4 out of 5 eggsAntenna works great

Pros: -Image quality on tv is great in the 17-25 mile range

Cons: -Setup was a bit tricky for someone with little experience

Other Thoughts: I live in the city, about 17 miles from the closest local TV station (they all range between 17-25 miles). I could hardly ever get any signal at all with the digital antennas I was getting from the store, including the more pricey ones, which was very frustrating. So eventually (before football season) I decided to get one of these to try it out. I wish I had done it sooner.

While the antenna is a little flimsy, it has withstood some substantial storms/winds in the last few months. For the price, if I end up having to remount it once a year or something like that, that's no big deal, but so far I haven't had any issues along these lines.

It was a little tricky to set up, and being a novice at that sort of thing, I ended up just attaching it with the hardware to one of my stack vents and it has been just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks better than expected.

Pros: Picks up all local channels from about 20 miles away. Very good resolution with no digital noise. Easy to hook-up; removed the DirecTV dish and used that mount and the hardware that came with the antenna.

Cons: Ugly

3 out of 5 eggsOK if you know what you're doing

Pros: Solid mount, compact size. Mount was perfect for where I wanted to put it. Solved a weak signal problem (rabbit ears) on my most watched channel. Mission accomplished.

Cons: Everything everyone has said about flimsiness, and ...
The matching transformer lugs are ridiculous. Tightening the connection nuts cut off the lugs. I crimped and epoxy coated my own lugs instead. The poor directions do not point out the need to support the transformer and the antenna lead. (I used plastic wire ties and electrical tape.) You cannot let the transformer and cable dangle from those delicate wires and lugs. Don't forget to make a drip loop.

Other Thoughts: If you have expertise with antenna installations, this unit is workable with effort beyond the directions. Mine is under the eaves, where it will be somewhat protected from ice and snow. No way would I put this thing completely out in the weather on a normal mast.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Small Antenna

Pros: Small profile, solid mount, good signal strength for stations within 40 miles

Cons: Horrible documentation, need to purchase mounting screws, mounts inches above roof, no listed dimensions.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to add an antenna mast to get this antenna off the roof. The included accessories sheet is worthless. The antenna mast listed VH116R has a 1.25' outside diameter and the J-mount with this antenna takes a 1.5' outside diameter. Of course no dimensions are listed.
it is the little things that get annoying.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works as advertised. I removed the dish from my old DirecTV installation and re-used the mount that was already on the house. With the mount around 6' off of the ground, I get all but two of the available local channels. I assume that, if I were to move the antenna higher on the house, I would easily get those channels.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsOutdoor antenna

Pros: Reasonable cost. Just works.

Cons: A little flimsy if installed outside (should be fine in my attic installation).

Other Thoughts: Set it up with a Tablo. Checked a website to find the main antennas in my area and used an app to point it roughly in the middle of the cluster. Worked fine without any kind of amp.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat I Guess

Pros: Really easy to setup and install.

Cons: doesn't go as far as I was hoping from inside the attic

Other Thoughts: I have a clear sight to the broadcast towers in Utah but the ones I really want are about 35 miles away and unfortunately from inside the attic I just don't get them. The channels I do get (all Spanish...too bad I don't speak that) come in very very clear. I have been wanting to see if I can get the channels I want from the roof but I just haven't had the time to try.

5 out of 5 eggsAntenna is Outstanding

Pros: Easy to install - it's an antenna, not much to know. Size does help installation as I installed in attic. Stations are 21 miles away and I am in a low spot but I get all 42 channels crystal clear and several are not in the general direction.

Cons: Screws to install the antenna mount are not included. Isn't free - I can't think of any others.

Other Thoughts: Would definitely buy this again. I wanted something small but able to get clear signals without an amp and this fit the bill and was cheap compared to other options. Price - Setup - and results are all better than expected.

3 out of 5 eggsWhat you'd expect

Pros: The signal is a decent improvement over a standard set of rabbit ears.

Cons: Pretty much everything else. The directions were terrible. Construction quality was relatively poor. Materials used to construct the antenna were poorly treated (if you handle it be ready to wash a ton of zinc off your hands afterward). Honestly, a stiff breeze could bend this thing.

Other Thoughts: If you're mounting this inside some kind of enclosure, it shouldn't be too much to worry about. It doesn't have either the construction techniques, or materials, to be considered a set it and forget it outside device.

This said, the price is low and the performance is good enough. As long as you know what compromises were made it isn't a bad product.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Gets good reception, size is good for an attic.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I tried the indoor antennas, and they didn't work well, or good enough. I live in the suburbs. This one works great in the attic.
