1 out of 5 eggsSorry Piece of Junk

This review is from: SAMSUNG CLP Series CLP-415NW Workgroup Up to 19 ppm 9600 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color Wireless 802.11b/g/n Laser Printer

Pros: Beautiful printouts
Has never jammed

Cons: Difficulty setting up wireless - I never was able to connect the wireless using a USB cable. The first time I contacted their so called tech help, the woman on the other end obviously had no clue what she was doing. I finally gave up on her. The second person was equally clueless. He kept insisting I had to connect an Ethernet cable between the printer and the router, even when I pointed out that the router was in another room 25' away and I didn't have an Ethernet cable that long. When he suggested I move the printer closer to the router, I told him that I was 64 and handicapped and, if I had to move the printer anywhere, it would be to my truck to return the printer.

I had tried getting the printer to connect by using the WPS buttons but no joy. I eventually figured that I had to hold the WPS button on the printer down for several seconds until the display finally directed me to press the WPS button on the router. Pity the directions didn't mention that! After that, I was able to install the driver and get the printer to connect to the computer.

The printer occasionally disconnects from my desktop computer and would do so frequently with my notebook. The only way I could reconnect was to reinstall the driver. Occasionally, I also had to reestablish the wireless connection using the WPS buttons.

Incompatible with non-standard paper sizes - This printer will only print on standard paper and envelope sizes. My last printer would print any size; not so with this one. Non-standard sized envelopes often come with greeting cards. The printer will print off center on those, often partially or mostly off the envelope. An inquiry to their "tech help" resulted in the worthless advice to go to the paper size screen in the printer menu (which only can handle standard paper and envelope sizes).

When printing card stock in the manual feed tray while there is 20 lb. paper in the main tray results in a media mismatch error; I have to press the OK button once or twice to force the printer to print. An inquiry to Samsung resulted in the (surprise) worthless advice to reset the default paper type.

Worthless Tech support - I have never received competent tech help for this printer from Samsung.

Other Thoughts: I've had a bellyful with this worthless piece of junk and Samsung's equally worthless tech help. I was going to wait until I ran out a toner cartridge but I've become too fed up to deal with it anymore and I'm now looking for another printer. There is no way I will ever buy another Samsung printer and it's questionable if I will ever buy another Samsung product due to their unbelievably poor tech help. I'm looking forward to getting rid of this piece of junk.

1 out of 5 eggsReview Carefully

This review is from: SAMSUNG CLP Series CLP-415NW Workgroup Up to 19 ppm 9600 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color Wireless 802.11b/g/n Laser Printer

Pros: None, have not been able to print for almost one year. Factory did exchange unit TWICE. Latest returned for repair and it came back DOA....Lots of emails, phone calls and begging trying to get a unit that works

Cons: Wireless is an issue, it does not want to stay connected. They had me move machine to next to router...no help.

Other Thoughts: Really disappointed with this model. Samsung must have a model that works?

5 out of 5 eggsVery Impressed

This review is from: SAMSUNG CLP Series CLP-415NW Workgroup Up to 19 ppm 9600 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color Wireless 802.11b/g/n Laser Printer

Pros: home or small office - fast, easy network setup, wifi print from tablet or phones or laptops. very good quality printing, and photos much much higher quality that expected (nearly photo quality)

Cons: paper tray only holds 1/2 ream of paper. Toner costs a lot. toner cartridge not made to easily refill.

Other Thoughts: I found a place I can buy a full 2200 page worth of quality refill toner, all 4 colors (black, cyan, magenta, yellow) for about $55. That is less than one cartridge. look into toner refill to save money if you feel comfortable.

1 out of 5 eggstrash update

This review is from: SAMSUNG CLP Series CLP-415NW Workgroup Up to 19 ppm 9600 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color Wireless 802.11b/g/n Laser Printer

Pros: color, sometimes

Cons: Since my first review it has gotten worse. Due to the way samsung produces their carts, non oem's are not, nor likely ever will be, available. Now the lucky (haha) owner of these is relegated to paying outrageous oem pricing for replacements. To make that worse, 1 of the four I have replaced was defective and streaks yellow through everything I print that is not colorless.

