This concerns me as I don't want to do any damage to my Apple products. I have purchased similar cables which resulted in the cable pulling away from the connector at either the USB or 30pin end. Cons: The day my husband and I received these cable charge cords for our iPhone's, we immediately had a problem with the cords rubber protecting (that surrounds the wires) coming out of the round rubber piece that connects to the port that goes into the phone to charge it. I hope that made sense! I don't know the names of all the pieces on this cord. My charger still works, but I always have to push the rubber protecting back inside the round rubber piece so the wiring isn't exposed. My husband's charger broke about a month and a half after use. He plugged it in one day and the part that goes into the phone cracked open and fell apart and then stopped charging. Good thing these were 2 for $4.68! I guess we paid for what we got.
