of 5 eggsHooooooToooooooo

Pros: Price. Got it for $50!!!! For the P/T with audio. Like the audio feature scares the c-r-a-p out of the wife. haha. Can be used with LINUX!!! Got it to keep watch over the place while we're away from time to time so far working great for that. Night vision is decent enough to about 30 ft. or so but it's more suited for indoor use which the camera is labeled for anyway. Pic quality/clarity is decent enough for what you pay for.

Cons: It does make a little noise one direction while panning. The other direction is totally silent and you'd never even know it was there. Color saturation is horrible because the ir night vision lights that surround the lens don't seem to shut off. They are on all the time. It'd be nice if they'd go off the pic during daylight hours would look much better. Initial setup isn't as intuitive as it could be. Just follow the instructions on the disc "word for word" and setup should be semi smooth.

Other Thoughts: For remote viewing, after trying out tinycam monitor and ip cam viewer from the google play store I went with tinycam monitor for it's remote recording features in the pay version. Send recording or Jpeg to remote ftp or dropbox account. Works flawlessly so no need to have a pc running something like Blue Iris as a dvr box. And....it will support unlimited cameras. Gonna get a few more of these. Wouldn't drop more than 50 or 60 bucks though on cameras of this quality.

2 out of 5 eggsWould not buy agai

Pros: It works and that is about all that I will say. If you use the popular open source software that is available you will even be able to zoom in and out even though the camera is not listed as having zoom. The camera works okay for something like a baby monitor but that is about it. The resolution is not high enough for a clear detailed images.

If you have windows that let in a lot of sun light the image washes out and really isn't visible in the highly lit areas. The tilt and pan function is a bit jerky and moves too fast on the default settings. There is a configuration option where you can adjust the speed but it is difficult to find.

Cons: The documentation was so poor that I looked at other manufacturer's that sold similar cameras to find the installation steps. One manufacturer sells the same camera and has a YouTube step by step tutorial and a good user's guide. The software that comes with this camera is okay, but nothing to write home about. The image resolution is maxed out at 640 by 280 and is it not sharp at all.

The initial applications that came with the camera crashed my system (Windows 7) causing me to do a system restore. I did find an updated version for Windows 7 on their website that I downloaded that solved the issue.

Other Thoughts: At times, one of the programs you use for monitoring will simply stop working and the small window will go black. You have to exit the program and execute it again to regain control of the camera. Unfortunately, this is the better of the two applications that you can use to monitor the camera. There is a popular open source application that is better and has more options but is a little harder to configure.

Overall, I had such a bad experience getting this camera to work that I would probably buy a more expensive camera should I need another one. If you are a novice and have never installed an IP camera then you may experience frustration with this camera.

If you use the Firefox or Chrome browsers the camera is easier to install than with Internet Explorer. You won't have sound with these browsers, but the sound that you get with IE is not all that great anyway.

4 out of 5 eggsWorking great

Pros: Functional equivalent to that other popular ip PT WiFi camera brand, for much less cost.

Cons: Same too-short power cable as other popular ip PT WiFi camera brand.

Other Thoughts: This thing appears to have rolled off the same line as Fcam's wireless IP camera. The code is obviously the same as Fcam's. Fcam has slightly updated their graphics, but the rest appears identical. Impressive. Don't get me wrong, none of these sub $100 CMOS cameras are perfect but at this price you can't go wrong, even if they become inexpensive fill cameras when you upgrade.

4 out of 5 eggsGot a bad one, but getting an upgrade

Pros: I never was able to get this one going and I put off requesting a RMA since I thought it was my tech knowledge.
But had it tested by a professional and verified it was a defect.
It's been almost 6 months and SunValley agreed to replace it.

Cons: As I said, defective. nuff said

Other Thoughts: Things break, especially electronics.
But I like their customer focused attitude.
Also wish more people would give them a chance to make things right. Instead of just complaining.
Too bad more Marketplace sellers aren't like these people.
