5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Headphones

Pros: I honestly cannot recommend these headphones enough. There is nothing anywhere near them for the price in terms of build quality, wearability, and durability. Sound is excellent, I haven't tested many cans since buying these but sound is amazingly good and almost as good as anything I've ever heard (at much higher price points).

Cons: The first pair I received did have a dead ear cup but 6 years on with the replacement pair that Sennheiser sent I've had not a single disappointment despite daily use and tortuous conditions.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing quality for the price

Pros: I didn't purchases these from newegg however I've had them for years and felt obligated to leave a review after pulling them from the abyss of my messy truck where they've been for the last 2 years. To my surprise there was absolutely no damange and the quality is as good as the day I received them. They have a very clear sound and beat any headset (you can actually have a mic added to these if you so desire) for the price you can't beat the quality of t hese

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsOne of my best purchases

Pros: These headphones have been with me since Feb 2006. The only thing to ever go wrong with them is the glue holding one of the ear pads finally coming off at this end of last year (dec 1013). I have moved 6 times since then and go to about 10-20 LAN parties a year (almost every weekend in 2006/7. I cannot find any damage to this set at all despite them being crammed into a backpack. They fit perfectly around my ear and seal out most ambient sound and chatter. I can hear audio pretty clearly when on a Q-400 Turboprop airplane.

Cons: With this set, you won't get that "I'm a victim of really good marketing and ignorantly overpaid for a mediocre product" appearance ever so desired by today's youth when boarding an airplane or bus.

Other Thoughts: It is kinda sad that it cost almost 1/3rd the price of the set for replacement ear pads.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the Money

Pros: I purchased these in December as a gift for my mom. At the time I was only trying to prove a point, that there are high quality headsets that are much cheaper than say, "Beats by Dre". ( she tried buying them all month, and I kept delaying her by saying, "Christmas is near")

When she received them, the first thing she did was try them on. So the first thing we found out was, these work extremely well on noise cancellation... she was in her own little world until the song ended.
Since then she uses them when she cleans house. The coiled cord is always out of the way, never a hassle, and it secures tightly in her iPod. They effectively cancel out the droning of the vacuum cleaner and generally make her deaf to anything shes not looking at. The sound quality is better than anything else that I've heard in quite a while, even though the only thing I can compare them to myself is the AX-720s... these beat them out of the water.

She hasn't mentioned a single negative thing about them and she prefers these over her earbuds, especially since she can fold them up and pack them when she travels very easily.

Since shes completely satified, I'm completely satisfied. I'm contemplating getting a pair myself.

Cons: I can't find anything wrong with them yet. Except for that she looks funny when roaming the house with these things on.

5 out of 5 eggsThe last G_D D_MN headphones you will ever buy. Period.

Pros: * My pair is working as good as the day I got it, and they are OVER 10 YEARS OLD!
* Great frequency response and ambient noise reduction. It's almost like you stepped into your own sound booth.
* Handles very high volumes before any distortion, but as with most headphones, the bass will distort before anything.
* Replaceable cable, headband and headphones.
* Frame screws together, to let you fully disassemble and repair any wires if needed (never had to, but great to know I can).
* Cheap coiled cables tend to get funky near the ends, sometimes in the middle too, unraveling/turning on themselves, tangling. This cable has remarkably resisted that effect.

Cons: * Unfortunately, not completely indestructible.
* Over a decade's worth of heavy use and some abuse, most of the outer plastic covers have cracked and gone in the trash.
* The fake leather (feels like PVC) coverings disintegrate rapidly if you ever have the misfortune of poking or scraping them with anything sharp (like corner's of eyeglasses with screws sticking out).
* Not made of aluminum or titanium frame and coverings.

Other Thoughts: I bought my pair of headphones OVER A DECADE AGO, before NewEgg even existed. They look like hell, the plastic bits disappeared over time, after drops and bumps, and held together with tape now. The ear pads need replacing. The headband too. All of that is to be expected with headphones that have had heavy usage for over a decade!

4 out of 5 eggsI'm not a sound engineer

Pros: coiled cord, for variable length
good sound quality(to me)

Cons: Head band uses zip-lock technology on the seam, constantly comes undone.
Look pretty akward on your head.
Dont get loud enough for my taste.
Sound like carp right out of the case, need to be burnt in.

Other Thoughts: These are MONITORING headphones, so the sounds you hear are exactly what the artists inteded for you to hear. This also means they don't add any bass to music that isn't already there.

The first time I put them on and played a track, I was pretty upset. There was little soundstage, and the bass was non-existant. I considered returning them... until I burnt them in.
This means playing audio with prominent highs and lows at a high volume, for long periods of time. Pink noise is most suggested for this, but regular music works too.

After about a week of this I tried them again, and they sounded outstanding. The soundstage was much improved, along with the highs and lows. The volume was better, but it doesn't get to amplitude I'd like, even with every audio control on my pc at its highest. Bass is much better, but still only true to the audio file. Hope this helped.

1 out of 5 eggsPass

Pros: None I can think of.

Cons: Everything, No bass, mids are muddy, highs are bad.

Other Thoughts: These are the worst cans I've ever put on my head. My nephew's $10 thrift store headphones sounds better. Don't waste your time and money on these. I am out $30 just for giving these a try. Oh by the way I am a recording engineer.
I've been using Sony MDR 7506s for the last 10 years or so and they rock but unfortunately they don't last long, so I thought I'd try something different.

5 out of 5 eggsSennheiser HD 280 PRO

Pros: Incredible clarity, bass and comfort all in one package.

Cons: None at the moment

Other Thoughts: There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been discussed on the positive end of the argument. Whether you are or are not an audiophile, the quality you receive for the price you pay is terrific. This is one of the few items I've purchased recently that has made me feel fantastic about my decision.
