4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Kingston 8GB USB 2.0 Gold DataTraveler GE9 Model DTGE9/8GBZ

Pros: Compact, inexpensive

Cons: Average performance

Other Thoughts: I use the Kinston DataTraveler flashdrives to provide copies of multi-track audio recording projects to clients. I like the Kingston physical package because it is so small and is no wider or higher than a USB port, so can't block adjacent ports.

Since these are used essentially for providing a client with a archive of their raw tracks, speed is not really important. It would be nice if these were USB3 drives, and were faster, but it's nit a major issue. I see average write/read speeds of 10 to 12 MB/sec, so it typically takes about 10-minutes to store a 6 GB project. The DataTraveler drives do get quite warm during a sustained write of a large project, but so far have been totally reliable.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Value

This review is from: Kingston 8GB USB 2.0 Gold DataTraveler GE9 Model DTGE9/8GBZ

Pros: High quality (reliable), inexpensive = good value. We've used many of these over the past couple of years with no problems whatsoever. Great light weight, no-cap, no-slide, key ring hole design. Very pleased.

Cons: None noted.

Other Thoughts: Purchased two of the 8GB sticks recently to carry around Windows 10 Pro and Home 32/64 bit installers. Work great!
