The Micron's efficient, compact design offers excellent gain and impedance matching across the whole post 2009 UHF DTV spectrum. The ClearStream Micron is superior to existing compact antennas for receiving UHF DTV signals. Good directivity at all UHF DTV frequencies. The Micron is optimized for the UHF band, but should provide nominal reception of high VHF band signals for customers in stronger signal areas.Designed for flexibility, the Micron can be either table or wall mounted. The Micron delivers TV signals from widely located (spaced) broadcast towers, negating the need for an antenna rotator in most cases. The Micron offers an extremely wide 70 degree beam width pattern on core UHF channels. ClearStream Micron Indoor DTV / HDTV Antenna The Micron represent a new breakthrough in size and gain. Advanced design software allows these 10" x 11" antennas to be smaller and more powerful than ever before. This leap forward in efficient design allows up to 98% of the available broadcast signal to actually reachthe incoming antenna cable rather than being lost to impedance mismatches. Range: up to 25 miles, Beamwidth (Horizontal Plane): 470 to 700 MHz: 70 degrees, VSWR: Typical 2:1 or better, Max 3:1, typical less than 2:1 from 470 MHz to 700 MHz, Front to Back Ratio: Typical 15 dBi, Directivity: Standard Setup (No Reflector): Typical 4.5 dBi, Size Assembled: 10"L x 11"W x 4.5"D

5 out of 5 eggsWorked when all others failed

Pros: Depending on what angle you set it at and where you place it within your living room, you can pick up a multitude of HD channels. Tech support was VERY helpful. I almost returned it (due to no channels being detected), but they literally pointed me in the right direction and gave good tips. Within minutes I was watching the Olympics.

Cons: Took a lot of patience, but I eventually got the local channels I wanted. It's an issue with Digital TV in general.

4 out of 5 eggsTakes some effort for best results

Pros: As many others say, it's extremely important that you go to tvfool.com and understand what channels are in-range and more importantly, what direction the transmitting towers are and where you should "aim" the antenna. Learning this, I realized that my TV is on the "wrong" side of my apartment for proper reception.

I spent an extra $15 and got a 50' coaxial cable and a "coaxial extension connector". With about an hour of work to find the best location in my apartment for the antenna and to conceal the 50' cable, I am now pointed directly at the towers and am up to 22 channels!

I found that the ideal placement was right in the middle of a double-window that faced the transmitting towers. Mounted the antenna with the included bracket and double-sided tape to the center frame of the window and still allows me to open/close the windows like normal but is thin enough not to interfere with my blinds.... perfect

Cons: After my experience setting this antenna up, I can understand some of the negative reviews. I got it home, plugged it in and put it where I wanted... and got about 6 channels with it. After moving it around (within 6 feet of the antenna input on my TV), I realized this antenna was sensitive to orientation and elevation.... I was up to 11 channels.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this antenna to watch the 2012 Olympics in HD.
I trust the Antennas Direct brand because I set up my parents' DB2 antenna and was astonished at the range and signal strength. I would have gotten a DB2, but my parents' was hung in the attic, I wanted an indoor antenna for my apartment without spending a ton.

I compared this antenna to an amplified GE antenna and an un-amplified RCA "omni directional" antenna all with the same 25 mile range and it wasn't even close. The GE didn't pick up a single channel when placed next to my TV and the RCA only picked up 4 vs. 6 for the Micron.

I will say I expected good things based on my experience with the DB2 and while this antenna is very good, if I had a place to put a DB2 I would still have that one instead.

5 out of 5 eggsGood thing

Pros: Excellent reception

Cons: Comes only in black color

Other Thoughts: Using this antenna I picked up a -56.8dBm station which is 44miles away from me (34dB noise margin, according the tvfool). Pretty impressive.
To do that I had to hang the antenna to the wall on the second floor, close to the ceiling and mount it on the bracket which comes with the antenna. The result is not quite aesthetic, I say, because now I have that black spot on my white wall. It would be better if the antenna be sold in different colors to let the customer pick the right one.
This antenna is not omnidirectional, so if you need a strong pickup of weak signals which come from different angles, consider some other solution.

5 out of 5 eggsSame HD as cable

Pros: Out of the box and set up in 3 minutes. Same 1080 quality as cable WITHOUT the bill! Says 25 mile range but my digital transmitter is 32 miles away - sweet!

Cons: My area does not broadcast that many channels. Con for them not this product

4 out of 5 eggsGood reception, but poorly Constructed

Pros: Picks up lots of Digital channels all over the country. being used in a cross country Semi.

Cons: Unfortunately I have dropped the unit a few times until something on inside started to rattle. I took apart the unit to find that 2 metal weights have come loose and found that these metal weights at the bottom of unit were only held to the unit with some kind of cheap glue that was not designed to hold metal to plastic. I have reattached the 2 metal weights with epoxy made for metal to plastic adhereing. Now the unit works well and so far I haven't dropped it again.

Other Thoughts: I use this unit to get reception for my TV in a Semi that is all over the country and even in Canada. I like the crystal clear reception it has, although sitting at a truck stop sometimes I get signal interferance when trucks are moving, but it is only temporary disruption. If you want this antenna for just home use, and as long as you are within range of the signals the TV stations put out. I am sure you will find that this product will do the trick as long as you don't drop it as I have, Recommend for home, auto or truck, or were ever you can get a digital signal....

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Antenna

Pros: I cancelled cable right after buying this antenna. I had no idea that picture quality was so good for local stations since the digital switch. Between this and my HTPC, Cable lost a customer! Saving $100 dollars a month!

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Digital TV Antenna

Pros: Gets great reception! No power-cord needed! I am happy with this buy, and recommend this product. also about $20 cheaper @ newegg than my local retailer.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: sitting behind my tv, this thing picks up lots of channels in my area (greensboro, nc about 5or6 miles from downtown, I'm assuming thats where my signal is coming from.) placed antenna in one spot after opening and have not needed to move it yet, I bet if I played around with it I could get a couple more channels or even added an extra one hooked in to a splitter.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Worked as it claimed it would. It picks up more channels with more consistency than my amplified antenna did, and it also looks alot better. Definitaly worth the money for the free HD programming.

Cons: Dog knocked it off the windowsill, it popped open and the magnets fell out. It did snap back together fairly easily, but I just wish it were a littler sturdier.

Other Thoughts: Great value for the price!

1 out of 5 eggsdidn't work for me

Pros: Easy to hook up..

Cons: After repeated attempts to get this to pick up anything, the best I could get was 3 channels of static. Only one channel had any resemblance of audio. This is with my pc tuner card, my TV wouldn't pick up anything at all.

Other Thoughts: Having at least 8 channels being broadcast within 10-15 miles I would have expected better results. I'm sure there's other factors involved, and I'll keep trying, but I'm certainly not satisfied at the moment.
