5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy for the price point!

Pros: Simple, lightweight, works. I have now bought several of these the past year or so. They hold up and work well. And they look nice.

Comes with the basics, perfect for use for traveling, internet browsing, even working with documents and such. Cheap to upgrade a few things and end with a better system than you could pay more money for to get the same features. (see other)

So far none that I have bought have died. They have been working without issues or problems whatsoever.

Cons: Not a gaming laptop. Light powered, comes with a mechanical HDD so can be a bit slow to boot, but that can be fixed easily enough. Windows 7, so if you want windows 10 on it, be sure to upgrade by July 29th 2016 if you want that for free.

Glossy smooth finish, so fingerprints if you have issues with that. Touchpad is large, buttons are integrated, makes typing on documents difficult unless you want to use external mouse and disable the touchpad.

Other Thoughts: For many of my setups, I would often go ahead and buy a second memory chip.

Since NO WHERE either on Acer's site, here or even other places, its hard to find exactly what memory these come with, I will provide that for you.

They have installed DDR3 12800 (1600) 1.35v, CAS 11 memory. Usually these are Kingston ACR16D3LS1KFG/4G. I have used these modules below with no problems:

And the last couple I have upgraded to SSD drives from Samsung. Able to use the Samsung software to copy the drive onto the SSD (using an external USB adapter, such as a drive docking station) then install that SSD into the laptop with immediate gains in performance.

Between upgrading the memory and installing an SSD it turns it from a mediocre laptop into a pretty fast machine that gets the job done well. Turning the laptop into something that you could spend twice as much to get performance like that out of for only a little over an extra $100.

Hope it helps.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent basic laptop

Pros: Love the color (lol)
decent build quality
memory expansion to 16GB

Cons: Touchpad a bit fickle
Slow charging time

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my mother as a basic laptop. Fits the bill just great. She likes the screen, the keyboard works fine for her typing needs. I am going to add another 4GB RAM as I think the 4GB standard is a bit low and sluggish. This will do the basics like email, Skype, and basic web activities.

5 out of 5 eggsGood bang for the buck!

Pros: I3. 4GB memory. 500 GB HDD. This laptop runs well for the price point. As for the review form Anonymous about bloatware ALL the mfg. add it to their machines. Go in and uninstall all the bloat and the laptop will run like a champ. It has a better build feel then the one that starts with a D that I bought for my son. In all fairnes his was cheaper and had a dedicated video card.
In the end the daughter loves her new laptop!

Cons: Windows 7 support will end sooner than it needs too!

5 out of 5 eggsGood Bang for the Buck

Pros: Excellent features for the price. Good keyboard, Windows 7 OS

Cons: None so far. Still evaluating

Other Thoughts: For this price ($389.00), it was a very good deal, nice features. For general use it is perfect.

2 out of 5 eggsMay be returning it

Pros: Started off great out of the box, easy set up, connected quickly.

Cons: Absolutely loaded with bloat ware. Hit me with junk after the first day and system slowed to a crawl until I figured out what to uninstall. Then the Windows updates started in (my bad for forgetting to make it ask me first) which resulted in the dreaded IPV6 connectivity issue so now it won't connect to my home wifi. Going to send it back if my local experts can't figure this out.

VERY dissatisfied that it would come with so much pre-installed bloat ware from ACER. Some is related to the anti-virus program, others are peripheral ACER junk you don't need but they all slow down the machine.

Other Thoughts: Expected better from a $400.00 computer made by a reputable company.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget laptop

Pros: Cheap for what you get. Seems very quick, more than adequate for the average user. Plays HD videos flawlessly.

Cons: Would not be a good gaming laptop, but none at this price point would be so that is expected.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this for my significant other who's previous laptop died. She loves it! It is very fast for the price, and she loves the looks!

3 out of 5 eggsSlim & Sensitive

Pros: Good looking, light weight, screen resolution is good, keyboard is fine, for this price point the hard drive space is good & it has the ability to increase the RAM

Cons: mouse pad is extremely sensitive & poorly placed (Where the base of your hands naturally rest during typing, they tend to brush against the mouse pad, which causes the cursor to jump around. This is especially annoying when typing.) The right/left click bar at the bottom of the mouse pad area is awkward to use. It seems that because everything is so level, it's hard to find the bar when you need to have to look down to find it at times. More of a software issue, but the power settings cannot be changed from the default. This seems to be a problem with Windows. The power supply input is in an awkward position because it hinders the optimal drive from opening properly (the plug gets in the way).

Other Thoughts: It's a good looking laptop and very light weight. It's a great value for your money. The only major negative is the sensitivity & placement of the mouse pad.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Love my new red Acer Aspire! This was bought to replace my old Acer that I dropped multiple times and finally the lid rebelled, computer still operates. I was happy to find a new laptop with Windows 7, plenty of power and space for my needs, and the price was right.

Cons: Still new, not finding anything to complain about.

Other Thoughts: Shipped quickly, good communication, arrived timely.
