1 out of 5 eggsTwo busted pairs

Pros: Great sound, got them on sale for under 40

Cons: This is the second pair that has crapped out. Just sitting at the library, and I get shocked in the ear and then nothing but white noise. This is unacceptable from a company like Klipsch, and for headphones that regularly sell for 75$. Will be contacting customer support AGAIN, since they have a two year warranty.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth $70

Pros: Decent sound, controls i-products.

Cons: Extremly fragile

Other Thoughts: I bought this pair when they were on sale. Sound quality is decent, noise cancellation is so-so, you have to use the biggest buds and fit them very very snug. On Android devices the mic and the remote don't work, only the play/pause button is functional, but on iPhone they work great, as advertised The hard case and the number of extra buds are very nice.

Why 1 egg? The 3.5mm connector is of VERY LOW quality. It's broken after only 2 months, from regular use. I did not jog or plug them by the cord, yet it managed to get broken. Now I can only from 1 side. For a $70 product, this is unacceptable.

I tried contacting Klispch as I know the pair is still under warranty. Let's see how it goes.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

Pros: - Bought at a heavy discount (nearly 50% off).
- Sound isolation is quite good with low microphonics (sthethoscope-like cable noise).

Cons: - Sound quality is, frankly, terrible. It sounds muddy and lacks clarity.
- Bass is overwhelming, but again, it just sounds muddy.

Other Thoughts: I bought these because of the Klipsch brand but this falls far from the mark. I prefer listening to standard Apple iPod headphones than these.

I previously owned Shure SE215s, which cost nearly 2x as much, but I think much better value for the money than these headphones. Music is just not enjoyable to listen to with the Klipsch S4i headphones.

1 out of 5 eggsDies insanely fast.

Pros: Great sound for the price. Absolutely incredible sound.
Fits very nicely in my ears.

Cons: My first pair was a s4 (without mic) and its been 2-3 years and still running great. But when I got the s4i it broke within a week. One ear died. I contacted klipsch and they replaced it. When i got the new pair around a week later one ear died again. I Had them replaced again, and the same dam thing happened to the new pair. I'm guessing the mic has to do something with this. Or that I am really unlucky, but my s4 is doing great. Now I just feel bad and don't want to contact customer service again...

Other Thoughts: To elaborate I first had a gaming version of the s4i, klipsch was out of stock with those and sent me the s4i. So 1 gaming headphones have died and 2 s4i.

4 out of 5 eggsMaintains the Klipsch Standard

Pros: These ear buds are crystal clear. They do not have the muffled sound that factory ear buds have. I have tried, and I mean really tried get these things to clip, but no luck. I did manage to make my ears ring. The noise reduction works better than expected. I work in an office and at 50% volume I can not hear someone standing next to me talking. These headphones perform differently with each genre of music, please see below. Comfort on the headphones is great, I have worn them for a full 12 hour shift and I nearly forgot they were there. I have not tried to run with them yet, I imagine they would not have any issues. The apple controls are a nice extra, but they are not work the extra $$$. The true value with these headphones is with the mids.

Highs - The high end is held back a little. You would think this could be a bad thing but it really works to the headphone's advantage. It balances the bass out and does not

Mids - Wow, crystal clear. All I can say is you just have to hear them. The clairity is outstanding for earbuds.

Bass - I have tested rap, hip-hop/ R&B, country, soft rock, punk, and dubstep/techno. I think the bass response could have used a tiny bump, but it would depend on personal preferance. I have found the bass to be the best with dubstep, when I listened to rap or R&B I just felt like I was missing the exta bass.

Cons: Cable - It seems like regardless of what I purchase from Klipsch, the cable is a pain. It tangles way too easy. It loves to roll on itself. The legth is great, except for when I have a tangled mess in the middle.

Fit - These buds fit better than any other ear bud I have ever owned, and these are the only pair I have owned that have not fallen out of my ear on their own. However, I notice that the bass response is better depending on the angle of the bud. Is this a con? Not really, because once you find the sweet spot they do not move, but you have to find the sweet spot first.

Travel Case - This might seem trivial, but when you push these headphones into your pocket and you pull out one giant knot, you start to take the time to use the case. The case looks great, but does not do much for cable management. Not a deal breaker, but I am hoping the Klipsh people read this and come up with a case that you can wrap up the cord and keep it from tangleing.

