4 out of 5 eggsNot perfect, but the aspect ratio is killer!

Pros: The wide screen makes watching wide format media wonderful. The variety of inputs, the audio output for HDMI connections, the professional calibration, all are on point.

Cons: As others have stated, this monitor has an issue with sleeping. However, after further testing, I have concluded that the issue is with the HDMI port ONLY. Both the mini DisplayPort, DisplayPort, and DVI-D ports sleep perfectly. I have not tested the VGA port. When using the HDMI port, when the monitor goes to sleep, you will be forced to power off the monitor, then power it back on. I have tried this with multiple sources (NVidia card on the desktop and AMD card on a laptop.) This is the main flaw with the monitor. The other is that you must dig through a menu in order to change inputs. If you are using multiple inputs and flip through them often, you'll find doing so to be a challenge. Another gripe is that the audio output jack on the monitor CANNOT be used with headphones. It is simply a line out, and will have to be plugged into amplified speakers in order to be usable. So do NOT make the mistake that you can use the output for headphones. It will sound distorted.

4 out of 5 eggsGood but had to RMA

Pros: The widescreen resolution is pretty nice, colors are accurate and it has just about every connection type you can think of including a 4 port USB 3 hub.

Cons: After having it for a while a vertical row of green pixels bite the dust. It also started randomly getting stuck on so you had to hold the "button" for 5-10 seconds for it to power off. Sometimes it would also go dead and just show a black or white screen while being stuck on.

Other Thoughts: I've had good luck with Dell Ultrasharp displays in the past and I have confidence that the replacement will give me the long life I'm used to from my previous Ultrasharp monitors.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat monitor

Pros: Great monitor, 21:9 is a great gaming aspect ratio as it adds extra view in most games (and pretty much all games that support 21:9)
no dead pixels in over a year, no flickering,
usb 3.0 ports work great, in constant use

Cons: The stand is annoying, probably weighs more than the screen.. and I doubt it came free, wish there was a version without the stand.

2 out of 5 eggsSeems to have a bad component that degrades over time.

Pros: Nice color, snappy latency and good overall performance. I really like the extra wide aspect ratio for the software I work in, since it has tool panels on the sides which would otherwise cramp my work space.

Cons: The monitor has trouble sleeping. The first one I got had problems almost right away, then degraded quickly. Dell sent me a new one fairly quickly. The second one seemed perfect at first, then failed once a month, then once a week, and now only 9 months later it fails several times per day.

The problem I am referring to is the monitor fails to enter power save mode correctly. Instead, the screen goes black, but leaves the backlight on, then freezes. When this happens, it will not finish entering power save, nor will it wake back up if you jiggle the mouse. I have to manually power the monitor off and then back on again to get the monitor working. It sounds minor, but it unnecessarily wastes several minutes of my time every single day.

I tested this problem thoroughly using additional computers, and other monitors, and without question it is a failure specific to the hardware in this monitor which becomes more and more dysfunctional as time goes by. After 9 months it has grown a new symptom which is that sometimes while I'm in the middle of working the screen goes black and freezes just like when it is failing to enter power save!

Other Thoughts: Dell was generally very good about supporting this problem, and happily sent me a replacement right away with just a few hiccups in the process. I contacted Dell again a few days ago (9 months after the first replacement), and this time I had to jump through hoops with tech support for a good hour and a half before they decided the monitor was also defective and offered to send me a new one.

Unfortunately at this point I don't want another one. The fact that they were so mystified by the problem tells me that they have not documented it or fixed it properly, so another replacement would only be going a few miles back on the road the the scrap heap. I requested a refund, but Dell refused to refund my money because I purchased it from Newegg. Unfortunately it seems I'm now a member of a 3 year subscription to Dell's defective monitor warranty revolver. At least I didn't have to pay return shipping - though I'm uncertain whether that will continue to be the case after the first year is up.

Unfortunately Newegg won't be any help either, since their policy on monitors says no refunds, period. All in all I'm very displeased with this monitor. If I had purchased it straight from Dell I guess I would have been able to get a refund and moved on to something more reliable, but oh well.

5 out of 5 eggsThis Dell U2913WM Monitor

Pros: I can have plethora of multimedia pages up and going at the same time, photos & videos are always crisp and clear. And while I'm gaming viewing looks more 3D like, and the thinner bezel is an awesome idea

Cons: It's a Dell, there's never any cons - Ever!!!!

Other Thoughts: Best ever Birthday present ever!!!! Thanks Brother!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsFirst LED IPS

Pros: *Great work space, worth 2 monitors together.
*Great gaming space, most games support 2560 x 1080
*Great movie space, no more black bars on 1080p movies, full display on screen.

