1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work

Pros: Light on it works.

Cons: Puts out enough power to tell my phone it's connected to a charger but the battery keeps on dying. Even with power off. Every port on it. My phone thinks it's charging but it's not. It's slowly dying inside.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality, poor charging

Pros: cheap?

Cons: 1. Doesn't charge well, when connecting a Galaxy S4 and a MotoX only one charges fast (AC speed), the other always charges at USB speed, regardless of which port I am using.
2. Poorly made - any wiggling of the box and the LED goes off and the thing won't charge. Need to wiggle it again to make it work.

Other Thoughts: Not worth returning due to low price and return shipping cost. Will be going in the trash when the replacement arrives.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat item

Pros: finally you don't have to hang an extention cord on a table to charge all your favorite gadgets. Set this on the table top and plug in everything fron Ipads to tv remotes to recharge. Works great.

Cons: None really, does what it is suppose to do.

5 out of 5 eggsGood charger. OTG works!

Pros: * charger works well. I tested it with Kill-A-Watt. When there's nothing connected, it hardly consumes any wattage.
* OTG port works. It allows interesting usage, like connecting my mouse to my phone, which actually works. I can control the mouse pointer that appears. :)

Cons: none I know of

Other Thoughts: I wish it has more USB charger port.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Charger but didn't work with Galaxy Tab 10.1

Pros: Many Ports
Fast Charging
OTG - storage, mice, etc...

Cons: short OTG cable, and OTG function wouldn't work with longer cables, or with stock cable through an extension.
It seems to not like to charge devices that have been run totally dead.

Other Thoughts: It would not charge my old Galaxy Tab 10.1 or my new Galaxy S4 if it was fully dead. Most chargers take a while to give it enough juice to turn on, but this one was plugged in for over 3 hours and the devices were still dead. Plugged them into another charger and they woke right up. I think it is a failure of the smart charge being able to negotiate a charge rate. It is supposed to default to 1A if negotiation fails but it seems like it is not doing that. Also I was able to charge my devices on the OTG port while OTG was running, the manual said that was not possible. Still overall I really like this charger. I just have to have an old dumb charger on hand to wake up 0% charge devices.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing product!

Pros: This is a superb little charger, turn one outlet into 4 chargers! Great that it has different charging levels, so I can charge my bluetooth headset at a lower level than my kindle and samsung fascinate. Truly a great find!

Cons: It tends to shift a little bit on my desk, but with a small piece of rubbery drawer liner (that goes on shelving in cabinets) it stays put.

Other Thoughts: Really like this charger!

5 out of 5 eggsTo charge several devices simultaneously

Pros: This charger is handy to use.
The 40 w power is more than enough to simultaneous charge couple tablets and phones. It very good works with my Samsung Note 8 tablet and some eReaders, phones and mp3 players.
The OTG USB port works fine.

Cons: No.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Multiple ports all charge at a high rate, allowing me to charge my iPad, iPhone, kindle and fire at once with no need to clutter up my power strip
really love that with USB OTG i can use it as basically a docking station for my tablet. its nice to have that one cable, charge and attach a hdd and keyboard / mouse.
Honestly it has the best rubberized feet of any usb hub I have had.. no slipping even with several flash drives dangling from it

Cons: not sure why it has two USB OTG port

5 out of 5 eggsBest Wall Charger for this Price Range that I've seen to this date 7/15/14. 7.8A of Total Output.

Pros: 1) Fits into messenger bags and shoulder bags easily to carry around when on travel.
2) 7.8A total current output is good enough for individuals. With two of these units, a family of 3 to 5 should have enough to be sufficient.
3) Auto Intelligent smart chip makes it safe to charge devices without worrying about overcharging the electronics.
4) OTG port for Android allows connecting media to smartphones and tablets, a new feature that I've seen with wall chargers.
5) One plug used in a wall outlet around a building or house compared to 4 plugs normally used to serve the same purpose.

Cons: 1) Ideally, it would be nice to have all 4 ports capable of charging 4 tablets safely without product damage.
2) Hot product while charging and after charging needs to be resolved for better handling safety.

Other Thoughts: My Initial Impressions

7.8A total output is impressive for this current date and time of available wall chargers. This is 2.4A for tablets, and 1.5A for smartphones.

I previously evaluated the RAVPower Bolt that was a similar featured wall charger and it had a total output of 6.2A (2.1A for tablets, and 1A for smartphones). They currently both have the same sales price of $19.99. But the extra with the HooToo HT-CT01 is that it has an OTG port which is a new feature for the price range of these wall chargers.

Something nice to note is that all ports have an intelligent chipset that allows it to auto adjust the current to devices plugged in. So for example, if you have a device that takes 1A current output and you plug it in the 1.5A port, the port will draw only 1A current to the device. Similarly, if you plug that same device to a 2.4A port, the port will draw only 1A current to the device, so you do not have to worry about it overcharging past the limits of the electronic devices.

During my first test charging devices, I charged 2 cell phones, and 1 bluetooth keyboard. I checked on them about 20 minutes later and to my surprise, holding the CT-01 is comfortable. It didn’t feel hot like the last wall charger I evaluated.

However, during my next test charging devices, I charged an iPad Air, iPad 2, and two cell phones, which nearly maxed the total current output, and when I came back to check on it 20 minutes later, I felt the top and bottom of the wall charger get very hot to where it wasn't comfortable to hold and grip. It concerned me at first, but I asked HooToo support and found out that it is recommended to let the device cool down for 10-15 minutes after unplugging. The lifeline of the device will not be shortened due to this observation of continuous usage.

It is possible to charge 4 smartphones simultaneously across all 4 ports of this wall charger since they would be at or below the MAX current for each port. However, it is not recommended to charge 4 tablets simultaneously as it can damage the product. If you have more than 2 tablets at home, I suggest you buying 2 of these units to share in the family household.

You can charge iPhone, Android, and Windows Phones to the 2 ports labels "iPhone" and "Android" interchangeably. What matters is the 1.5A specification for those ports.

This product does have a "short circuit, overcharge protection and surge protection" built in to protect devices while charging. It is not stated in the User Manual, but I asked this from HooToo support and got the verification. I'm glad HooToo cares about safety when designing its products.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Charger and Great Value

Pros: 2 high current (up to 2.4A) charging ports
2 low current (up to 1.5A) charging ports

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Excellent value - got this on sale recently. This is one of the few multi-port chargers that can charge my Asus Transformer T100 on either high current charging port at the same charging rate as the standard Asus adapter. No issues charging my Asus T100, iPad2, iPhone 5S and Nexus 7 all at the same time. Also charged my Kindle Fire HD, iPod Touch 4th Gen, iPhone 4S and BT headset with no problems. Have not tried out the OTG port yet.
