Features
In this long-awaited exclusive Xbox 360™ title, fill the shoes of one Alan Wake, a man who makes his living from the terror of others as a best-selling suspense novelist. Trapped in the deceptively peaceful Washington town of Bright Falls, where he came to escape the trauma of losing his fiancée, Alan must piece together a mystery to prevent himself from being trapped inside a nightmarish world forever.

Explore an Entire Town--The town of Bright Falls is 100 square kilometers, and players will be able to roam through this incredibly detailed area any way they like, roaming the town or wandering out to the lakes, forest, satellite towns, and more. The game gives the player goals, but how he chooses to go about completing them is up to him. Clues are scattered throughout the town, and solving mysteries will require players to pay close attention to the little details.

Intense Combat--In addition to solving puzzles and exploration, the game also pushes players into serious action and combat; when night comes, creatures will take their best shots at Alan, and you'll have to be quick with strategy as well as weapons to beat them back.

An intense psychological thriller from Remedy, the creators of Max Payne, Alan Wake looks to raise the bar for future games, creating a true cinematic experience. Explore an expansive world filled with missions, unique puzzles, intense combat, and horrifying enemies. Dig into a twisting and multi-layered story filled with suspense, engaging characters, and shocking revelations.

5 out of 5 eggsUnreal!

Pros: Alan Wake won Time's magazine best game of 2010 betting Red Dead Redemption i must say this is a game that takes you to the edge of your sanity, the campaign is a masterpiece, it plays out like episodes from a horror tv show, the atmosphere is heavy and it drives you to a creepy world, the gameplay is very good, and the graphics are impressive, this is what Microsoft needs world class games like Alan Wake, is an amazing exclusive tittle to the Xbox 360 and it stands along with exclusives franchises like Halo, Gears of War and Forza motorsports as must have if own an Xbox 360

Cons: This is a story driven game, so for those of you looking for competitive multiplayer you wont find it in Alan Wake.

Other Thoughts: Alan wake American nightmare is an Arcade stand alone story that is set on another time line it plays more of an action game, than anything else, but is also a good download to have if you fall in love with the first Alan wake.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid horror/mystery game

Pros: Mildly scary, but more creepy than scary.
Decent plot with very good voice acting.
Unique gameplay using flashlight as a weapon. It works.

Cons: Gameplay is repetitive. Run through the forest. Kill bad guys. Run through the forest. Kill bad guys. Run through the forest. Kill bad guys. Every once in a while you drive a truck. I found myself just wanting to watch the cutscenes.

Other Thoughts: Has a Steven King vibe.
I'd say it's worth 10-20 dollars. Came pre-loaded on my 360.
There are two DLCs!

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Story, lighting effects, creepiness, dialogue, soundtrack.
A survival horror masterpiece, with only a few drawbacks. It feels like playing a Steven King novel mixed with a TV show.

ShootersOnly .com has a great review

Cons: lack of multiplayer, Alan Wake's clumsy jumping

Other Thoughts: I rented the game through GameFly and felt regret sending it back, so I found it here for a great price and jumped all over it. The DLC episodes are great, and about as long as the episodes in the original game. You get the first DLC episode free with a new copy. In my opinion, a must buy if you like survival horror games!

5 out of 5 eggsBest Story Ever

Pros: If you love a deep and enthralling story then this is the game for you. This game by far has one of the most well written story lines ive ever seen in a game and the way the game splits its levels into episodes is fresh and keeps you wanting more. The graphics, lighting, and physics are also spectacular in this game. If you like XBL achievments theres a good variety and quantity of them to be had in this game.

Cons: It had to end. Cant wait for the sequel.

Other Thoughts: If your buying this new you get the first DLC for free and I highly recommend the second DLC since it is also very well made and kind of leads into the future sequel to the game.

5 out of 5 eggsRight On!!

Pros: -Solid game play, keeps you engaged the hole way.
-Voice acting on point not hing bad to say about it
-Music plays well in the game helping you get the reactions the want from players
-The best part of the game is the story keeps you guessing leaves the game open for new installments and a sequel

Cons: -Not very many enemy types, but that can be looked over. Weapon choice is limited but you'll understand once you play (read other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: I had a great time playing the game, my wife even enjoyed watching. Mainly because it was set up in episodes. Leaving you wondering and the nrecapping the next episode.
I believe to get the full effect of the game is to play it through the 1st time without worring about thermoses or hidden weapon caches or achievments (most are fairly easy to get though). Stay on the main path

The reason there is not very enemy types is because Alan Wake is an ordinary man, a writer. There for is just a reagular joe like anyone else. if they made the enemies stronger they would have to make him just as strong if not more. Then you would just feel like you might be some chosen guy with special powers and that is not the case.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Game

Pros: Believable characters, the best atmosphere and level design I've seen in years, great control scheme/gameplay mechanics, and an original premise.

Cons: Not long enough! (Though it comes with a voucher for the first DLC.)

Oh, and this version doesn't have the fascinating hardcover book that comes with the Limited Edition. I ordered that one after I beat the basic copy once. Also, the Limited Edition has a really interesting in-game developer commentary.

Other Thoughts: Well, I've nailed all 1,000 Gamerscore on this baby, and played through it four times at this point. It's a refreshing title after a few years of mediocre games (Red Dead Redemption aside, which came out the same week as this title.). I've loved every moment, and achievement hunting it was a joy. Beating it on nightmare was a challenging and rewarding experience, unlike the unbalanced frustration-marathons most other games sport for "hard" difficulty.

Keep in mind, I'm a serious gamer who's working on breaking into the industry itself. There are over 70 unique titles for the 360 on my bookshelf, and we have two networked for co-op play. Of all the titles on my shelf, this one has a special place.

4 out of 5 eggsInteresting Game

Pros: The game is a fun single player story with plans for additional episodes in the coming months. Well written story and good voice acting.

Cons: Once you finish the story you will be left with more questions than answers, probably leading up for a sequel or additional episodes (downloadable). You probably wont have any reason to go back to play it after you finish, until the new episodes come out. And my guess is the downloadable episodes will be rather short compared to the game's 6 episodes on the disc.

Other Thoughts: If you are a Stephen King fan, or a fan of similar genres, you will like the story. I wouldn't say the game is scary, but it is definitely creepy and sets a very dark mood most times.

5 out of 5 eggsBrilliant

Pros: Story, gameplay, graphics

Cons: Enemy variety

Other Thoughts: The game is fun, intelligent, and a great homage to the stories of Stephen King and things like Twin Peaks and Lost. It's fun to play and well worth every penny. I can't wait for the upcoming DLC this July. One of the best story-driven games out there, and my game of the year.
