4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Large, dual-sided, simple design

Cons: Had to rearrange to fit it.

Other Thoughts: Received for free. Wouldn't of paid to replace old surface, but would be worth it for a new purchase.

2 out of 5 eggsAVOID

Pros: On paper, seems like a good board

Cons: -BIOS is UEFI, but the background looks like its from a website from the 90's
-BIOS seems to display incorrect values for voltages at times (found mention of this across the web
-Physical layout is terrible. HD audio header is at backside at or betweeen where pci cards would meet the back of the case, means you have to run front cables over board.
-PCI slots, pci-e 1x blocked by dual slot cards.
-Ugly
-Software was useless, RAMdisk software had issues in that it would not keep settings saved. OC software wouldnt work (prefer bios anyway but tried it)

Other Thoughts: Replaced with a MSI Z87-G45. Same price at the time.

Looks much better, has pci-e slots instead of legacy pci, enough pci-e slots that dual slot card still leaves at least 2 pci-e x1 slots available. audio headers at bottom of board with other audio headers. Better sound and better NIC.

BIOS on MSI board is WAY better. Had gotten a good Asrock board for a FM1 platform, bought another for FM2 and this one because i had a good experience with that board and both had major issues.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good TV

Pros: Great TV. The picture was very nice for the price, and the sound was really good comparing to a lot of other flat tvs. I had a speaker ready to hook it up with this tv. And this TV's own speaker just blow my speakers away. that really surprised me.

Cons: Got it refurb, so the previous owners Pandora account was still in there. Can't figure out how to remove it.

Other Thoughts: I got android thumb stick around, so the Pandora account problem can be easily over looked.
The tv is a little too big for my bed room. But for the price I got it for, it's just too good to be true.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate to very good

Pros: Small and easy to use. Captures with great quality and accuracy.

Cons: Still no control over the captured file size. As of this review it still splits the files into 4gb sections and only the provided software will properly merge the files together. I tried merging the captured mpeg2 files with several different programs but all of them produced a small glitch in the final video at each section. No bueno!

Other Thoughts: I wanted to update my previous review since I've had much more time with the device. At the time of my last review I had been using Windows 8 and experience problems with the OS itself. I was unable to use Movie Maker as an alternative at that time but after giving up on the Monstrosity of Windows 8, I went back to Win 7 and everything functioned as it should. The Movie Maker integration is nice because you have more control over the final file but it still lacks some features as well. In the end, if it would simply capture to one file it would give us geeks more options with how we encode the final file. The ideal method would be to go from mpeg2 to mp4 once and be done. As of now we have to go from mpeg2 to mp4 and then our final file which for me would be mp4 so the process is converting the mpeg2 capture files to one big mp4, and then it's converted to the lower mp4 bit-rate which is sort of silly because it's twice the processing..lol..

All in all though I am quite pleased with the product. I get very good results with Movie Maker so I'll keep using it as long as I have to. I do hope they enable an option to capture to a single file in the future. Movie Maker is slow when compared to other programs.

UPDATE on the HP dc7900 Core 2 Duo E8400 Ultra-slim Desktop I bought to use with it. The processor is at 3ghz and is BARELY enough to capture full 1080 on max quality while retaining audio/video sync. I ended up backing it down to 27Mbps for the capture to be able to maintain sync properly. You should be able to watch the capture on a separate screen with perfect sync(expect a 1-2 second delay from the source). Sync will start to go before the video gets choppy so keep that in mind if you're trying this on a less powerful system. The minimum system requirement will NOT allow you to capture full 1080.

Hope this helps someone make a decision.

1 out of 5 eggsworst than my 30 dollar router ..

Pros: nice look, featured with ac and dual band
and fast deliver from newegg

nice webinterface and easy to setup

Cons: purchase the router and hoping that it will improve my wireless experience. However the signal strength is not even comparable to my 30 dollars router.
Both were connected via my ASUS PCE-N53 wireless card.

signal strength from my old router gives me 90% strength and 300 Mbps connection speed, but drop here and there, which was the main reason i wanted to get a new router and get a more steady wireless connection.

with the new router, I can only achieve 162 Mbps with same setting with 80% signal strength @ 2.4GHz
it's even worst with AC and 5Ghz, signal strength is only 60% and connection speed sitting at 81 Mbps.

I also tried to use the on board wireless from my Asus Maximus V, even worst result than my PCI-E card.

Other Thoughts: well i just receive and install it, will need more time to figure what possible solution there might be.

will update later if i can fix the problem

2 out of 5 eggsAPR = Disappointing

Pros: When touches pick up, the system functions as advertised. Works well with hard stylus or finger touch, Screen is glass and has a nice image.

Cons: Picks up only about 9 out of 10 touches. I contacted Elo and they gave me access to a hidden menu to try increasing the sensitivity further, but the improvement was only marginal. Too much sensitivity and the screen records false touches with any nearby noise or vibration.

Other Thoughts: From talking to Elo, it sounds like the APR type screens may be completely discontinued, due to customer feedback.

4 out of 5 eggsGood board

Pros: No issues whatsoever installing this board. Everything has played nice with it so far. Plenty of SATA hookups and front panel connectors. BIOS works great for me.

Cons: I hate it when a motherboard has the holes for the risers in the middle right. It leaves the right side just floating in the air and plugging in cables, ram or whatever over there bends the board like crazy, which is scary to do to brand new electronics. I know the description makes no claims to having USB 3.0 front panel connectors but it almost seems crazy that it does not. The board claims to have Quad GPU support, which is great except for it only has one expansion slot to accept a standard graphics card, right? Maybe I am missing something.

Pros: I hear it's very fast!

Cons: It's not Mac/Linux compatible (despite what the box says), which makes it little use to me
