4 out of 5 eggsGood little player

Pros: This supports all the formats I want it to, including FLAC (my favorite).
Has an SDMicro card slot, so don't let the 4GB capacity bother you.
Supports Rockbox. Boots really fast with it (1 second or so).

Cons: Use Rockbox because the stock firmware sucks. Initially, I didn't want to put files on it much, because it would always scan and update its "database", which I never found all that useful, since I always browse by folders and files. Since I put Rockbox on it, it never has needed a reset or displayed weird behavior, nor does it update a database (unless you want it to).

Doesn't like 24-bit FLAC. I always wonder why it will skip several songs, then I remember why, and remind myself to re-encode. I would not be surprised that it won't play >48kHz sample rates either, but I haven't tried any.

Other Thoughts: Good value for the money. Replaces old (but still working) iAudio 5.

4 out of 5 eggsIs this a new Clip product?

Pros: I have 3 clips for my personal use and have supplied 8 friends with them. Never heard of a more reliable player so I am really confused by these reviews.
There is an occasional hiccup that holding down the power button for 20 seconds resets. That happens maybe once per year.
Another time my friend used his while pressure washing lots of filth and the Clip wouldn't restart. We rinsed it with distilled water, dried it, and bounced it off the desk until it worked. Still going 3 years later.

Cons: Clips break and it's a hassle to get a replacement on the old ones and impossible for the new ones without gluing something on the back.

Other Thoughts: Totally mystified that so many of you are having real problems.Bad batch? Sansa not saying anything? Why is New Egg still selling this lot of them if so many are defective? The older ones (last time I bought one was maybe a year and a half ago) are perfect except for broken clip.

3 out of 5 eggsIt quits on me after a month and slightly used.

Pros: I like this cute little "SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 1.0" Blue 4GB MP3 Player" very much. Sounds good.

Cons: However, it just suddenly failed to work this morning at 11:30, on 5-19-2013. Too bad. I have just used for a few times (~ approx. a total of 4 Hours) since I bought it few weeks ago.

1 out of 5 eggsStopped Working after 5 days

Pros: Great when it works
Easy transfer or music
SDcard expansion

Cons: DIED after 5 days, in which I only used it for a total of 3 hours because I was busy.

Other Thoughts: Probably not getting Sandisk ever again if this RMA replacement comes defective. This is the 2nd time I have to RMA something on Newegg. Newegg needs to upgrade their quality standards.

4 out of 5 eggsFinaly got a lemon

Pros: over the past year or so I have purchased about 12 or so of these to be givin as gifts and of course 2 for myself I test them before I give them to someone to be sure it works properly with all th bad reviews out there out of the 12 or so I have gotten one the power button broke sent in and got replaced by sandisk no problem so happy with their customer service departmetn. very happpy with the player over all mine have great sound and last 7-8 hours with a full sized set of headphones instead of the supplied earbuds only took one egg off since I figure 90% plus reliability deserves at least 4 eggs

Cons: the unit had to be reset before first use installed a 16GB flash card preloaded with my music took about 6 minutes and it stopped and said the FAT was corrupted so tried in a different player and it refreshed just fine and played so tried a few more times and each time I turned it on I had to reset the unit finally got it to load the music played a couple songs and it sjut down another reset and it refresh media again claiming FAT corrupted so I gave up and now will do RMA with newegg

Other Thoughts: this is still a great little unit I am very pleased with it and will buy more as needed for friends and family mine are over a year old now and if die I will replace them but will wait for them to go on sale most likely MERRY CHRISTMAS to all

1 out of 5 eggsAudio doesn't work properly

Pros: The product had a low price comparable to other mp3 4gb that wasn't an ipod.

Cons: The audio jack was defective. I used three different sources to listen to the music and none of them worked. I used a mini stereo, the headpiece that came with it and a gold tip stereo cable from my car. When I had the stereo cable partially inserted, I got some sound but that was too loose and would just pop out. When I fully inserted the stereo, it just emitted static and no audible noise.

1 out of 5 eggsA complete waste of money

Pros: The only pro is it's cheap, but this also means cheap quality.

Cons: Terrible connection between head phones and the MP3 player, constantly skips, and stops, and the head phones has to be plugged perfectly into the slot otherwise it won't even play at all. The only way this thing works is if you sit perfectly still and never move.

Other Thoughts: Oh yeah, it's also non-refundable! So buying this piece of junk is a gamble.
