5 out of 5 eggsGood Drive but Be Worned

Pros: I like the concept and operation of this "slot loader" drive. It has so far given me no trouble. I have not tried to burn a BD-R or BD-RW with it yet. So far it works pretty well.

Cons: O.K. Tho there is no problems with the drive while it is working fine there is one fatal flaw with a "slot loader."
If the drive cannot open or there is a problem with the electronic mechanism then the only way to retrieve your disk is to dismantle the drive. There is no pin hole or any way to manually force the drive to eject.

Other Thoughts: I do like this drive, even tho it has the flaw I mentioned. I bought this drive because I like the concept of the "slot loader" and I did not want to have a tray to open behind a PC case door (I have the Raid Max Agusta Case).

4 out of 5 eggsSlot Loading!

Pros: Slot loading, finally. Having a two-year old who keeps opening the dvd drive and then pushing it shut as hard as he can finally broke my tray drive. This slot-loader confused him so much that he gave up on pushing the button. Also, it works great, is pretty darned quiet and first bunch of burns worked great (including 2 BD burns). Additionally, the front is slick and not covered in logos and random annoying text.

Cons: Funky power / sata connecter required me to use the old school power connectors instead of a sata power connector and becuase of the design, I couldn't use a longer sata cable and hide it behind the MB tray. One egg off for these two items.

5 out of 5 eggsWhats Old is New Again

Pros: Needed something distinctive in a new build using an Corsair Air 540 case. This drive worked out real well, fit wise and operates like a charm,no glitches whatsoever.I know many builds now a days are going without any drives at all,but what the heck I'll be prepared if the need arises. But all in all a Nice Slick Drive.BTW the title explained == I used Pioneer internal slot loading cd/dvd drives years back and they disappeared and couldnt find slot loaders anymore for a long while,Just glad to see them back especially loaded with even Blu-ray.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsThe future of CD/DVD/Blu-Ray

Pros: Such a smart design and a great space saver, in every way! From the additional 3.5" bay to the lack of a drawer. This give you the ability to place entire box in a cabinet without room to open a CD drawer. Installation and operation was a breeze... Best decision on computer hardware I ever made!

Cons: None.
