5 out of 5 eggsThey are growing on me

Pros: Good bulb. Very close to the brightness of a 50W halogen. Great buy for the money.

Cons: Not quite as bright as 50W halogens but pretty close.

Other Thoughts: I needed to update my previous review. The more I look at these lights, the better I like them. In fact, I've ordered more so I can replace almost all of my ceiling spots in my family room. The color was so different from the old halogens that it was hard to get used to them but now the halogens look yellowed and dingy by comparison. This switchover to LED's is a process. Research, buy a couple, try and then go forward. I've spent several hundred around the house and have several hundred more to come. I can't say whether I'll see a difference in the power bill but my anxiety level over lights left on is certainly going down.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: It only uses 6 watts. Same size as my GU10 halogen reflector spots.

Cons: Color tends to be cool and a bit green. Not as bright as a 50W halogen.

Other Thoughts: I've been on a quest to replace all our main lights with LED. Life has been a contest between the power company and I so I'm always going around turning off lights after everyone else. When I replace with LED's the urgency to turn them off is gone. This particular GU10 bulb for instance -- I leave 7 50W halogens on in the video room at all times and sometimes 10. With halogen, it's 350W or 500W. With these, its 42W or 60W and they should last a very long time.

So, I was very hopeful that this would be the trick. It's close but not quite all the way there. Judging by the wattages vs. output of other bulbs I have replaced (for instance EcoSmart 13W which is superb), it should take 7 or 8W to replace a 50W halogen. Can't find one. Color is something that you can get used to after a bit. Brightness, not so much. The industry is young and it will show up.
