4 out of 5 eggsGood pocket drive for the price

This review is from: Corsair Flash Voyager Slider USB 3.0 128GB, Capless Design, Plug and Play (CMFSL3B-128GB)

Pros: Rugged, durable design (slider option is always good), made by corsair

Cons: none (see other)

Other Thoughts: actual usable space: ~115GB
** Came formatted as fat32 (srsly?) - should have been formatted as NTFS (given size), IMHO

Some reviewers complained about this drive being bulky/difficult to use when other USB devices are connected. I did not find this an issue.

AS SSD benchmarks:
Seq read:139.84MB/s

3 out of 5 eggsThis worked for 6 months, so I asked Corsair RMA.(5 year warranty)

This review is from: Corsair Flash Voyager Slider USB 3.0 128GB, Capless Design, Plug and Play (CMFSL3B-128GB)

Pros: good capacity. economical. 5 year warranty. real speed to move movie files and anime files is pretty fine.

Cons: Geee. This died within about 6 month with light usages. I've used "safely remove" 2 of 3 times.

Other Thoughts: I needed to make a Crosair account for RMA. In my case, I counldnt recover data by R-studio, MiniTool Power Data Recovery, and Recuva. I even tried almost the last way that normal users can try by Chip Genius& SMI Tool giving up data. Chip Genius v4 says SM3267ABS chip is used. Thus, I tried to repair my broken device by SMI Tool SM3267_V2.5.36. However, I couldn't fix it.

2 out of 5 eggsCheaper 128 GB USB 3.0 Chip

This review is from: Corsair Flash Voyager Slider USB 3.0 128GB, Capless Design, Plug and Play (CMFSL3B-128GB)

Pros: 128 GB.
USB 3.0
Cheaper than most of these at the same size

Cons: Slower than others even USB 3.0 is slow.
Required me to format again for some reason.

Other Thoughts: This chip died 6 months into ownership. Plus I am glad no critical data was on it nor did I not retain a copy of the files I transferred on the chip only so no files lost....
Buyer beware of this and be sure to keep a copy of very important files if you store on this device. I am quite disappointed this lasted 6 of the 36 months it is warrantied for....

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing portable storage at a good price

This review is from: Corsair Flash Voyager Slider USB 3.0 128GB, Capless Design, Plug and Play (CMFSL3B-128GB)

Pros: The fact that it is USB 3.0 means it moves data 10X faster than 2.0.
It is a small unit. No drivers needed.

Cons: It's small size means you need to keep track of it.
No other shortcomings.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this unit to any needing well price large portable storag.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great, Slightly Large

This review is from: Corsair Flash Voyager Slider USB 3.0 128GB, Capless Design, Plug and Play (CMFSL3B-128GB)

Pros: -Lots of storage
-Cheap
-Sliding mechanism much more convenient than removable cap
-Blue light to indicate when it's active

Cons: -Too wide

Other Thoughts: I've been using this thing consistently for school and work for about a year now and I love it. The storage size is large enough so that I don't have to worry about carrying around my fragile HDD to and from school/work. Didn't run any speed tests on it but with USB 3.0 you know it's gonna be pretty fast. The price is right and the sliding mechanism is much better than a removable cap.

My only complaint is the width of the device itself. When this is plugged in I have a hard time plugging in other devices to the USB input next to it. Could be a problem with the spacing of my computer's USB inputs (Lenovo Thinkpad T430), but I've never have this problem with other USB devices. Makes me a bit nervous when working off this and a HDD at the same time! They usually both fit but it's a tight squeeze. Other than that it's a great product that I would definitely recommend.

1 out of 5 eggsupdate

This review is from: Corsair Flash Voyager Slider USB 3.0 128GB, Capless Design, Plug and Play (CMFSL3B-128GB)

Pros: 3 year Corsair warranty

Cons: not working - overheats

Other Thoughts: Went to the Corsair web site and found the warranty is 5 years.
Opened an RMA request and it was approved in less than 5 minutes.
Will get a replacement. Hoping this one flash drive is just defective.

1 out of 5 eggsterrible

This review is from: Corsair Flash Voyager Slider USB 3.0 128GB, Capless Design, Plug and Play (CMFSL3B-128GB)

Pros: good price, nice design

Cons: After a few minutes of use, the flash drive becomes very home/hot.
This causes the the USB port to shut down. The only way to get the usb ports working again is to restart the PC.
Also, the flash drive needs to be unplugged to cool down.

Other Thoughts: I got this as a Xmas present, so by the time it was opened and tried... it was no longer eligible for return.
This really stinks.
I paid a flash sale price of $39 for a piece of worthless junk.

5 out of 5 eggsFast Pen Drive

This review is from: Corsair Flash Voyager Slider USB 3.0 128GB, Capless Design, Plug and Play (CMFSL3B-128GB)

Pros: Sturdy
Capless

Cons: Once formatted its capacity reduces from 128GB to 115GB but this thing happens in all flash memory devices, so it's okay for me.

Other Thoughts: I just have used this pen drive to discharge about 40GB from my 2x 256GB each Samsung SSDs in RAID0. The speed of transfer was about 135MB/s very good compared with my A-DATA same size which transfers to about 95MB/s. For 30 bucks it is a very good choice.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Corsair Flash Voyager Slider USB 3.0 128GB, Capless Design, Plug and Play (CMFSL3B-128GB)

Pros: Worked for a while

Cons: After about a week, only 32Gb was visible on the drive, I tried plugging it into multiple different computers, I tried formatting the drive, nothing seemed to work, it was a good drive until this happened. I handled it well, never to rough with my electronics, but something happened with the amount of memory