Cons: *Promo picture misleading, it shows FULL screen use, in reality there is a 7mm black frame on sides and on top the monitor screen.
*The 1080 vertical feels a little squashed at first but that's due the pixel size, you get used to it.
*Slight noticeably ghosting at first but also get used to it quick
*Dell utility sucks, it attempts to change screen tone every time one switches between applications, disable this and you are golden.

Other Thoughts: Overall, the pros beat the cons with extreme prejudice.
The screen is just beautiful, from gaming, movies and working it all just fits perfectly. When multitasking just have to move a window to the side and no more ALT+TABing all over the list of windows to find your right frame.
Coming from a 22" Samsung this monitor felt a little smaller on the vertical but the pixel size was too different, I got used to it and have not regretted the purchase.
My only heartfelt wish is to see an upgrade from Dell that gives us 2560 x 1440 and 1 or 2 inches taller on the vertical.
I can always dream :)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for gaming!

Pros: - Wider than widescreen gaming without having to use more than one monitor.
- Great color reproduction (Although you may have to set it up, mine was almost perfect from the factory.)
- Fantastic panel with great viewing angles.

Cons: - First one I bought would not turn on. You had to unplug everything, and then only plug in the power cord, turn it on, and then plug in the DP cord.
- 2560 x 1080 support is sometimes lacking. Not really anything that the monitor does, but something to be aware of.
- Light bleeding from the bottom corners. This is a common problem with LCD screens and not something I even notice except when the screen goes completely blank, but it drives some people mad so I thought I would mention it.

Other Thoughts: - Diablo III - does not support 2560 x1080 in full screen. Developers made a big deal about it being cheating somehow. Laughably, you can simply select Full Screen Windowed and it works in 2560 x 1080.
- A LOT of games right now support this resolution in game, but the menus will be in 1920 x 1080, so you will get black bars on the side during the menu screens. Battlefield 4 cuts off the screen as soon as the round ends, blocking the chat box. Somewhat annoying.
- Guild Wars 2 and The Elder Scrolls online look AMAZING at this resolution. You have no idea what you miss off to the side of the screen until you are playing at a wider resolution than the default 1080p.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Double Monitor

Pros: This monitor was easy to install, came with drivers that I updated immediately and had great colors.

Cons: I should have done more research before purchasing this monitor. I already had one, and was hoping to add an addiitonal 27 inch monitor to play games on. While this is 27 inches, it isn't what I was looking for. It is essentially two monitors seamlessly stuck together. The bigger screen effect is essentially a wider screen, and not bigger. Playing games like Skyrim make the characters twice as wide without any additional height. Playing MOBAs doesn't increase the size of the game. and since I already have a second monitor the added area is wasted.

Other Thoughts: This is largely my fault for not doing more research on monitors before picking this one up, and just reading editor reviews. This is a great monitor if you are looking for more desktop space, or are looking to multitask. If you are looking for a size upgrade, go somewhere else with your money.

5 out of 5 eggsPeople have been critical of the resolution

Pros: People have been critical of the res on these, but I've actually come to like it very much with it extended to a older Olevia 747i at 1920X1080 for watching movie while web cruising or other things.

When you extend the two you can still retain 2560 X 1080 on this monitor using Win 8.1

I did pick it up for 399 at the time, though, like a few others.

Overall happy with that.

Cons: Not much.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent, but sometimes buggy

Pros: I've never really liked doing multiple monitors. Let's just chalk this up to personal preference, so to be able to have so much area to work with on a single monitor is wonderful for me. I do CAD work for a living, and so I can and do look at this monitor pretty much all day long. Very nice crisp picture, great colors

Cons: My original monitor was just replaced by Dell tech support, as it died, in the oddest of ways. As one other reviewer mentioned, the input buttons sometimes seem to be out to lunch, which I chalked up to somewhat sketchy firmware. Sometimes it would take a few seconds and multiple tries to simply turn the power off. Well, one day I was away for a few hours, and I came back (I work at home alone) and somehow it had switched itself over to the VGA input. Furthermore, when I tried to change it back to the Display Port, the menu would no longer work! The menu button would not bring up the menu, and so the thing was toast. Spent the better part of an hour on the phone with Dell tech support, and they concluded that something had gone wrong with the firmware, and they sent me a new one. Never thought you could lose a monitor due to a firmware glitch, but I suppose there's a first time for everything. I have to say that Dell's tech support was quite good, and very courteous. So, docking one star for reliability, but otherwise it would be 5 stars in my book.