Other Thoughts: I paid slightly less than half of MSRP and I whole heartedly believe I got a steal. I believe the MSRP is a bit high for what you get.

I consistantly read reviews that say "for what they are they are a good value" or "for the price they are a good deal." Honestly, the second quote is not fair to say at all, because I highly doubt everyone will pay the same price for these, but the truth remains, you get what you pay for. These are not over the ear cans, they are not going to vibrate your head with bass or cancel 100% of the noise around you. If you are looking for a compact set of headphones for travel, work, or the gym, these will not let you down. If you want something with hard hitting bass, look at a different style of headphone.

Some of the other reviews talk about the cord as well, you just have to be careful not to let it catch anything. The guy who went through 3 pair of these from sweat must get soaking wet or something. I tuck the cable in my shirt when I lift and I have yet to have an issue. I have not had an issue with the controller getting caught either. It is about the size of a pencil, but I do not wear anything more than a t-shirt. The cord length is pretty typical I think, no issues there. To the skull candy guy, these will not vibrate your ears like most skull candy headphones. If that is what you like, buy scull candy, if you want balanced sound you will not out perform Klipsch. I have already addressed the fit issues, but really, its like buying a shoe, you have 4 silicone tips to choose from, but there will be those few you cannot find the right fit for them.

I really did not want to take a full Egg off for these headphones, but I have tried to be as objective as possible with this review. For those of you who read endless reviews trying to find the right set of headphones, I hope I help. If you buy these, you will get the Klipsch standard in sound quality.

5 out of 5 eggsKlipsch Fan

Pros: I've owned several Klipsch sound systems for home stereo, computer, and headphones. Like Bose, they have their own signature sound. These replaced an older set that didn't survive the wash. They have good bass without distortion and tight mid and highs. I also own the original Ultimate Ears (before Logitech), Bose, and others. These are my favorite hands down. Signature Klipsch.

Cons: None really. The cable is a little thin but my last set lasted years at the gym without problem.

Other Thoughts: Hoped volume control would work on Android - IT DOESN'T. An old set of Sennheisers do.. Great price point if you get them on sale like I did. Even at the current price you shouldn't be disappointed. Save your money and get the S4 if you don't have an iphone.

2 out of 5 eggsSound good. Design bad.

Pros: Audio quality - excellent. Really no complaints in this department.

Mic - incredibly sensitive. I mistakenly thought that it wouldn't work well because it sits fairly low. However, in my apartment, the mic easily picks up my voice as well as anyone talking within 5-10 ft of me. My mom thought I was 3-way calling her, but it was my friend sitting across the table from me. I could see this being an issue in a noisy/crowded place, but I haven't had any complaints yet.

Remote - No complaint with the buttons. I use these with my ipod or my android phone. Even on the android, the middle button still has the "call/pause" functionality which is nice. It would be a huge improvement if the remote worked for both.

Cons: Cord length.. I've only used Skull Candy for the last few years since they're decent quality for the low price tag. I will never buy a pair of headphones with a cord this long again. I'm 5'7" and even with my ipod in my pocket, the cord slack drapes down near my knees. It gets caught on EVERYTHING. Everyday, at least one doorknob or cabinet corner grabs the excess cord and throws my ipod on the ground or rips the buds out of my ear. It's a miracle my ipod still works after a month of this. I'd rather have more cord than less cord, but there's so much it's like a lasso.

Remote - Somewhat bulky in terms of design, not weight. I work in a climate controlled environment and tend to wear hoodies or sweaters a lot. The remote has a tendency to resist movement and get caught on zippers and edges. Either walking around or even sitting down, this usually rips the buds out of my ears when I turn my head.

4 out of 5 eggsThey don't fit snuggly... very loose

Pros: Great sound quality. Good sound isolation - probably too good for when I wear them at work in both ears and I can't hear anything except what I'm listing to.

Cons: They just don't fit very well. They easily fall out of my ear if I reach for something at my desk. I have tried all the different sizes they gave me and just don't have any luck. They will probably be returned and I'll pick up another pair of Beats like I had before and which actually fit well. I took off one egg solely for the fitment problem.

Other Thoughts: I had ordered these on Newegg originally but the package never arrived so I had them refund my card so I could pick them up locally over tax free weekend. Overall they are good headphones if you can get them to fit, but for me they are just too loose. If they fit better I would definitely be keeping them because the sound is crisp.
