Pros: None

Cons: Can't get ELM OBDII 327 to work with my netbook. Got in touch with the "Scan Tools" software company that came with the unit and they said that NewEgg was NOT an authorized distributor and they were not sure how I obtained the software. Email to Newegg to resolve issues went unanswered.

Other Thoughts: Not even heavy enough for a good paperweight! Hopefully, after all I went through to get this unit to work, I'll get a refund.

Pros: Works as described, perfect. Installed it on a Win7 Pro 64 laptop and an older Vista 32 laptop just to try out different scenarios. Had to finagle the port config a bit (read my Other) however, once that was done it worked like a charm. Demoed all the OBDII softwares provided which also worked as described. $19.99 on sale, couldn't pass it up.

Cons: Configuration can be a bit tricky, but what do you want for $20. I worked for Gm for 16 years, scan tools are $2k +.

Other Thoughts: Win7Pro64 / Vista 32 – PC running, plug in OBDII USB, STOP windows driver install process! Install CD in drive. Go to device manager, find uninstalled device and reinstall drivers from rom drive (let the OS find the drivers). Restart PC, leaving OBDII connected.

After restart go back into Device Manager. With the OBDII device plugged in you'll see "Ports (COM&LPT)" listed. Open it and you should see the current com port assigned, make note just in case the automatic setup doesn't work.

Plug the OBDII connector to your car, Ignition Key on, now stop.

**As for the software I've tried them all but the easiest I found to quickly get up and running was EasyObdII.

Launch the EasyObdII software from its folder (in doesn't install on your HD). Once the program is running the top box displays your PC Communication status. If the com port displayed is the same as what's on your PC it should say “Port Okay – Com#” than you're good to go, if not... change your com port on your PC.

Pros: Easy to use interface
Does what it is advertised to do.
Very little setup to do it.

Cons: The software that came with it was a little hard to install - see below.

Other Thoughts: because there was no autorun and directly clicking on the install .exes didn't work. Ended up having to run the install.bat to get it running. really wasn't much of a hassle though, and the software ran just fine after that.

Pros: (null)

Cons: Unit was received in bubble envelope & amateur bulk packaging. Nothing in item description indicates BULK packaging (or anything other than an retail package).

Mini disk was taped inside two torn pieces of corrugated box pieces and its envelope was damaged by taping.

ZERO eggs not possible but is rating deserved!

Pros: This is a general el327 style obd2 adapter. This adapter will work with most of the free scanner software on the market! Good build and worthy of purchase

Cons: none really.

Other Thoughts: I had one of these then I bought a bluetooth variant and now I can use Torque (android app). This unit is now in my garage and the software is loaded on a netbook that I use as a backup.

Pros: Does all as advertised
I can read all OBD 2 Engine Information
Durable Build

Cons: Software that comes with it is terrible but free
High Latency when data logging

Other Thoughts: There are alternative free programs
I would buy again
