3 out of 5 eggsNot for HD

Pros: Optical inputs work. Device is controllable through universal remotes.

Cons: Component video fails constantly. Inputs available are not uniform for all ports; for example, there are only 1/2 ports with LAN connection and 3/4 with optical input. Remote is rubbish; I used it a few times, and then programmed my universal to control this device.

Other Thoughts: I use this switch box exclusively to connect 3 optical inputs to my receiver. I had an HD cable box, xbox 360, and ps3 connected to it via component cables. It would fail on all devices, and I would have to turn off the tv or reset the input. All devices worked on the same tv while connected directly to a seperate component input on the tv. When I bought a new tv I tried the video through the switch with the same results. I could not find anything (especially for the price) that would allow me to connect my devices with optical inputs to my receiver, so I am ordering another one.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Buy

Pros: It works perfectly with high quality video, however i don't know about composite video since i use the norm. The remote works perfectly and the storage underneath is useful to store my most played games.

Fast shipping as well (2 days)

Cons: It is cheaply made, but it works. Some lag when switching if device plug in is turned off. Sometimes the remote won't work so you have to press the button a few times.

The xbox also slides around on top of it when you plug things into the usb ports.

Other Thoughts: Overall it's a great buy for the price. Most a/v selectors are at least $20 - 30 and have no remote. If you need a a/v selector and are on a budget, get this. You cant beat it for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price Great Device Wonky Remote

Pros: As others have said the device does exactly what it's supposed to with flawless picture quality. As far as the one guy who had bad picture, I'm tempted to think he either miscabled or had 1 defective device which he should have exchanged for another of the same unit.

Cons: The remote that comes with it sucks. BUT, they list their remote codes with logitech so if you have one of those logitech programmable remotes, the device works PERFECTLY.

Other Thoughts: Get a Logitech programmable remote to go with this device. You'll thank yourself, especially if you do advanced things like watching DVDs or Windows Media Center extender on your xbox 360.

3 out of 5 eggsCheaply made, but gets the job done

Pros: Inexpensive. It also looks pretty good sitting underneath the XBox 360. The image clarity is as good as plugging the devices in directly, at least using the composite and SVHS (I don't have component.)

Cons: Cheaply made, feels like it will fall apart under the weight of the 360. The remote doesn't work very well, which is a shame because that's what I bought this for. You can't be very far away from the device, and you have to point the remote directly at the sensor and pray that it will work. The buttons on the device itself are made from very cheap plastic and have a tendency to get stuck behind the facade if you push them too hard.

Other Thoughts: The first time I hooked this thing up and plugged it in all I got was a very distorted black and white image. It took a bit of tinkering but I found that the power button on the device was stuck in a state sort of "between" off and on. Once I got the power button unstuck the image output by the device was flawless. The remote is a little wonky but it's still better than getting up to switch between devices.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes what it's supposed to

Pros: The best device I could find that allows multiple, high-definition devices to be connected and actually tries to be in-sync aesthetically with the X-box 360 Console. The multiple inputs offer optical audio connections, which is very important to me. I don't use the LAN connections on it, but if I had multiple, on-line systems in my living room, that would be a plus, also.

Cons: Although surely not the sturdiest of products, the only problem I've had with mine in over a year (switching inputs 3~5 times a day) is a little plastic tab from the back of one of the drawers breaking off so that it didn't stop the drawer from sliding completely out. Doesn't affect operation at all, really, since I seldom use the drawers.

Also, the oversized watch-style battery that came in the remote went out withing a month after purchase. I've never bothered replacing the battery. The remote seemed to have a relatively short range and had to be aimed directly at the switchbox.

Other Thoughts: There might be newer, better, and probably more expensive swtichboxes out there, but mine does excatly what I bought it for, and does it well. Would be nice if it were a bit heavier and felt more solid, but at the price, I'm surprised it's as nice as it is. Highly recommended.

1 out of 5 eggsDissappointed

Pros: Attractive and ergonomincally functional.

Cons: I wanted this switch to permit me to have my original Xbox and my new Xbox 360 co-exist on my HDTV on the same Component video input. it was not to be. the video signal however perfect when connected to the TV directly would not display properly when routed through this switch. No matter what set of cables I used or what input I chose the top of thepicture was tearing and unusable.

Other Thoughts: This looked like exactly what i wanted at a prices that was unbeleiveably cheap. you get what you pay for.

4 out of 5 eggsIt does what its supposed to

Pros: Its remote controlled making it syncable with the harmony remote and is form fitting for those willing to stack their 360 on top of it. disc drawers are a bonus for those needing storage

Cons: feels very flimsy, cheaply made. need to beam remote signal into harmony remote before it will sync. after a rewire, i had to unplug it, when i plugged it back in, it would not respond to the remote, harmony or factory. unplugging it resolved this 1st try

Other Thoughts: overall I am satisfied with this as a switch for my setup.
