2 out of 5 eggswhy do people like this mouse?

Pros: .

Cons: I battled carpel tunnel and I won by rotating mice -- most ergo stuff like the 3M. My last mouse was conventional (my Logitech G9x is SO much better than A4Tech) so when the buttons started to fail I went for another conventional mouse. Within seconds of grasping this A4Tech my hand felt fatigue. I immediately searched for a replacement (ergoguys!) and I'll use the Logitech for a little longer.

Other Thoughts: I got this because [relative to the rest of the mice on newegg] it's cheap. I don't know what prompted the spike in cost for mice on newegg, but from now on I'm going to Provantage and Ergoguys for my mice.

5 out of 5 eggsA4Tech F5 is my favorite mouse.

Pros: Quality is high on these mice. I have never had one stop working, even after severe abuse at my hands during gaming. They have each outlasted other famous brand mice of similar style that I used previously. The "3-Fire" button is great and I often use it rather than the burst fire option many FPS games offer.

The adjustable nature of this mouse makes it great for gaming.

I have hand issues and the body of the F5 fits nicely, without putting pressure on my thick palm, below the thumb. This has greatly reduced fatigue during long gaming sessions.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: My PC always automatically recognizes them, so I haven't really needed to use the enclosed software.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for Casual Gamer

Pros: Very fast and accurate. The feel is a nice textured rubber and the grip feels natural.

A couple extra buttons for the casual gamer but not so many that it becomes complicated. The extra buttons themselves are well-positioned and won't be hit accidently very often, if at all. I've had it for a few months already and I don't notice them at all unless I load up a game that I use them for.

The software allows for five different programmable modes in your profile, but the profile itself can be saved and loaded from file so in reality you could have an infinite number of modes set up. In addition, there's a color-coded LED button that's set in a slight indent for changing modes, and there's no loading time while switching.

Cons: The included software supports Windows only, meaning I can't set up modes on Linux, but the only games I use it for are mmo's which I have to run in my Windows drive anyway, so it's not an issue. Luckily, this also means it defaults to fastest settings on Linux. In any case, the specifications state it supports only Windows so you should be aware ahead of time.

The software setup gui has a couple awkward quirks when setting your profile up, but nothing that prevents setup in anyway. It might simply take you an extra 10 seconds to figure out how to get it to do what you want is all.

Other Thoughts: The cons are not really considerations in my score, as they are so minor. The software "quirks", actually, may be because this is my first gaming mouse. I've been a casual gamer for a long time but my last mouse had a long life and I've never been enough of a hardcore gamer to need more buttons.

I only with this one because it seemed like it'd be good for normal use with occassional gaming and I was right. It's exactly what I wanted.

5 out of 5 eggsA4Tech F5

Pros: can change DPI on the fly
color coded so you know what DPI you are using
macros for certain games to customize buttons.

Cons: Using the software it keeps changing the DPI to other than what I set it at.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these as I use a laser mice on all computers. After using one of these you will never go back to optical. They spoil you quickly. I bought one of these about 2 years ago and it is still working so I put one on my kids computer for them and the other I put on mine and put the 2 year old one back into the closet for a spare if one breaks. I paid about 25 for one of these and at that price it is full worth it. It fits my hand good and comes with spare feet in case you need them. The cord is plenty long and is braded so you wont have to worry about the cord breaking.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and Acurate

Pros: I picked up this mouse with a "ROCCAT ROC-13-400 Alumic – Double-Sided Gaming Mousepad"

Mouse motion is very fast, and highly precise.
This is plain and simple a quality product.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The mouse seems to require some clicking break-in time, just a little tight is all.

4 out of 5 eggsF5 V-Track

Pros: Very fast, i like the customization and the adjustable DPI, makes for a very versatile starter gaming mouse. Perfect price on sale, 25 bucks cant be beat. free shipping was good, got it within a week.

Cons: The only thing i have found so far that i do not like is the texture of it. Its grainy and not "Grippy" at all. I was under the assumption the mouse would be kinda rubery, not, like, idk cheap plastic feeling. But i guess im stuck with it now so i gotta get used to it

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse, Great Price.

Pros: Several points to discuss on the good things about this mouse.
1. Texture. The surface all around is that of some type of textured rubber. It never becomes slippery like some previous mice I've used, and will remain "grippy" for as long as I have it. The mouse wheel is great, very solid movement. The thumb buttons and the index finger button are smooth and easy to press/feel out because of the different surface texture.

2. Software that manages up to 5 different profiles. This is something that can be easily messed up by vendors. There are plenty of options, and it allows for complete customization for any game/power desktop use. I use one profile in Team Fortress 2 to allow for quick weapon switches to first, second, and third weapons, which would normally be keys: # of weapon slot + lmb (or mouse wheel scroll + lmb). It doesn't seem like much but the difference in speed is phenomenal. I also have a desktop use profile where the two thumb buttons are configured for back/forward (alt + left, alt + right). Profile selection is easy with the center key below the mouse wheel.

3. Easily adjustable sensitivity. While I don't really have a practical use for this, the fact that it's there if I'm doing some crazy photo editing (or sniping) is peace of mind.

Comes with extra slider feet for when yours wear out. I've had this mouse for almost a year now (always on a soft mouse pad), and the original feet are just fine.

Cons: Not TOO big of an issue, but it was something to note (This happens with all mice, but this particular one was a bit worse).

The muscle memory learning curve. You know when you get a new mouse, it feels totally weird and you have to almost consciously think about your hand placement? The thing that was the most difficult to adapt to was the index finger button right next to the the LMB and the wheel. For me personally, my index finger wanted to sit right on the red index finger button, and it was hard to keep it off. Through extensive use, I finally adapted to it, and I have no further issues with it. To me, the switch from my old mouse was worth it.

No weight adjustment, BUT the weight is just fine for me.

Other Thoughts: I think it's overpriced at MSRP (like a lot of things), but that's not to say it isn't worth it. It's a great mouse and it will last.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse

Pros: Great Mouse have had it for almost a year now and is still running strong. Macro and programming buttons easy to learn and use. Profile set up is also easy to switch and has a quick message on your screen when you hit the button.

Cons: After about 7 months the left button click started making a louder noise then usual. Does not really bother me. Last update to the software added new visual ques on screen that were not needed.

Other Thoughts: I would buy again. especially if on sale like it was.
