5 out of 5 eggsworks as intended

Pros: It works well as advertised, for playing Blu-Ray movies in my case.

Cons: I'm not sure how backwards compatible it is, with burning DVD's. Luckily I have a DVD burner, so this wasn't a big deal for me.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply Amazing

Pros: This is much faster than the original mac DVD drive; probably three to four times faster in terms of load and burn times. Blu-Ray works great. Backing up on blu-ray disks is extremely convenient. Love playing blu-ray movies and backing up my entire collection.

Cons: None other than requires two usb ports that need to be powered but I am willing to sacrifice that in order to have the speed.

Other Thoughts: Spend the extra cash and buy this drive. It is simply more than i could have hopped for in a new drive.

5 out of 5 eggsGood optical drive

Pros: Bought this for installing software on a Yoga-3 laptop. Win8 found the drivers easily. Only needed power from 1 USB connection to read discs.

Later I will be using it to watch blu-ray DVDs so I tried one we already had. Played perfectly.

Haven't tried to burn any discs - didn't buy it for that purpose.

Cons: No case available.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly so far

Pros: Works perfectly with Blu-ray movies

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Caveat: I just tried to burn an ISO image to a DVD, and I got an error. The ISO image was too big for the DVD, but my burner program gave me an option to overburn (ImgBurn). Problem may have been the disc, also.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Blu-ray/DVD/Burner Combo!

Pros: Slim, light, USB 3.0, fast, portable, with double-connector to USB port (for both data and an extra power boost), Panasonic hardware inside, Blu-ray software included.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: After doing extensive research, I came across this very nice solution to add to my ultra thin Acer laptop. I read the specifications and reviews and they both right on the money. It is a bit on the pricey side but it has pretty much anyone'd need to connect a Blu-ray/DVD unit to an otherwise optical driveless machine. It helps to load your software from DVDs (Office, Adobe, etc.). It also comes with PowerDVD software to help you watch DVDs. It's an excellent traveling companion. It hooks up to the USB 3.0 port but the cable has an additional USB connector to plug it into a power source if your machine's running low on battery power. The upload speeds are fantastic and the blu-ray quality is incredible. I haven't tried the burning capabilities yet but I'm confident they're as good as the rest of the unit's performance. Highly recommended!

5 out of 5 eggsN/A

Pros: Plug into my Sony VAIO Ultrabook Windows8 USB 3.0. There is no need extra power cable. Need to install included PowerDVD in order to watch Blu Ray movie. Every thing goes as I expected.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Model name listed in Newegg is MD-3107S-U3RW, but the one I received is MD-3107-U3. Checked Archgon web site, and it looks like both are different models. However, both are of the same Spec. details. It is strange to me!
