5 out of 5 eggsHas Blinking Light

This review is from: PNY Turbo 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD64GTBOP-GE

Pros: If I had known these were still made with blinking activity lights I would have got alot more. Sliding cap ok speed is fine by me, in the 3.0, even when I use it in my 2.0 usb port.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Hope to see more colors to help organize.

4 out of 5 eggsGood transfer speeds

This review is from: PNY Turbo 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD64GTBOP-GE

Pros: * Large capacity.
* Good transfer speeds.
* Current pricing and 99 cent shipping, very affordable.

Cons: * Sliding cover will permit dust and dirt inside the contact area of the connector. Not the best option for keeping in a linty pocket or dirty environment.

* Warranty could be better. Only 1 year in USA.

Other Thoughts: I did an unofficial test comparing this flash drive to my old PNY USB2 16GB Attache flash drive using the same two image files totaling 7.81GB.

* New 64GB..... read 115 MB/s write 27.7 MB/s
* Old 16GB...... read 15.6 MB/s write 9.7 MB/s

I noticed after several reads and writes the 64GB drive felt warm. I then let it cool and recorded a 70(F) temperature. After 20 minutes of continuous use the temperature rose to 74.5(F). Not an unbearable temperature, but worth noting.

3 out of 5 eggsLasted just over a year.

This review is from: PNY Turbo 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD64GTBOP-GE

Pros: Was very large and cheap storage at time I bought it.

Cons: Warranty was only 1 year, device lasted 14 months 8(

Other Thoughts: Spend another 5 bucks, go with another company or name that will back up their products with a 5 year or lifetime warranty. Companies that only offer 1 year do it for a reason....like their devices stop working shortly there after.

5 out of 5 eggsit works

This review is from: PNY Turbo 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD64GTBOP-GE

Pros: It does exactly as it advertises.

Cons: The plastic sliding cover was tough to move at first but I've broken it in since then and it's fine now.

2 out of 5 eggsNot what it should be

This review is from: PNY Turbo 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD64GTBOP-GE

Pros: It's better than USB2.0

Cons: Not getting the expected USB3.0 speeds. CrystalDiskMark reports 127MB/s seq read and 30MB/s seq write, 106MB/s 512k read, 14BM/s 512k write. These write speeds are at least 4x lower than expected. Not good....

2 out of 5 eggsUnrelyable at best

This review is from: PNY Turbo 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD64GTBOP-GE

Pros: Sliding Cover is nice.

Cons: Almost unusable after 2 months:
It all began fine - recognized in 3.0 port for about 2 weeks, then started to "not respond" in any 3.0 port. Found that it worked fine in a 2.0 port... for about another 2-3 weeks. Now, I have to unplug and plug it back in several times in a 2.0 port before it shows up. When it does show up, data transfer rates vary consistently between 70KBPS - 1200KBPS with sudden and infrequent bursts of 2-5MBPS. This occurs on any PC's. Other drives and devices work fine in the same 2.0 and 3.0 ports, transferring over 70MBPS on the 3.0's.

Other Thoughts: 2 eggs because it hasn't completely failed. I use it in the field at client locations just to move a few docs between systems. I'll be getting a replacement drive this weekend, since this one is becoming so problematic.

Sorry PNY - This was my 1st of your thumb drives. Unfortunately, probably my last...

5 out of 5 eggsIt has proven excellent for me

This review is from: PNY Turbo 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD64GTBOP-GE

Pros: Fast transfers in both USB 3 and USB 2
Still going strong for at least a year now

Cons: None, No problems with it at all.

Other Thoughts: Fastest flash drive I have ever owned and used. I don't have any fancy speed analyzing reports and I don't use USB 3.0 much but this thing transfers large files on USB 2.0 connections three times as fast as any other USB 2.0 flash drive I have used. Still going strong a year or more. No problem with very large video files and play back just fine on multiple media devices. The bad ratings for these on Newegg are the opposite of what other vendors have on their websites. Another popular vendor shows ratings over 80% in top two levels and only 10% in the worst. That's with over two thousand ratings.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent performance, bad cover design

This review is from: PNY Turbo 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD64GTBOP-GE

Pros: Excellent read/write speed, (74MB/s write, 100MB/s read)

Cons: Bulky in size, Very hard to move the cover.

Other Thoughts: PNY 64 GB Turbo USB 3.0 Flash Drive: 74 MB/s write, 100 MB/s read is by far the best performance memory stick that I have. Other memory sticks I have are: USB 3.0 ADATA S102 Pro 64GB (51MB/s Write, 105 MB/s Read), USB 3.0 ADATA UV128 64GB (39 MB/s Write, 86 MB/s Read), Cosair USB 3.0 64GB Voyager vega (30MB/s Write, 120MB/s Read), the ADATA UV128/16GB memory stick 14MB/s write, 42MB/s read is much slower than other USB 3.0 sticks. Other USB 2.0 sticks are: Kingston Data Traveler 8 GB stick (9.5MB/s Write, 25MB/s read), the USB 2.0 Sandisk Cruzer Micro 8 GB stick (8.2 MB/s Write, 31MB/s Read), USB 2.0 Lexar 32GB stick (11MB/s Write, 17 MB/s Read), USB 2.0 Trenscend 4GB stick (7 MB/s write, 12 MB/s Read), UB 2.0 Sandisk Cruzer 4 GB (11 MB/s write, 26 MB/s Read), USB 2.0 Sandisk Cruzer Pop 8GB (5 MB/s Write, 24 MB/s Read). Of couse, the Sandisk Cruzer Pop 8GB is simply useless, and the USB 2.0 Trenscend 4GB stick did poorly as well.

4 out of 5 eggsLousy Cover Design

This review is from: PNY Turbo 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD64GTBOP-GE

Pros: Fast - does what it was designed to do.

Cons: I have two 32GB & one 64GB that live in my front Levis pocket all the time. The sliding covers were awesome for the first couple of months, now they're open all the time. Try to close it and the sliding cover slides right off. This is a great design if you don't carry it around with you.

1 out of 5 eggspoor quality flash drive

This review is from: PNY Turbo 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD64GTBOP-GE

Pros: worked for 2 months and died.

Cons: I had used lot of off brand, name brand flash drives and no bailed on me except PNY. In that respect PNY, what can I say.

Other Thoughts: I don't have anything against PNY. I am using PNY memory, PNY SSD all working great, however the flash drive quality is substandard. and you don't want to pay shipping and get a replacement of another refurbished/conditioned one.
