4 out of 5 eggsMisleading description.

Pros: I really like the player. It has a lot of great features

Cons: I haven't had a problem with the player in anyway.

Other Thoughts: "Integrating the advantages of the Internet and Wi-Fi technology," led my wife to believe that WIFI was internal...

WiFi READY means to me that it still needs something but what it needs is unclear in the description.

it was quite clear in the device setup that it needs a USBWiFi Adapter to use WiFi.

If there had been links to USB WIFI adapter that is compatible I would have included one in my order but the frustration and added setup time is making me consider buying it elsewhere.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Blu-Ray Player

Pros: I got this player as a gift and have used it for about a month and it has been a great experience. I also own an older LG bd390 and this sony blow it away in every way. I use this to watch netflix, dvds and blu-rays and the load times are decent, not instant and not slow. The netflix interface is a video shelf type (5x5 rows). The main menu is just like a PS3 and navigates quickly. It also connects to my laptop running win7 WMP12 to stream my xvid files, music and photos.(media sharing turned on) The Sony BDP-S370 also offers both Pandora and Slacker music stations which is great.

Cons: None yet, unless they serve up some firmware that breaks it just like the LG BD390. Lousy LG.

Other Thoughts: I would wholeheartedly recommend this player to anyone.

4 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: Access to Netflix, Amzn VOD, Crackle, Pandora.
Quick Start-up even without activating the quick start-up feature that uses more power. Wonderful UI.

Easy software update that didn't require me to download content to my pc, then move it to a flash drive, then to the player. Instead, a prompt appeared when I booted one day and I clicked the software update icon. Nice and Simple.

Cons: Somewhat loud drive mechanism. Poor Netflix application that doesn't allow for browsing of titles outside of the queue. Requires a PIN on every Amzn VOD purchase.

Other Thoughts: Use it daily to watch content on Netflix and previously purchased episodes and movies from Amzn. The only trouble I've had with any online service were a couple interruptions on Crackle during episodes of some classic TV shows.

Have yet to try Wi-Fi, Hulu Plus, Slacker, playback of files from USB, nor Sony's Qriocity service.

Not sure why people complain about a lack of HDMI cable in the box. On Newegg and other online retailers, HDMI cables are available for 3-4 USD and often with free shipping.

3 out of 5 eggsMisleading

Pros: I found this blu ray player on sale and its pretty nice. It has the PS3 dashboard which I am used it.

Cons: I purchased it for my father in law thinking it could connect to his wifi and do netflix. Then I realized all it had was an ethernet jack and you had to buy the adapter. Come on, how much does it cost to snap a WIFI chip into the MB, $3?

4 out of 5 eggscool

Pros: small, easy install, quiet, inexpensive, lots of content

Cons: content w/ ads (what can one expect these days?)
missing HDMI cable that manual said would be there

Other Thoughts: don't expect that all the features will be active without account registration, etc.
on the up side, all this consumer info probably offsets the price...

1 out of 5 eggswireless ready? no

Pros: seems to work okay in it's primary function of a bd/dvd player

Cons: it follows the usual scam of calling it "wireless ready" instead of "wireless after you buy additional hardware". that normal pet-peeve aside, the MAC address for wireless connection is hidden. i'm trying to connect to my router with MAC filtering and it won't work, and no where in the manual does it tell how to get the MAC address. I called sony (long distance, btw) and the tech support "specialist" knew far less about the function and concept of a MAC address than I did, a lot of help they were.
The MAC address should be printed on the device, or at least the manual should tell you how to find the MAC address.

Other Thoughts: Sony needs to look up the definition of the word "ready". Also, put some useful information in the instruction manual, and teach your tech support how to use these devices before having them try to help me.

2 out of 5 eggsUNUSABLE NETFLIX

Pros: Good blu ray player, quite fast start.
Hulu plus free trial with credit card, a selection of other online choices such as tv shows (old), movies (old unless you pay) and other shows and clips like podcasts.
Front and rear usb.

Cons: The Netflix service is unusable, whether you use an N router or hard wire it, the service stops frequently and makes it almost unwatchable. Attempts to get a solution from Sony have so far met with generic unhelpful 'solutions'.
Canadian models have Divx, but we don't get it. The usb port will play mpeg and .vob files ONLY. Anything else will not work, come on Sony throw a few more codecs in!!
No regular Hulu available on Plus with a credit card. No facebook, no blockbuster.
There is so much room for improvement, lets hope Sony do something with a firmware release soon to save this machine.

Other Thoughts: I bought this from Best buy in a moment of weakness, I usually use Newegg.
Sony's customer service leaves a lot to be desired, so far no cure for the constantly stopping Netflix.
Regular Hulu would be nice as would some other online choices such as Revision 3, a wider range or choice of podcasts and more online functionality in general.
