3 out of 5 eggsGood sound, mediocre durability

Pros: Good sound with a strong bass. I really like so called Open-Aire acoustic system. This is my favorite Headphone at a moment. I paid only $40 during Black Friday sale and can say that the sound worth every penny I spent on it.

Cons: I wouldn't pay the full price, despite the sound quality. I was very careful with these phones and never moved them away from my desk; used not more than for 50 hours total. Tonight the left driver suddenly died in the middle of song. Had to disassemble the left side and to solder wire which simply fell off from a little PCB. This wire goes from PCB to speaker and should never be under any stress, except a vibration. Soldering quality is just ridiculous. That's why I knocked-off two stars

Other Thoughts: The cord is short, but it might be considered as a benefit.
With the bass going strong, at times it feels like equalizer's help is needed to raise up some high frequencies.
Ear pads are soft and comfy, but not perfect.
The overall value is great. Just don't know when solder joints will fail on the right side.
Honestly, I wouldn't write this review if not the soldering quality. I assume there will be others frustrated with the same issue.
The disassembling wasn't that hard. Just slightly squeeze ear pad and pull it out. They are exchangeable and therefore it shouldn't be hard to take them off. Next step will be to remove 3 screws and carefully pull the plastic grille with attached speaker out of housing. All wires and solder joints are accessible.
Otherwise, contact the manufacturer and enjoy your 2-years warranty :)

2 out of 5 eggsYour ears can only make the decision for you

Pros: Inexpensive
Seems to have good reviews, but...

Cons: Bass response too heavy. These do not sound like $120 headphones should sound like.

Other Thoughts: I was really fooled by the reviews here thinking I was getting a $120 product for $40. It really comes down to your ears as I said in the title. For $60 more than this, you can get a B*** product which will far perform better than this unit. And that is exactly what I did.

5 out of 5 eggsUpgrade from PX100 or PX200

Pros: Great sound

Cons: PX100 is better for portability?

Other Thoughts: A great choice if you are a fan of PX100. Bigger than PX100, but the sound is upgraded with higher clarity. A little less crisp over high pitch sounds compared to other closed-ear style headphones, but cannot complain with this price.

PX 100 is better for portability with the folding and small plastic case but this is still comfortable and portable enough. Comes with a small pouch instead of a case.

Purchase of a decent USB DAC is a must if you are a serious listener --- this headphone does handle higher resolution than a typical smartphone or PC output do. Or pickup a player with better DAC inside. At least as good as an iPhone or iPod.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat headphones

Pros: light weight
great response
great price/value

Cons: The only quibble would be that there isn't a 1/4" adapter, but most people don't need one.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed. Terrible distortion on vocals

Pros: Light weight on the ears, black friday deal

Cons: Bad distortion on songs I've never had an issue with. Mainly distorts the vocals/treble. Even the cheap earbuds that came with my ipod/phone don't distort like these Sennheiser 239's do at higher volumes.

Other Thoughts: This was a Black friday deal; $40 bucks instead of $120. After many hours of use I can only say I'm disappointed with the sound quality at higher volumes. I've never had distortion on an ipod with a set of ear buds let alone head phones at full volume.. Funny part is I'm not even pushing these headphones like I do my cheap $60 turtle beach headset which has better sound quality! I tested these headphones, on my ipod, S4, desktop and laptop and I get the same results on each platform. Oh, and the equalizer on every device was reset to factory settings as I thought that was my initial problem. Wouldn't pay even $20 for these

3 out of 5 eggsOuch it hurts

Pros: Great clarity
Balanced musicality.
Punchy bass

Cons: VERY uncomfortable. The earpieces are small (about size of the ear) and rests solely on the earlobe. If you are not used to headphones pressing on the edges of your earlobes, you'd best stay away from this. It hurts after a while. I tolerated them on for an hour before it became unbearable.
Does not stay on the head well so do not plan on doing much while they are on. Just sit tight in a quiet place (open phones) and enjoy the music.

Other Thoughts: The earpieces swivel to lay flat. Unfortunately they only turn one way, and guess what, the wrong way. They cannot turn much when you set them down on your ears. not unless you want to switch the left and right channels to the ears. The engineers have blundered onto a modern day torture device.

4 out of 5 eggsClean and Crisp!

Pros: The highs are crisp, the mids clean, and the lows are spot on! They're well crafted and feel well built.

Cons: They kinda get uncomfortable after and hour or so and there is no In-line volume control.

Other Thoughts: Not having the in-line volume control is probably for the best. That is usually where the problems happen at.
Overall, I think you will enjoy these immensely.

5 out of 5 eggsUpholds Sennheiser Reputation

Pros: Know the Sennheiser name. Have them for home. Love the sound. Comfortable. Well made. Stable during wear. Good price, received addl off (limited time). Even without the addl off, the retail price in my opinion is fair. I would love to hear through a studio model, I'm sure I won't be disappointed when I get the chance.

Cons: Do not fold, limited color (just black). But these things are easily sacrificed for the sound that Sennheiser provides.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Amazing Sound

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The chord is short but I actually prefer that since I walk around with them on.

I got them on sale for $70 which was definitely worth it.