Other Thoughts: This is truly the worst piece of junk I have ever bought, and once I use up the black cart it will go to the dump.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

This review is from: SAMSUNG CLP Series CLP-415NW Workgroup Up to 19 ppm 9600 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color Wireless 802.11b/g/n Laser Printer

Pros: None so far

Cons: Wasted almost 12 hours, 4 on line with their support to set up. Finally they want me to return for servicing. New out of box. Arrived on Friday, started setup Sunday and gave up Monday afternoon. They finally said send it back. Lost time.

Other Thoughts: They had me move to within 5 feet of router, it still did not connect. Cannot find anywhere what the range may be.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid, works great

This review is from: SAMSUNG CLP Series CLP-415NW Workgroup Up to 19 ppm 9600 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color Wireless 802.11b/g/n Laser Printer

Pros: I wanted a solid printer for a family member I support, something that would be easy to use, high quality and just always run. This printer has been a blessing for me. Plug it in and walk away.

The mobile app is a piece of cake to use and works well with iPhones and iPads.

I've gone through many inkjet and laser printers over the years, and out of the bunch, this is my favorite so far.

Cons: None to speak of. The toner appears as if it is being consumer quicker than I expected, but it is too early to tell.

Pros: prints quickly and photo quality is higher than expected

Cons: Do you see this printer listed below in Samsungs mobile print app list of supported printers??????? I do NOT!!!

**Supports Only Samsung Printers**
* Scanning and sending fax is supported only on supported N/W printers.
* Only Printing can be done on printers connected via Print server or Shared.
* Maximum print and scan size would depend on the media size supported by the device.

Other Thoughts: Samsung shouldn't advertise a product having mobile printing capabilities if they are not going to support it!

Manufacturer Response:

Chucktown Chuck:

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung CLP-415NW.

The CLP-415NW is part of the CLP-410 series, which is listed in the supported models list.

Please ensure that your printer and your mobile device are both properly connected to your WiFi network, and the Samsung Mobile Print App will detect the printer without issues.

I hope this helps.

1 out of 5 eggsmalfunctioned minutes out the box

This review is from: SAMSUNG CLP Series CLP-415NW Workgroup Up to 19 ppm 9600 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color Wireless 802.11b/g/n Laser Printer

Pros: Newegg shipps fast.

Cons: This printer did nothing for me. I needed to meet a production deadline, and the paper tray made a loud rattling noise right out the box. LED screen said there was a paper jam, yet the printer thst captured a blank sheet.

Samsung tech support was the worse. Theytold me i should first...CLEAN the printer(its fresh out the box, it should be spotless). Then they told me i should call to have it services ( a brand new machine).

Other Thoughts: Newegg was very helpful and understanding when i requested a prepaid UPS return label and a complete refund, during my moment of utter frustration. I wish I had a video!!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Office Printer!

This review is from: SAMSUNG CLP Series CLP-415NW Workgroup Up to 19 ppm 9600 x 600 dpi Color Print Quality Color Wireless 802.11b/g/n Laser Printer

Pros: Much more quiet and efficient compared to the old inkjet that was replaced by this unit.

The black toner was giving a message to recommend cartridge replacement after about 700 pages had been printed and immediately ordered a new one. The replacement has been in a storage cabinet for 2 weeks now and still have not needed it. And, we have not reduced the amount of printing because it says it is low. So, I would say it is holding up just fine!

Only a few color prints have been needed, but they turn out great!

Cons: While this printer does have a toner saving feature, as well as other Eco-friendly features, it does not seem to have much of an impact on toner usage. The color toners can really be used up fast, but it all depends on what it is you are printing.

Other Thoughts: This printer is used in a small business office, mainly for printing out invoices and shipping/packing sheets. For our usage, it has turned out to be a great investment.
